This small-mesh hay net is not anchored in any way. But to keep it completely out of the dirt, it can be clipped to a feeding tray or into an old water trough. There are more examples on my web site. It takes the horses about a week to get used to eating from a small-mesh net, and until then, they might bite a hole in the net, which happened to this net once six months ago and never since.
