  • Wonderful !!! Tank you !

  • Love this song, have since I heard it the first time. I am very proud to say..you did MUCH better than George...God bless you !!!!!!

  • I'm not saying this as a slam on George Jones (I love the guy), but his cover of this song doesn't come close. It's almost criminal how little recognition Jamie O'Hara has gotten in the grand scheme of country music.

  • lol i was searching for the beatdown hardcore band

  • This guy wa spartners with Kieran Kane in the late 1980's as the O'Kanes. Jaime Ohara wrote a number one hit for the Judds. He is an exeptional writer.

  • Jamie wrote this song that was made famous by George Jones.

  • I had this album, until a thief decided to break into my house and steal most of my cds. This one I really miss. I do need to see if I can find a copy. He is awesome.

  • He's made a mint from George Jones recording his songs. Great writers seldom get the vocal recognitions they deserve.

  • Not to worry. He's made a great living from George Jones recording his songs.

  • Does anyone know if this guy once played football at Indiana University?

  • He played college ball but I'm not sure where.

  • @MsJomamma Yes he did he was the tight end, but then injured his knee and then went in the music industry

  • @MsJomamma He was a High School all star at Ottawa Hills high school, suburb of Toledo Ohio. Went to Indiana University and if memory serves me correctly he damaged a knee on his first kick off return.

  • Drew Barrymore covered this song, Yes the actress. Visit my channel to see, its pretty good :)

  • @Gman9214 she sang it in the movie Lucky You. it's a beautiful version.

  • If I could hold the man that showed me JanmieO' HarA. Oh if only hold the man that introced me to this... but that can never be. R.I. P. Cary. I will always love you.

  • Jamie O' Hara... brings back a lot of good memories for me. Excellent singer, great songs, I just wish I could find his first CD !!!

  • Same here man. Great music.

  • have enjoyed this since I saw it on CMTV Europe and bought the cd then-its great and thoroughly recommended.

  • OMG!!!!!!!

I love this album!!! I've been looking for Jamie to return for years!

  • How sad. If you know someone in this situation reach out with a kind hand. Offer support and a ray of hope.

  • I have had this cd for years and it is good, especially this song....

  • what a beautiful voice, natural vibrato...

  • hey jamie, you married? if not, wanna take a chance on me, i love ya, robin..heartsonfire38..yahoo

  • What a song and what a album.I saw this cd many years ago in a record shop in Lisbon and I didn´t buy it, how stupid I was, now i´m desperately to discover another one and I can´t find it.Even in the internet it´s impossible to download it, it don´t exist anything of Jamie O´hara, how unfair this world is.

  • "rise above it"....best album out there....song by song, it seems to get better abd better 1-9.....i can't seem to find a used cd anywhere....i will keep searching...Jamie is very underrated singer, and a great songwriter

  • The CD is available (used) at Amazon.

  • My first encounter with Jamie was when he and Kirean kane ( The O'Kanes ) was warming up the audience before a concert with Emmylou and the Nash ramblers in Trondheim Norway many years ago. I remember that eventhough Emmylou was the main attraction that night, Jamie and Kirean also ruled the stage that night. One of my most pleasant memories from any Country artist

  • I love originals.I always tell my brother who loves george jones version that this is the first and original but he doesn't belive me lol.He aslo wrote grandpa.Loves it!

  • Thanks for all the comments and ratings - he's one of my favorites too. Too bad country music today doesn't recognize his talent.

  • Hi frentzbravo7,

Thanks you for posting these videos. Come to listen and watch regulary. Discovered Jamie O'Hara last november. I got lucky, and was able to buy this cd. Pity he only did 2 cd's. Waiting for number 3. To me he is one of the best songwriters ever, yet not very known in Europe.

My favorites are -50000 names- cold hard truth- for reasons I've forgotten-

Thanks again for sharing these videos.

    best regards,

    muziek 2007

  • I discovered Jamie while watching a show called 'Legends' hosted by Loretta Lynn several years ago. Since then I've listened to Jamie almost every week, bought his CD's and given them to friends, and praised him endlessly. He is truly one of country's best songwriters of our time. This song, and every other song on the 'Rise Above It' CD were written by the man himself.

Thanks a million for your post.

  • Hallo frentzbravo7
