  • Respect for anyone that covers this song, arguably one of the hardest songs to play on a guitar ever. Great job man, ,keep up the good work.

  • lol religious argue on guitar cover video xD

  • the lick near the end is from one of paul gilbert's instructional videos, you can find the tab (guitar pro tab) on ultimate guitar

  • also, for all you that bash religion and religious people are retards. wanna know who wrote this piece? A very religious man. he's made more progress than steven hawking because of his faith, whether god was their or not, the faith is what kept him and going, and regardless of whether or not it was spiritual or not, regaining muscle control over a disease that paralyzes your whole body seems pretty great to me, so why not have faith whether its supernatural or just something to keep you going?

  • @Supertasticaquatics Relax...The point, is, if religion disappeared today, nothing would change, and it would possibly improve the world that much more. The reason why i will not have "faith"...is because faith simply means belief without evidence, so there is absolutely no reason to even humor the idea of it. Faith keeps some people going, sure, not everyone. If that works for you, that's just great, but like God and other gods, just because you believe in it, doesn't mean its real.

  • @Supertasticaquatics And the difference between science and religion is simply this:Science doesn't claim to know everything. They don't substitute "God" for things they don't know, and they are comfortable with this, as am I. They give the best theories, that hold the most evidence, and then continue to do research. Religion claims to know everything, and when they dont know the answer for something, god is the answer. Im not bashing god, because thats juts absurd, but religion, definitely.

  • @LordBelial scientists have also found that even "space" aka nothing, has to originate from some point. and the problem with that is that they already stated that the big bang created all space. when was the matter in the big bang originate from? even that billionth of a nanometer of space for all that matter had to originate from some point. i watched a pastor align my legs through prayer when my left leg was 3 inches shorter than my right. they are currently still aligned.

  • @Supertasticaquatics Basically, i deleted most of your nonsensical comments because they meant absolutely nothing to me. Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. A pastor did not align your legs through prayer, the human brain can easily suffer delusions when you believe in something so much. If a pastor can create miracles, have a pastor grow an amputees leg or arm back, it won't happen.

  • @LordBelial finally, after all that, basic disproval of theories with laws found by the same people who made those theories, can you understand why i base some things off "god"? many things are unprovable and to trust my life to science ALONE is stupid. the bible said that adam and eve were made of the earth, and are we not the made of molecules, that can be found in the form of ore or rock? the 7 days of creation should be taken with a grain of salt, a general timeline of creation

  • @Supertasticaqu: And no, i will not take the "7 days of creation" with a grain of salt. There are many clear passages in the Bible that state it is to be taken literally, it is the word of the Lord. So when it says 7 days, it means 7 days. Just like how 2x of over 1 million plus species fit onto a wooden boat. There is no need for multiple explanations of the universe, the one with the most evidence, within reason, will always be the best choice. Science/Religion will always be separate.

  • @LordBelial not trying to argue with anyone but I THINK that until we combine Science and religion nothing important will ever really be found.

  • @LordBelial the supernatural can just be the interception of something non perceivable in this world like something from a 4th dimension, which scientists have already claimed to be highly likely (4th dimension, not the interception). And because we exist only in the 3rd dimension, their is already a host of things we will never be able to understand for as long as were here. so why chase a fairy tale when you can just ground yourself with what you've got? religion and science CAN coexist

  • @Supertasticaquatics Everything you have said has proved nothing, like all religious people. You can talk all day, but nothing is even grazing the line of reason. I will say one more time, science never claims to know everything, and science, the scientists, and people of reason, will be satisfied with not knowing everything, but always strive to learn more. Do not bother posting anything further it will be deleted and not read, this debate is closed......and, thank you for the compliment.

  • @LordBelial now, i feel my statements have explained myself enough that my small gramatical errors aren't something everyone will be bitching about. But i am a musician just as you, and despite our differences, i hope we can still get along, as musicians. i applaud you for your talent in playing this song, as i know how difficult it is. i may disagree with your "beliefs", but i hope you continue to play music because that is something i haven't been seeing alot these days haha

  • Comment removed

  • you know, i could show faults of science, and religion. giant holes in the big bang, primordeal soup, and string theory. and Flaws in creationism. why? Because although im Christian, im not biest. its the polar extremes of both sides that poorly represent their "group". anti christians look like stupid dumbasses that can't see the blaringly obvious flaws in their theories, and christian extremists look like people who never went to school. science and religion can coexist, just look shit up

  • The tone is actually good, sounds futuristic and stuff.

