i have the Q1 and this umpc can run halo combat evolved, fear at medium quality each at 30fps, and resident evil 4(but this at 15-20fps, inplayable, bed, but it run)...

two ways, you either buy some sort of docking station w/ a DVD drive (which i dont think samsung has) OR you can buy yourself a USB optical drive. i think they're like $60-120.

if I remember correctly, FEAR has a low-quality mode where it just doubles every pixel, doesn't it? It should let you play at 800x480 at an even better framerate, have you tried it? Alternatively you could edit the CFG/INI file and enter a custom res, but it doesn't look like the GMA900 scales low res to fullscreen (or at least it's not setup that way in the video).

You can play full screen but it gets too choppy in parts of the game. 640x480 is OK. People who own the Q1 already confirmed this is real also. Buy one and see for yourself.

it's very cool that it runs FEAR and all... but... you'll miss out on most of the fun the game puts out. the gamma on this thing is crazy high. that, or you changed the gamma in the options. most of the fun times in FEAR are when you're in very dark areas with only your flashlight and gun.

altho it has sick gun fights, you miss out on the atmosphere playing on a Q1

but, the point of this vid is to show what the Q1 is capable of and all i have to say about that is DAAAAAAMN!!!! gj samsung

fps are not bad. What you're seeing is the "time shift" slow motion which is part of the game.

Second, the game is probably run on minumum settings, it doesn't look like any advanced features are turned on. Resolution is probably 640x480. If you know how to turn off apps and windows features that hog your CPU and RAM, then you know what you can really run.

To all the cries of Fake! I will lay down some common knowledge and sense. Indeed it may be a 900mhz celeron chip, but come on, you didn't know that P3 based tech does more work than a P4 per Ghz on much less power? As far as the graphics go, sharing 400mhz DDR2 isn't exactly bad, better than a few video cards out there, and it is integrated, so those with AGP video cards know that the Q1 has plenty of bandwidth to the card.

To be honest, I also have a hard time understanding how a game like fear will run on the q1. But i also pretty sure that this isn't fake, but the only thing I have to go off of is that mouse making noise when you turned during the fight sequence. what kind of specs is on your q1?

USB cable is running to the back not front. Thing that bothers me is where's the DVD external drive (usually hooked to left side. My 1.8ghz laptop with same GPU chip won't even boot the game. Take away the editing effects and do a vid of you actually playing the game with either the Q1 joystick or K/M not hidden. Then I believe it. Nice editing job though!

Fear requirements = 1.8 Pentium 4 min., 512mg min ram,64mg GPU min. w/pixel shaders. Q1= 900mhz Celeron Proc., 512mg ram, 915GSM Intel integrated chip w/shared ram. Two USB ports, one each side. Low power supply. Run a USB keyboard and USB mouse and you are stuck in Windows Desktop. Now if you showed in the video you using the keyboard n mouse, it would be different!

You can add a gig of ram to the q1 and have 128 ram for video, but the processing power is what has me a bit confused.
