  • inspiring...

  • Ive never seen a 3 person band be so bad ass before. Shit they make 6 person bands look like shit

  • I was there, amazing show, great bands.

  • MIND = BLOWN

  • yep i ran there sond for 5 weeks its a guitar

  • lol @ 2:48 "There's two guitarists!" "Where's the second one?!?"

  • I just heard of these guys 2 days ago.... wow is all I gotta say lol this stuff is awesome

  • Holy shit! When you listen to the album and hear just how awesome the drummer is, you can't believe he plays on such a puny fucking kit! SO BADASS!

  • @Freezaen The drums you hear on the album were programmed by Misha Mansoor (Bulb) of Periphery.

  • I actually cried watching this:)...tears of joy

  • Javier plays fucking guitar.

  • This is their very first live show, correct?

  • Javier use a 8 strings guitar. No octaver or anything else.

  • so much talent, but i think vocals would be a nice touch on some songs

  • sounds amazing for a camera capture

  • "they must have two guitarist"

    "where's the second one?"

"the one right there dude! its called a metaphor"

    "oh"

  • okay to clear things up for EVERYONE, its an 8 string. watch this video of them playin On Impulse. at about 2:22 - 2:31 Tosin's guitar cuts out for some reason. You can clearly hear the 2nd guitar rift being played. not a bass. video: watch?v=xoLRz5fgeu0&feature=related

  • fucken ah-mazing and didn't expect that heavy breakdown at the end schweeeeetness and a half.

  • i was there, so u guys can suck it lol jk

keep listenin to good music faggots

  • Fucking awesome live!, Animals as leaders is totally kicks ass on stage!, i love how Tosin plays, awesome guitarist with a amazing band.

  • I am officially in love with the eight string.

  • LMAO, at 3:08 that dude is totally air jerking off tosin

  • koperwies need a bigger set than fusion size, still keep it a 3 peice though!

  • @MackBarrow lol

  • theres actually no bass player in animals as leaders, tosin plays bass notes on the lower strings and just pumps out tone like a fucking monster

  • @Sienaband Seriously this argument has been raging on way to long...JAVIER REYES PLAYS A GUITAR!!

  • @MackBarrow Thats right dude, Javier reyes plays the guitar to, Chebon play the bass in this band i think, i also was confudes before with that. :)

  • @MackBarrow Yeah - Javier plays guitar. Tosin states that AAL doesn't require a bass because of the dynamic of both the players and extended scales (8 strings)

  • @MackBarrow Do you know if Javier uses any kind of octaver, or if all the bass tracks are prerecorded?

  • @OneisneO The bass tracks are pre-recorded and run through the PA along with the backing track.

  • @OneisneO Javier use a 8 strings guitar. No octaver or anything else.

  • @Sienaband right. tosin plays a bass that is just tuned really high :3

  • @Sienaband Dude! It's only 2 guitarists! and they both play 8 strings! Come on man get with the program!

  • @Sienaband yeah dude, two 8 string guitars mangggg

  • @Sienaband mackbarrows right he does play guitar.its an eight string

  • wtf where did all the songs go??

  • Rockin!!!

  • "This band RUCKS" hahah.

  • Love the end where 'an error has occurred' youtube can't handle epicness of this magnitude.

  • YYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

  • Is this just an excellent metallica cover? I THINK SO!

Really though, excellent sound you guys have. Even live it's extremely impressive. EVERYTHING sounds fantastic, and I want to see it live.

  • hey gents, i did a guitar cover of this - check it out on my channel!

  • Even with this lackluster video and audio quality, I still got chills. The section from 3:23, when the drums and lead line comes in.....doesn't get much better.

  • i like how the stupid noobs start moshing and jumping to the "beat" (if you want to call it that) and then suddenly realize that the song isn't in plain old 4/4... OOPSY!!! hahaha...

  • damn these guys are amazing

  • i cant wait to see these guys...

  • Where is bass player ??

  • GOD DAYYUMMM i wish these came to london. i would jizz everywhere if i saw these live!!!!!!!

  • Just like the record.. they nailed it! So fun to follow the conversation in the middel of the two guys behind the camera xD

  • black guitarist in a prog band???now thats rare..btw kick ass!!!

  • another black= Tony Macalpine: He plays with Planet X, Derek Sherinian and Steve Vai.

  • fuck yeah! i'm impressed that he can rock it with a three piece. \m/

  • so much better not live

  • Who's ready for Summer Slaughter!!

  • @Quadey1193 MEEE!!

  • @Quadey1193 i really really hop they play the denver show when S.S comes through.

  • @Quadey1193 FUCK YEAH!!!!

  • @Quadey1193 me motherfucker. worcester palladium all day

  • @Quadey1193 MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • 2:37 "this band RACKS!"

  • @reidcore its very true

  • Can't wait to see these guys at this year's Summer Slaughter show along with Cephalic Carnage, The Faceless, Vital Remians, Decrepit Birth, and DECAPITATED!!!

  • @hilltoprocks Don't forget Cattle Decapitation and The Red Chord!