  • Wow nice! 5*

  • Just think, Jimmy... You might be this skinny again by the time this swine flu is through with you. Then I won't be too self conscious to try working out with you hahaha.

  • wow man really clean i liked it and nice nice ending

    5*

    peace

  • :44 onward, did you write that? where is that from? it sounds amazing

  • The original is by Jason Becker

  • @4rk01d thank you apparently these dummies dont know this.

  • This was a long time ago, but i believe it was a practice lick i found on a website, just the pattern, then i moved it around to make that. thanks for watching! -l-BELIAL-I-

  • It sounds Amazing, Keep on Slaying Belial

  • @Tacoguitar It's a lick that Paul Gilbert taught in his early instructional videos and shows it in his clinics (including his column in Total Guitar). It's basic string skipping - but sounds great, and this video is a great example of fluid playing. Great job!

  • this guy is the enxt guitar god!

  • this is the best on youtube, other than jason himself.

  • is this the guy from Def Karaoke Jam?

  • him? idk

  • Fcukin brilliant!!!!! as close as i've heard it

  • Haha goddamn you were scrawny back then.

  • Jason Becker would be proud to listen to you playing...

    You are really brilhant!

  • wow amazing

  • Yeaaaaaa.... Aside from ignorance on both sides of that Religious Believe vs Atheist Party... Banter... Below in the comments =/

    Awesome Guitar Playing dude =D

  • yea i agree, who cares if he is anti-religious anything. he put a brilliant attempt at serrana and thats an acheivement regardless. im christian and i dont care. what matters is that he made a damn good cover. i applaude him.

  • 100% agree.

  • you really rock, dude

  • you make my fingers cry at night

  • best serrana version i've seen on youtube. congratulations.

btw, im a beginner and im learning this song, and i have 1 question, did you used palm muting during the arpeggios?

    thx in advance

P.S: Saint soldi, you are an idiot. I would tell you to go to hell but i dont believe on it.

  • yes, ofcoure you palmmute (a bit) during sweeps

    but not as hard

it's just to make sure your strings dont ring out

because when it does and you hit an other string

you'll get a very annoying sound called failure :D

  • Thank you..sorry it took me so long to respond...but...NO..i dont palm mute the strings I AM PICKING...i use my palm to mute the surrounding strings so there is no background noise....but the actual string i am picking is not muted.

  • Fuckin excellent!

  • great job man!!

  • satanist username

  • "satanist username "

You're an idiot and your god is a dead weakling faggot.

Amazing rendition of Serrana by an excellent guitar player who knows what true music is.

  • This is ridiculous. I'm supposed to bow and scrape to your stupid god, otherwise he's going to send me to a burning pit because he loves me so much. That's really fucking brilliant.

Your god is stupid. The very idea of it is dumb to the core. Provide some proof of your ridiculous pronouncements or get the fuck out of town. Jesus was raped and murdered by the romans and he's never, ever coming back.

Now go genuflect to the torture device you worship as an idol.

  • This is stupid. You don't have any proof, yet you believe in talking snakes and virgin births and monsters under the bed. Go back to the Bronze Age and molest some choirboys.

  • I see, so "Grimm's Fairy Tales" is proof of Jack and the Beanstalk.

You don't even understand what proof IS. You have NO proof, you have no evidence, you have nothing but witchdoctor superstitions and a church that protects pedophiles for FUCK'S SAKE.

  • get the fuck out with this religious nonsensical bull

  • SAINTsoldi, you are the epitome of a brainwashed halfwit. "IS TROO CUZ DE BIBLE SEZ SO YAAAAAAAAAY"

And like most braindead christian scum, you'll probably deny that you would be saying the same thing about the koran if you were born in Iran or the talmud if you were born in Israel. Fucking sheep.

  • carcosa ='s GAY!

  • Yeah, it is. Got a problem with that? EH? WANNAFITEABOUDDIT?

All jokes aside, you are a weak, worthless, brainwashed christian twit. You are not going to "open our eyes" because our eyes already are open. We, unlike you, are not sheep. We don't need your invisible man in the sky, we don't need your little comfy little bedtime fables from your storybook to sleep at night, and we don't need you. We outgrew fairy tales many years ago. Self asphyxiate, for the greater good.

