Bro u got good videos but u need to work on ur views...I mean ur videos deserve more views but u need to find a way to attract people for example by putting title that can attract people...
on doing multiple roundhouses, i can pull off three clean ones, but after that my landing seems to get too hard on the ground and i feel slow and weaker with my kicks... any tips?
@bqureshi21 keep on practicing. no other way. good technique, speed, and power while you train. if you can only hit 3 while training, than train harder to hit 4,5,6,etc.
Yo! That circling kick is sick. How do you continuously move like that circling without breaking rhythm? Is there a particular place you land with your feet when you side step?
@ambassadorofpain1 Yes, as long as you don't live someplace that gets cold enough for the water to freeze. You may have to periodically refill the water due to evaporation. I leave my bag out all spring and summer, then drain it and move it to the basement when it hits around 40F outside at night.
very beautiful technique. u are very skilled ive been training taekwondo for about 2 years now and i am currewntly a red belt i test for my first degree in 8 months:) but i wanted to say that you are one of my great inspirations to keep training and that people like u give me and many others the strength to push ourselves to the greatest of heights. u are a wonderfully talented and dedicated martial artist and u make me proud to be able just to witness ur skill. thank you for being awesome:)
I told you i practiced Hapkido for years. We were not exposed to low kick drills or conditioning like the Muray Thai fighters. What can i do to make my shins tougher? A former co-worker & I in the morning used to kick each other's shin's before work. I couldnn't stand a light tap!!!! I saw you kicking a banna tree & it bent over. What can i do to get the conditioning? PS, I could only think of getting out of the way if multiple kicks were thouwn in this exercise. Is there a defense technique?
Being a heavyweight I find it hard to recover my stance when kicking, when doing rapid round kicks I get tired fast (I'm very fit and quite strong) as I really have to strain to turn my body over for the next kick. And with a roundhouse kick I find it hard to stop the circular motion even if I hit my opponent/target (If I miss I almost expose my back, or spin right round).
So I was wondering could you do a video about where to have your bodyweight when kicking to recover quickly?
@kwonkicker is it possible to train double/multiple kicks w/out any sort of target? When I trained, I had the benefit of multiple bags to kick, but now I have no targets of any sort to kick (and VERY limited space)... Is there any way for me to be able to kick faster multiple times (e.g. up to as many as 20 consecutive kicks in a combo)
Wow nice stuff there kwon. I like your style, mixing up kickboxing, taekwondo, muay thai etc... :) BTW what do you think of Pomsaes or Katas etc... do you find them good, bad? I dont get the idea of Kata punches, why are they so rigid. Anyways i dont realy mind them, but i dont find them useful for sparring! But i might be the ignorant one. :S
@tkddiuryl Yeah, it's super long. But it's my original black belt given to me by my sah bum nim, so I'm gonna try and keep training with it until I'm an old man.
hey kwon kicker, when did you start your martial arts training. i like your tae kwon do uniform, i used to do that but i was impatient so i quit. ps i put some of your vids in my fight science playlist
@albusfr yes he is a 4th Dan in both taekwondo and combat hapkido but when I kick he says to try to keep my arms in but he shows how to do it without losing my balance and it has a lot of power
how do you manage to kick that fast, while change legs? i am currently a Karate practitioner with a little TKD experience but i have no idea how to do that...
@BananaWeedTurtle You start off by learning the double round kick. I've already posted a tutorial on it and it can be found in my tutorials playlist on my channel profile.
@kwonkicker Thankyou so much, just watched the tutorial now, and i'm planning on watching it again tomorrow so i can practice it, i had no idea that you made a tutorial for this, and i've been searching for it for about 2 weeks now.
@kwonkicker I have a question. When you kick I've noticed that you throw your arm back and the other in front, my taekwondo teacher says to keep my arms in because when you throw your arm back your upper body is going in one direction and your hips are going in the other direction which(he said) will cut your power by almost 50% but what is your opinion on that?
@JcZorro3000 Counter balancing (what I am doing with my arms), allows a fighter to kick harder without throwing himself off balance. If I were keep both arms in, then after my kick extends to my target, there would be too much body weight shifted to just one side, throwing my balance off and making it slower to recover my stance. Plus, it is only my arm and shoulder that shifts over to balance my weight, not my torso. My hips and my torso still follows the same direction as the kick.
@kwonkicker I went through the same thing here. I trained with one school and was taught to keep my arms in close for balance, then I moved and joined a new school and now they want me to throw my arms back for more power and as a block for my back/side.
@JcZorro3000 in some cases it generates power by you pulling your arm while throwing your hips then releasing your kick and its sometimes its used to counter balance. Mostly seen in muay Thai
@wmpyr Actually, I don't mix TKD and Muay Thai techniques. To claim I did, would be incorrect. I train traditional, modern & modified TKD techniques for use in multiple types of kickboxing style competition, not just Muay Thai competition. It may look similar to Muay Thai, but my techniques, footwork and strategic emphasis is different from that of Muay Thai. My personal style of TKD is as different from Muay Thai as Lethwei, Pradal Serey, and Muay Lao is different from Muay Thai.
@kwonkicker I understand man, I also have to specify that I don't teach pure Filipino Martial Arts, to avoid politics, I just call it "stick fighting", like you say, TKD for "kickboxing".
Today, 11-22-11, I did exact same training at hwangs tkd. We had 2 bags and 3 masters held 2 clappers. We did kicks on 2 clappers than another set of clappers than the bags with triple kicks and another with 6 kicks and final clapper, master Hwang had us do 10 flying kicks. I loved it!!!
@Caeviens If you don't lean away, you can't turn your hips over fully. Therefore, if your goal is power, you need to lean away. Plus, it also keeps you upper body further away from your opponents punches.
But unfortunately in this session, I couldn't even add full power, because if you noticed, the bag kept flopping around wildly anytime I did alternating kicks too hard/fast. It's much easier to train alternating kicks on a 6ft heavy bag, or an XL wavemaster.
@kwonkicker Fair enough - Obliged for the Detailed Reply -- Incidentally, since You have pretty much everything else, it kinda surprises Me You dont have a Heavy Bag along with everything else;
@arkonastriborg123 he has had full contact fights when he was training in thailand..the first of which he won by knock out...or tko...i....cant...remember.....
dobok? I thought it was called a gi? or is dobok a korean word? it sounds Korean... but yeah, in my martial arts training, our uniform is reffered to as a gi.
