  • We adopted a very young greyhound who never raced. After 10 years of owning greyhounds, it kills me to see how racing really affects them (though I toured the tracks as a child)- because she is so much like a normal dog. She is more playful, has no scars, I can rub her ears without her yelping, she comes when called, and she loves to run- around the yard, that is. She is the most loyal grey, and a lovely dog who gives us great joy.

This sport should not exist anymore.

  • My oldest greyhound broke her leg in training and still has pain, my 2nd female broke her leg which was never repaired correctly so she hopped on 3 legs. Fortunately my young male never finished racing school and is in good health!

  • I have a rescued greyhound who was saved from New Hampshire's Hinsdale racetrack almost 2 years ago. SHE could have been "Amber" and have suffered the same fate. Why she never had her FIRST race...perhaps a training injury...perhaps a second too slow...I will never know. I am forever grateful the owner gave her to Greyhound Rescue and Adoption (GRA) to find a forever home here in Ontario.

God bless Senator Roberge and other Senators for voting to get this bill passed!
