While most countries in the world spend less than 1 or 2% of their GDP on military. Burma spends 26% of its GDP on military budgets, more than any other country in the world by far. The so called leaders in Burma who previously stole power, need to release their political opposition from prison so they can speak their minds freely. Let a truly democratically elected government run Burma in a peaceful honest way. There is currently no election coming up only a planned scam by the military junta.

Yes, i respect that he came to Myanmar to film this historic event, but give some credit to the people who actually protested... O.o
you see the dude get shot and then you hear the gun cuz the cameras far away. that sucks man...this is why i dont follow fucking politics or religion...cuz fucked up shit like this happens
what was the japanese government's official response to this?
why is it that we go into iraq and other select places to topple their govts and depose their leaders, yet this junta has been pulling off shit like this for years?
Its because of the OIL interest in Burma that is Western controlled and supplies China and Thailand among others .If it was up to me countries like Burma Hong kong Ex British colonies also Tibet would fall back under the protection of the western hemisphere .But all the time our Governments and ruling class elite are selling us out to a non democratic EU Fascist/socialist dictatorship over OIL .These heroes have less chance than us Peace out

At the United Nations, Security Council members the US, UK and France are pushing to agree a statement condemning the military crackdown and calling for prisoners to be released.

First monk translation: They came here at about 11 o clock. They initially gathered everyone together. They couldnt get in, so they started shooting with their guns. They drove their trucks into the doors of the monastery and went in and hit everyone, and broke evertyhing they saw. They told everyone not to look up or they would get kicked. They spoke Burmese, but it was different.
the journalist was the guy that got pushed and fell. he got shot simultaneuosly, and the guy filming at the end was yelling and swearing at the military men (DARINGLY)
These military thugs shot the innocent civilians, monks and this Japanese journalist on purpose. They like killing people as they killed more than 4000 university students in 1988. Then, China copied killing students from the Burmese generals that was called " Tiananmare Square Massacre" that happened in 1989 after Burma.
it's obvious these days china is trying to conquer the other asian countries. and it's chinese history as always. return tibet to tibetan people. return inner mongol to mongolian people. don't threaten taiwan and japan.
U r such an idiot, the country shown in this video is Thai not China. also, give me an example, which particular Asian country has been conquered by China? which country China has ever send troops to?
the camera from the dead journalist was probably confiscated by the military. what this video shows is him getting shot, which from this video makes it quite clear it was not a stray bullet. Those guns were firing into the crowd.
burt2121 I agree, that people should be able to legally have guns, but in this instance, the whole point of the protests were to be peaceful, not to incite the government to send out troops to kill everyone, no civilian was armed, and the soldiers and junta bullies beat and shot the civilians. Yes he is all for Darfur, you can tell by his mighty words and weak U.N. sanctions. His words are so mightier than than those bullets that were sprayed on those protesters. I know what we can do. We can convince Bush that these folks are planning to kill his father, or try and convince him that there is oil there. Maybe then we can march our troops downtown and show them how to treat people. Maybe we can see there is a terrorist strong hold there and we need to act.