  • @MassacreTheGods

Cattle Decapitation won't be playing where I'm at unfortunately :(

It's funny because they're from the city that I live in hahaha.

  • Hey camera guy SUCK MY NUTS AND SHUT THE FUCK UP.

who talks during this you ass!

  • @patkiehm wow your really effin cool there man. I sure as hell didn't film this for your sorry ass.

  • "YEEAAAAHHH!!!"

  • i just came a lil bit.

  • this band . this band saved my life. if it werent for their music i wouldnt be here today

  • look at the back and you'll notice a fourth guy there.. hes probably doing the sound effects, samples etc.

  • 3:20 ... oh my... jaw fuckin dropped

  • i wish that 5:41 yell was in the song

  • The kemetic hasn't even begun to smash on this music scene yet!!

  • what the hell tosin abasi. that's ridiculous.

  • it would sound so much better if there were 2 guitars

  • there is 2 guitars.. there's no bass.

  • @MawcDrums you must not get what i meant, i mean 2 guitarists on stage and not just looped guitar parts..

  • ahhh I see what you are saying.. It would be nice if the other guitar player played more than just the rhythm parts.. if he could carry over that tapping riff so Tosin could solo over it instead of just standing there ;p

  • @frankriley17 there are two guitarists on stage

  • no, you must not get what he meant....

there IS 2 guitarists on stage, just no bass player

  • they would look rediculous head banging to this stuff in timing lol

  • @MrRichardNoggin it would look fuckin awesome lol

  • nuttier than squirrel turds

  • this is wicked!

  • this album is really good, i just can't imagine it that way live.

  • GOD DAMN

  • these guys are missing some energy. but its probly hard when every guitar part is insane.

  • ya dude they should add some of missy elliott's backup dancers to the line up

  • awesome band pretty cool song

  • This is fucking class. Technique, groove aggression & soul. And tighter than a nun's nasty. Beautiful.

  • I fucking hate it when people diss three piece drum sets

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 it's a four piece...

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 3 piece drum sets own ALL!

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 it's not 3 piece. It's 4. Snare, plus 2 toms and bass :P

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 I agree dude

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 Exactly man. He still fucking slays it.

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0

its a four piece tom, floor tom, bass drum, and snare

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 3 pieces are kind of wack. This guy is using a 4 piece. Having one tom is kind of boring and not fun to play. But anyways, I think you meant 4 piece drum sets (each drum is a piece including the snare). Not trying to a prick but I almost replied thinking this was a 3 piece when it wasn't. BTW buckethead is awesome.

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 He plays a four piece.

  • @3ucketheadJuggal0 I mean four <.<

  • what a messed up conversation those idiots are having at 2:30.

  • YEA, ONLY IDIOTS HAVE CONVERSATIONS!

  • The Cliche these days is to call a rhythmic section in a song a break down. a break down is a slow down in the song, like at 2:30.

i myself call them breakdowns just so people know what im talking about, but i think its funny.

Animals as Leaders are the shit.

    Tosin Abasi is the shit.

And I, was at their first show.

    :P

  • Yes thank you! People have no idea what a breakdown really is, everyone now just associates it with "core" but really all music can have a breakdown. I just put up some new AAL live videos as well as some Periphery videos.

  • I don't even know why they call it a breakdown.

    It's just a break.

  • "This ban racks!" (sic) Hilarious!!

  • Amazing!

  • "That is a guitarist over there! That is a guitar!" Made me lol

  • This song blows my mind!

Would loved to have been there!

  • I laughed a little when I read this. It's notions such as this one that perpetuate the fad that is breakdowns. Yes, many bands use them. But...some use them wisely, I venture to say that this band is one of the wise ones; and some use them unwisely. But it no way are breakdowns a staple in contemporary metal music.

  • i agree that there are some bands out there that are JUST breakdowns and no musicality, but many other great bands do use them. take after the burial or all shall perish for instance.

  • @AL3X1SAN1NJA-I personally never got into either of those bands. Not saying they're not any good, just not my style.

  • (CONTINUED) I listen to many bands that are considered metal that have never used a breakdown. So, yes, many horrible metal-core, hard-core, death-core, whatever-core bands use them. But that doesn't make them "part of metal"

  • @inimicalODDITY Breakdowns are actually very common. Pantera, Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin are just some of the more well known bands that use breakdowns. A breakdown doesn't have to be some guy growling and the guitarist just playing a heavy chord over and over again- that is a typical metalcore breakdown. I don't listen to metalcore, and I agree, it gets annoying. But breakdowns are more common than you think.

  • no they are not, breakdowns are a part of core

and are one of the most over-used worthless sections of wasted time in any song and display no musical tallent in any sense

  • umm so???!! and have you listened to alot of technical death metal, The Faceless or Born of Osiris, when they have breakdowns it is hard to keep tempo, so right there is musical talent

  • thank you!

  • how cant you like the breakdown? Thats the first iv heard.

  • the sound of the future...

  • its nice to see such a good crowd for Tosin and Animals. I wish i was there

  • It is one big advantege not to live in some liittle, very fucked up country in eastern europe- you are able to see so many great musicians performing live in your home country. of course, there is Africa and China where things on this issue is in even worse position.

