You were talking about the obsidian. Is it minable ? if so and supposing you can get the block without dying because of the lava, is there interresting things to do with it ? Obsidian armor or sword per exemple ?

@wmaconick Obsidian is mineable by a diamond pickaxe. It cannot be crafted into anything normally, but you can make a 5x4 rectangle with an opening in the middle and stand in it to go to the nether. Also, it looks pretty awesome as a building material.

@TheDualSwords Actually in the latest version you totally can craft something with obsidian. You can make an enchantment table and get all sorts of nifty effects on your stuff (boots that reduce fall damage, bows that light arrows on fire etcetera)

@fistofpain5 Oh, it's random all right. This is the kind of thing that happens in Minecraft all the time. You just have to look around hard enough, and this kind of stuff happens.

@fistofpain5 Oh it's random all right. There are at least a few things I would have put there if it weren't. I couldn't find a mushroom biome anywhere even remotely close by. There's a snow biome, but it's a lot farther away than I'd like. All I did was regenerate the map once at the start because I spawned in a desert biome. The diamonds surprised me as much as you, and I really doubt I'll be seeing more.

@NakaTeleeli I just asked this the other day. :/ Lol. You just got the most perfect world... An insanely gigantic cave... And everything. You need to get Reimu's Minimap, though. Honestly, I don't understand how you haven't gotten lost. You haven't made checkpoints, or anything (meaning make gigantic towers to see your house, or make a trail of torches or anything.)

Watching you go into these caves kinda scares me since monsters can pop out from the dark at any moment. It's worse when there actually are monsters making creepy sounds and growling right behind you, and most of the time there are. Even little noises make me jump.

I do want your advice on this, now I really have tried with fraps to get my voice volume down to a pleasant level, but its still a touch loud using a Logitect USB headset and the volume of it set to 75. Any ideas how to lower my voice without making it unbelievably soft? because when I use fraps its still too loud and seems like I'm hardly affecting it.

@NexiSanada Mic boost is an odd thing. On XP I always had it off, and I just had to turn everything else way down to compensate. On Win7 you can keep it at an inbetween, though, +10 or +20 dB. If you cap out mic boost there at +30 it'll be WAY too loud.

@PatJamma Placing more torches won't really help you out there. They'll light up where I have been, yes, but your problem is where I haven't been. Kinda hard to place torches when I'm fighting as well. I'm not changing over while a zombie's eating me. Also, believe it or not I do nothing to affect the brightness. You can see what I can see.

Not a bad haul, especially since I hear that diamonds appear less often again in the current world generator. The ravines can sure be crazy though.. I've got one in my latest world that has almost four crossing each other as well as an abandoned mine shaft from surface to lava-level...it's a real mess to explore, bleh. Can't make any promises, but now that I have another of my own art projects finished, maybe I can finally get something done..

If you don't mind the suggestion, you could make a little fort down there in the big cave. That way you can run to a safe place and have a place to store all your things in case something goes horribly wrong (and spawn point with a bed).

I look forward to each and every single one of these videos. There's just something really nice to have a guy play through a game showing the ins and outs rather than a guy killing everything and not taking much in. Nice to have a change up. :)

Also, I had an idea, to make thw cave easier to find, maybe you could make some red wool, or something that REALLY stick out, and place it right above, or around the cave, so you don't have to look for very long to find the cave. (You couyld do this for other areas too.)
