most Ruf models are just re-built porsche chassis. except this car has nothing related to a Porsche, in terms of Chassis. a few of the body parts may be porsche parts, and the interior parts are porsche. the engine is a 911 Turbo block, but entirely rebuilt. the tranny isnt even related to porsche. the Entire chassis is custom made by Ruf.

because Rufs are built from unmarked Porsche chassis..and is is recognized as a manufacturer by the German government.

Gemballa makes also tune-ups for Porsche...

But they are not Porsche cars...they just look like Porsche!

One of these was at the 2007 Goodwood Festival-Of-Speed-Supercar-Pad­dock.

It was open and had an Eye Poppingly Pimp quilted red cabin. The body was raw silver alloy and the Sexiest thing i've ever touched.

The RUF correspondent (who sounded like a German fetishist XD) wouldn't let me sit in it :(

Is not a Porsche, is a RUF - an independent automotive manufacturer recognized by the German government. RUF design and build everything on their own from the unmarked Porsche chassis, therefore you won't find the Porsche name anywhere in a RUF.

Considering this CTR3 isnt based off ANY PORSCHE chassis/body, it is recognized and considered a RUF and RUF only lol...

I have a RUF R-GT2 that can be recognized as the Porsche GT2 even though it was fully converted by RUF, but not the CTR3!

Well then, forgive me for not being so savvy, but it looks like a tuned up Porsche to me. As I said, I understand the difference. Just as Brabus has a similar relationship to Mercedes-Benz, only these are completely built from the ground up. You're lucky to have an amazing car like that.

No problem man, just a little insight ;) RUF/Porsche are very interesting, check out the RUF DVD if you can , the heritage of Porsche and RUF are awe inspiring and brings new light to enthusiasts and owners, just like Ferrari!

And BTW thanks, I love my car to death and Porsche in general, best driver's cars in the world, and I am very fortunate to own such a car indeed ;)

I'm not quite fortunate enough to even own a Porsche Carerra 911 right now, or I'd surely have one. I've only had a ride in a friend's 911 Turbo, and I was in complete awe! It's a dream to one day own a car as amazing as a Porsche. or a RUF ;)