  • pwnt

  • ouch?

  • exactly

  • awsome

  • That was awesome dude, very clean and well played, jason would be proud

  • Good job, too much gain. and what do you have as the neck pick up, i cant tell if its the original Dimarzio or something else

  • Jason Becker would be proud. This was rad. Although I hate your tone.

  • good playing bad tone

  • GODLY SWEEPS. You should do this with a backing track of some sort.

  • nice sweeping dude

  • This guy is a great guitar player and executed this brilliantly. I like the stuff at the end also.

I see some great advice you give about theory also. One part of my guitar playing I'm lacking so I shall act upon that

    All the best

  • omg, awesome!

  • dude i never get tired of watching your vids, great job again =)

  • I liked the part from :44 on better than the serrana. Went from a happy to evil sound, I like that style.

  • Jason is awesome but i believe there will be no one faster and more precise techncally than Shawn Lane

  • very true

  • I dissent. Eric Johnson may be as haste as Shawn Lane, but his precision and technicality exceed that of Shawn Lane's. You see, Eric Johnson has the "sweet spot." Go figure out what that is.

  • very true. johnson plays everything perfectly and smooth. he doesnt "shred" but plays faster than most shredders can while being able to understand the notes clearly

  • amazing did you teach yourself to sweep pick?

  • pretty good, i cant get this song at all

  • Awesome job man.

  • Also, very well played! I'm trying to learn this, but it's definitely going to take a while =P

  • Nobody is better than Becker, even now

  • good job!

  • At :43, Did you make that up or is that from somewhere? What are the chords you're arpeggiating there? It sounds so sick.

  • yours by far is the best REserrana played

  • dam you got that Paul Gilbert speed

  • no hes got that jason becker speed

  • no one will ever have jason becker speed... jason is one and only and no one can get close to him.. thats my opinion anyway..

  • Jason was very fast...and to this day is still one of my favorite guitarist...how ever as time moves on, there are people who play faster than him...and even cleaner than him. thanks for the comments-Jimmy

  • well man it's true there are aloet more fast sherders guitar players today then jasons time but still i think jason is the king and as i said thats my opinion soo u don;t have to poor my comment just cause i said my opinion in a nice way...

  • ...and mine wasnt in a nice way? i simply responded to what you had to say...i dont see any "mean" or "poor" things in there.

  • example, please...

  • Paul Gilbert is faster than anyone

  • Paul Gilbert is amazing, but I found your comment quite ironic. Paul Gilbert wouldn't be able to play this, at least not the same way. He never uses sweep picking.

  • that doesn't mean he's unable to.

  • i've heard him sweep some places, but he always does the string skipping just to screw with people..like me. and gilbert probably could play this knowing the discipline and skill level he has.

  • but don't take that in any way as me not liking Paul Gilbert. He's one of my favorite guitarists.

  • You should expose your arguments because i dont really think that, maybe if you say why do you think that i might be able to understand your pointless comment.

  • increible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you are god man

  • cuanto chucha practicaste esa wea O.O !

  • Jason would be proud... Awesome playing dude!

  • amazing...

  • dude that was SO SO sick, not in a good way but in the best way possible, amazing sweeping, it's hard to play becker

  • that was amazing. Best serrana cover on youtube by far

  • excellent job, your sound is horrible! but that's excellent playing ^^ 5 stars

  • thanks , i agree with the sound also, i had just gotten a new sound card when i recorded this and had no idea how to tweak it yet.-jimmy

  • oh hell noticed that this is over 2 years old :p

i just started practising this but it's kinda over my skills atm.. i'm able to play altitudes soon though ^^ take care

    -bolt

  • Im glad to see someone on youtube finally take jason beckers serena to the next level and do it the right way. Seriously nice playing!

  • Very nice sweeps.... The paterns are a bit confusing i cant see the mode your basing everything off of. Very nice,

  • you have one of the best versions of serrana on youtube!!...you also seem to be one of the best players here.

  • this is so hard to play....is that guitar Ibanez?? I have one ESP/LTD mmv -06 and one fender squier -02...keep rocking /,,/ :)

  • what's that guitar and how much it cost??

