  • Hey hey!! It's Shameless Martian, begorrah. Better remove those videos I 've posted of him playing my stuff. Hi Phillip, Good to see your still in action. Thanks for all those good years in Brum. Alan Page.

  • Wow wish I clould do that. Excellent!!!

  • Great stuff.. I enjoyed watching and listening to Philip play..

  • Not perfect, but definitely the best version I've seen on youtube. Perfect tempo, captures the spirit of the piece extremely well. Outstanding :)

  • It is interesting to hear all the various interpretations of this wonderful piece!

    The same, yet different

    This one is great!

  • @maestroanth Lol. Thats the American melody part I mentioned.

  • I thought that was awesome, I listened to another guy first, and he played it so timid which the music doesn't look at all timid but rather Lisztian with an American color.

  • @maestroanth Good description of the piece. The melody is definitely very American. I can also hear influences of Liszt and Rachmaninoff.

  • @dmcII Interesting, I'm practicing this piece, I wish to add this to my youtubes one day....this guy is my god though till then :).

IF you can't hear camptown races you suck;l I swear it's in there. Even when I play it.

  • @maestroanth No argument about Camptown. There's about a 2 or 3 measure sequence first heard at 3:15 (repeated an octave higher at 3:32 and 3:47) that borrows from the Camptown melody. There may be other spots as well but those are the most obvious to my ears.

Be sure to post it when you have it ready. I'd like to learn this as well but have too many other things to finish up first. Good luck !

  • @dmcII thx! I doubt it would be as good as this guy, but I'll do my best. I had a muscle spasm in my forearm for the past week which was annoying, I wish you the best as well.

  • @dmcII I got it posted.

I think I'm going to make another one, but it's pretty fun, I put south park pics to my audio.

  • Just DL'd his CD off iTunes with this piece yesterday (I think its the first one of the Gottschalk series). Really enjoying it. Bravo Mr Martin !

  • Philip Martin performs the music of Gottschalk better than ANYONE!!! From a long-time fan and recent friend. Hope he'll come to perform in the US soon.
