okay to clear things up for EVERYONE, its an 8 string. watch this video of them playin On Impulse. at about 2:22 - 2:31 Tosin's guitar cuts out for some reason. You can clearly hear the 2nd guitar rift being played. not a bass. video: watch?v=xoLRz5fgeu0&feature=related
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
man that dude in the video was saying that there is two guitar players...NOPE..lol only one the fella on the the left (stage right) is a Bass player..lol
@MackBarrow Yeah - Javier plays guitar. Tosin states that AAL doesn't require a bass because of the dynamic of both the players and extended scales (8 strings)
Even with this lackluster video and audio quality, I still got chills. The section from 3:23, when the drums and lead line comes in.....doesn't get much better.
i like how the stupid noobs start moshing and jumping to the "beat" (if you want to call it that) and then suddenly realize that the song isn't in plain old 4/4... OOPSY!!! hahaha...
Can't wait to see these guys at this year's Summer Slaughter show along with Cephalic Carnage, The Faceless, Vital Remians, Decrepit Birth, and DECAPITATED!!!
ahhh I see what you are saying.. It would be nice if the other guitar player played more than just the rhythm parts.. if he could carry over that tapping riff so Tosin could solo over it instead of just standing there ;p
@3ucketheadJuggal0 3 pieces are kind of wack. This guy is using a 4 piece. Having one tom is kind of boring and not fun to play. But anyways, I think you meant 4 piece drum sets (each drum is a piece including the snare). Not trying to a prick but I almost replied thinking this was a 3 piece when it wasn't. BTW buckethead is awesome.
Yes thank you! People have no idea what a breakdown really is, everyone now just associates it with "core" but really all music can have a breakdown. I just put up some new AAL live videos as well as some Periphery videos.
I laughed a little when I read this. It's notions such as this one that perpetuate the fad that is breakdowns. Yes, many bands use them. But...some use them wisely, I venture to say that this band is one of the wise ones; and some use them unwisely. But it no way are breakdowns a staple in contemporary metal music.
i agree that there are some bands out there that are JUST breakdowns and no musicality, but many other great bands do use them. take after the burial or all shall perish for instance.
(CONTINUED) I listen to many bands that are considered metal that have never used a breakdown. So, yes, many horrible metal-core, hard-core, death-core, whatever-core bands use them. But that doesn't make them "part of metal"
@inimicalODDITY Breakdowns are actually very common. Pantera, Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin are just some of the more well known bands that use breakdowns. A breakdown doesn't have to be some guy growling and the guitarist just playing a heavy chord over and over again- that is a typical metalcore breakdown. I don't listen to metalcore, and I agree, it gets annoying. But breakdowns are more common than you think.
umm so???!! and have you listened to alot of technical death metal, The Faceless or Born of Osiris, when they have breakdowns it is hard to keep tempo, so right there is musical talent
It is one big advantege not to live in some liittle, very fucked up country in eastern europe- you are able to see so many great musicians performing live in your home country. of course, there is Africa and China where things on this issue is in even worse position.
@barret707 the bass track is actually part of the samples in the backing track. they play the main guitars and drums, and extra synths and guitar layers and the bass track are all in the backing samples. you are hearing the bass very clearly in this clip, you just don´t know that´s what you´re hearing :)
Ah phew thanks man for clearing that up, im just listning through really bad speakers but these guys are incredible i can wait to see what tosin comes up with next
