@TRaddcliff hearing the audio demos on the elektron site seems that the octatrack make pitch shift without stretching, and time stretch without pitching.. this on the specs too, have you try it?
@TRaddcliff seriously? fuuuu...!! Glad I never bit the bullet on an elektron as I had always presumed they could and it's the only form of sample pitching I have any interest in...
Roland do this with their SP samplers too and it shits me to tears!
@step2191 music gear market is unfortunately by its very nature monopolistic - except for things like workstations where every company makes one that is similar enough to compare/compete..
The only solution is DIY... time consuming but it's really not that hard!
@hageir no, it's because of the AUTOMATION of the VOlume. I asked for it before recording to see, how you can "Mute" sinle "STEPS" or "Slices" in one Loops, so he demoed it to me. not a fake.
@previewlounge but it's not in there when I asked him for how the steps correspond to the slices, he said you need to parameter lock (automate) the volume, so it is not like on the tribes like switching one "instrument" slice off but automating it's volume to 0 or current volume, the advantage of this is to re-dynamise the track and to automate everything else like it. - and even more missing, but I hope it shows SOME things
Would be cool to hear some other features other than you pitching down the track. Awesome machine though, can't wait to test it out!

is this fuckin thing even necessary? or useful?

this would be a nice unit if it could pitch up/down without stretching.
misses that mark

@TRaddcliff I thought it did? That's such a basic algorithm now and very easy to implement
audibleobsession 1 year ago
@audibleobsession none of the elektron stuff does. only pitch shift by stretching.
weak.

Hmm, the volume is turned all the way down, I wonder if it's fake? :)
