Those who believe so are misinterpeting it, either through a lack of knowledge or an interpretation based on what they know of bad christians, (christians who give the good christians a bad rap). For those kinds of ppl a song like this might mistakenly reaffirm their belief that all christians are hypocrites. Its sad really but thats not the point of the song though.

In this song, inheritance doesn't mean material wealth (although it's God's prerogative to bless someone materially when they're obedient to him if He so chooses). If you listen to the song in context, it keeps saying that you are the SEED...the blessing of ABRAHAM. Our inheritance=the blessing of a life in God through Christ that we get as adopted children of Abraham. We are counted as his descendants and no longer have to suffer the strife that accompanies separation from our Creator.

I get where your coming from...
But i dont think this songs exalting self.
When their singin about inheritance they are telling people to "by faith reiceive" their inheritance wich is the Kingdom of God and eternal salvation.
I agree some lyrics seem a little.....
Like Vamp 2,idont know what they want people to think of that.

Shanevan1, you are correct. The songs are not about self-exaltation. Those who believe so are misinterpeting it, either through a lack of knowledge or an interpretation based on what they know of bad christians, (christians who give the good christians a bad rap). For those kinds of ppl a song like this might mistakenly reaffirm their belief that all christians are hypocrites. Its sad really but thats not the point of the song though.

Dkan3 it sounds like a classic case of misunderstanding and misinterpreting a particular cultural expression of Christianity. A lot of people get nervous or automatically block out anything that even remotely resembles health-wealth doctrine, but in so doing miss something big. Here that something is the fact that our definitions of things in our world often do not match up with God's. God wants us to be victorious, but the problem is that what we call victory does not equal what God says it is

In this song, inheritance doesn't mean material wealth (although it's God's prerogative to bless someone materially when they're obedient to him if He so chooses). If you listen to the song in context, it keeps saying that you are the SEED...the blessing of ABRAHAM. Our inheritance=the blessing of a life in God through Christ that we get as adopted children of Abraham. We are counted as his descendants and no longer have to suffer the strife that accompanies separation from our Creator.

The Blessing of Abraham is a Spiritual Blessing that includes Abundant Provision ( Material Wealth). Read the book of Genesis from the 12th Chapter on and see God supernaturally providing for Abraham and his Seed after him - 1st Issac and then Jacob. Then read Galatians 3:29.
If you still can't see it, you likely have not progressed in your faith walk sufficiently.
Don't be discouraged, the Holy Spirit will show U.

@georgiea03 this is so true, Jesus says he was made poor that we are made rich, many think millionaire status, not. He became poor in righteousness, that we made be rich in righteousness; that we can come boldly before God. As part of the inheritance we are fellow heirs to the promise God made to Abraham which does include wealth but not solely ..

Jesus is real, if you just receive him. He just took me from being unemployed with no place to go to a 15.00 an hour job and a new apartment, plus reconciliation with my husband (we were going through divorce) in less than 72 hours. All you have to do is pray. Now I'm on my way back to my husband and my new boss on a train, crying because I am so blessed. All you have to do is pray and accept him, and give your life to him.