  • These guys are fucking amazing

sucks they dont have a bassist,

another good band is Scale the Summit they have an awesome bassist and use 8 strings as well

    prog metal is the shit

  • Yea STS is bomb I can't wait to see em with Cynic in Louisville.

  • No bassist?

  • correct

  • AH as awesome as they are imagine the possibilities for the bass under this

  • @barret707 the bass track is actually part of the samples in the backing track. they play the main guitars and drums, and extra synths and guitar layers and the bass track are all in the backing samples. you are hearing the bass very clearly in this clip, you just don´t know that´s what you´re hearing :)

  • Ah phew thanks man for clearing that up, im just listning through really bad speakers but these guys are incredible i can wait to see what tosin comes up with next

  • This shit makes me wanna dance krunk style this shit is the bomb lol

  • these guys rock soooo fuckin hard

  • FUCKIN EPIC. FUCK.

  • 2:42

"THIS MAN ROCKS, THIS MAN ROCKS!" You can hear their whole conversation lol

  • bulb produced AAL's album, read it in a interview somewhere...

  • @tar270 bulb is amazing

  • x3

    agreed

  • i heard of these guys a few weeks ago. i've been a fan of bulb and periphery for a while and it just so happens he programmed their drums for the album. i love this band soooo much. Great music Tosin!

  • personaly i think these guys are way better than periphery but thats just my opinion

  • the guitarists have similar characteristics

  • yeah but the song are better put togetter imo

  • true have you heard some of bulbs songs? Some r pretty rad

  • Yeah i like some of his song: all new material and stuff like that but still like Tosin songs more

  • hey mack...was this filmed with a q3?

  • no, it was filmed Samsung SMX-F34

  • @MackBarrow sounds good buddy....this band is sooooo good its ridiculous.

  • agreed

  • this is music.

  • stupid fucking reads moving there arms to a tempo, probobly screwing him up, dont they know mostof this shit is off time

  • How the fuck can you sit still to this music, it so moving!

  • because I wanted the video to turn out well, it was still really hard tho.

  • I love how this video started the clapping trend at 2:32. We did it at the Dallas show show and it's in all the other videos. Good job POPS!

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN,

I'm seriously at a loss for words, I'm beyond impressed, 3 man band with such a sick live energy, and he plays that complex shit so well and tight, this is my 10th time watching this (the other has better sound i think but this one shows crowd energy and all)

  • God, i wanna see them live so bad, i have to!!!!

  • Probably one of the greatest shows I've ever been to. Every band that played ruled.

  • great video. i would have given a nut to be at this show.

  • I was at this show, it went a little rough for them being only their third show. It was still epic as fuck though

  • seriously this video gave me the goose bumps. too bad i live in chicago and this show was 5 hours away (i have a suspended license and have friends that listen to rap) worst day of my fucking life. i even posted up on craigslist to pay someone 250 bucks to take me but no one replied!

  • fucking gr8 video

  • Amazing band.

  • Blown away. This is the sickest live shit I've seen in a long while.

  • Agreed.

  • What a drummer!! Like a prog metal version of Josh Freese. This bands music is only fit for outer space. 3:21 onwards is astral travelling. The fill at 4:08 finishing at 4:11 is pure class too. DAMN!!!

  • Holley shit man, I always thought that they wouldn't tour, considering the drums were programmed on the album. I only found out tonight. That guy is sick!! If only I was him. lol.

Plese AAL, come to england!! If anyone hears anything, plese give me a shout!

Thanks so much for the upload man!! :)

  • He use to play in Animosity, which is a different (yet sick) band.

  • AAL Was AMAZING in memphis TN last night

  • wow, this is seriously awesome, they're so good live! I love it!

  • TOSIN rips so hard!

  • goddamit i wish this show came through chicago. this PLUS VoM PLUS btbam. thats disgusting.

  • just saw them in dallas tonight at the house of blues with scale the summit! navene's bass drum head brok haha. amazing fucking show, super talented

  • your are so fucking lucky, STS and AAL are two of my favorite bands

  • yeah man it was a great show seriously! im not sure how far they are into the tour but look out for those scale the summit dates, they are headlining and they played A LOT of songs ahah

  • I'm gunna be seeing STS with Cynic, Devin Townsend Project, and BTBAM, I'm pretty excited for this one.

  • haha "TAKE SWITCHFOOT'S BASS DRUM! THEY DON'T NEED A DAMN BASS DRUM!" Antagonist was so out of place. I wish it was just AAL and STS so tosin could play a longer set. Still an incredible show.

  • ahah fuck yeah, i think the only other bands that would of sorta fit in would either be Periphery or After The Burial

  • Was so sick in Austin.

  • I can't believe I'm seeing them in just a few hours. Scale the summit + Animals as leaders + house of blues = yes.

  • My friend went to this show! I CANNOT BELIEVE I MISSED ITTTT!!!!!! :*(

  • I'm soooooooooo jealous!!! :(

  • FUCK-YESSSS!!!!!

  • OH MY GOD THE CHUGS AT THE END