  • Its probably the rarest of all the jems...Ibanez JemBSB (burnt stained blue) ....it was probably the best guitar iv ever owned....but i got rid of it because there is no clear coat finish on it, and over time the finish will easily wear off....it ran me about 1450 at the time, probably more expensive now.

  • when you going to start posting lessons on youtube, or at least the drills you do?

  • yea.. you pretty much win

  • Very impressive man..Havent seen many people pull off serrana..attempts, but not nail it like that \m/ \m/

  • awesome dude!

how long have u been playing guitar???

    veeeerrrryyy good!!!

  • Awesome playing, dude!

Like someone said, ur vid is one of the best videos of this piece.

Im working on this song for abt 1 yr. Sweep arpeggios are not my strong point but ill carry on tryin...

    Congrats!!

  • Yer tell me I've just these few days started to play Serrana and I know how hard it is thats why this guy is awesome. I just suppose you gotta start off slow and painful to go quick and easy

  • Yeah! For sure, dude!

Thats the secret...and it takes time, I kno!

By watching this vid, Im inspired again to try playin this song...

Jason Becker is the absolute governor of the universe!! LoL

Some day Ill play it clean n easy! =D

  • Hey, fantatsic, what can i say. You've inspired me to practice more!

  • :O

    Good!

  • upsidedown cross, dark funeral shirt...hail

  • fuck you. This was great. Dig the threads.

  • Way to completely judge someone on what they wear. Do everyone a favor and keep that pointless garbage to yourself.

  • It was a nicely redone score, cool.

  • WOW!! HOW MANY TIME TO DO THIS?

  • dude, one of the best serranas on the you tube...you are really a great player..too bad you didn't finish as you should...but I know that the last part is 20 % more difficoult to play then the rest of the song:)so u r forgiven:D I'm working on my serrana for about 6 months and when it's readdy I will upload a version of my own..keep on rockin' 5 STARS!!!

  • damn good, its almost as good as the original one

  • wiah i could play half as good as you.

  • Good Job!

    Thumbs up ^^

  • spider and web

  • ok the quality of the video sucked but wat i could hear and could see was f-ing amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the quuality is fine.

  • It's verrryyy goood!

  • the speed is awesome. maybe work on muting a little bit, and concentrate on making it a little more inflective

  • sweep like u no how

  • dame un hijo jejejeje

  • Give me a son jajajaja

  • hail satan

  • Wow.

    You definitely have it down..

  • wow dude your fuckin nuts

  • dude that brought tears to my eyes. that was amazing. ive been trying to sweep for like 5 months now and i still cant get it quite rite. u make it look so easy and sound so melodic and bad ass. ur a monster.

  • props to you, buddy. accurate! :]

  • this guy is a dick

  • just technical work, not much melody or anything, and try fixing your tone sounds really shitty, but nice job though

  • J. Becker is god of guitar

  • nice man !

  • Very nice mate, very nice indeed. Keep up the good work.

  • dissection otherfuckers...i'm talking the dssection cross behiond you...good job though...

  • holy fuck

i think i just came in my pants

  • OMG, amazing!!

  • Wordless.

  • speechless.

  • niceeeeee

check out my attempt on my page ;)

  • Beautiful

  • damn, nice job man!

  • very cool and accurate and like how you added to it, ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well apart from the wrong notes (in serrana) and some f*ck ups, that was great, now I imagine you play it perfectly slower, so good stuff. I'm learning it atm too. Hard to get up to a nice speed even if it isn't the most coordinated, then again we aren't JB!

  • Not bad. Not bad at all. It took me months to learn how to play this, it is fucking HARD.

  • That's some Unholy Talent right there dude... How do you practice that shit?

  • ur fingers go real fast lol

  • No shit

  • ahhh ql komo toca eso!??!?!?!?!?!

  • Why the inverted cross?

What has it possibly given to you.

  • oh man u gotta send me the tabs 4 this

  • superb! when you started playing guitar, you already listened to shred stuff??

  • u missed a note

  • funniest comment ever.

  • HOLY FUCK nice man!

One of the best on here

  • I gave you 5 stars but unscoop the mids. Anything not on the high E or B string completely lacks definition.

I wish I were as good as you though. Ah back to practice lol.

  • Nice sweeping. Keep it up brotha

  • I give you 5 but you deserve 10

  • se ve medio enfermo el wei jaja
