I remember those days when i started to watch the CART series. To me since there is no CART series, there is not reason to watch a racing car series. I miss those series!

I always knew that was Fernandez' closest chance to be the champion of CART. However, while Fernandez had good cars form Patrick; De Ferran had the AWESOME race cars of Penske, which were the best on CART that year.
O for sure CART was the best series to watch from 90-01. They had the best teams in racing, for sure the best drivers, where else can you see a car going in excess of 240 mph on a 2 mile oval and completing laps in under what 20 - 30 seconds? no other racing series on this planet could or will ever compare to champ car. To this day i still cant believe this series went under. Give credit to Forsthye ( sorry if i spelled it wrong ) and Bobby Rahal for sticking with Champ Car till the very end
very good video....the PPG Indycar/CART championships from 1990 until 2001 were just magical. They provided what i consider to be the most exciting races of all time. All open wheel racing now (including F1) has lost the qualities that used to make every race spectacular. The IRL is just plain weak with their under powered cars that all run the same engine....and F1 has turned into a commercialized spec series with emotionless robot drivers.
i remember this too, las year of greatness for cart, from there on a huge downfall, too bad its not like this anymore was real fun to watch those races

Totally agree with you, Honda was to CART in late 90s early 2000s what it was to F1 in late 80s early 90s.

Forsythe and Newman/Haas were the big teams that stuck with it. But in the end Forsythe sold Champ Car out.
