It gets better when you say no to the sick homosexual movement! Don't fall for the "normalicy" sick perverted homosexualism. There's nothing normal or beneficial in it! Be brave, find friends who'll help you say no to gay propaganda and the sick culture it supports teaching to children!
Hi Joe, I think you are just great! It means a lot for me as a gay guy to get support from a cool straight dude. A guy that is not judgemental or doesnt`t freak out about gay stuff. It is appreciated! All the best from Amsterdam, Jonbasi
What a great story. Many kids seem to be unthinking in their cruelty at high school age and will think and act differently when they "grow up." So hang in there! Even many of us straight people hated high school. Those years seemed so long! It totally gets better!
You don't have to go to the SF Bay area, or Chicago or whatever for your life to get better. Joe doesn't know anything about Des Moines, but even in Des Moines there are gay adults leading happy, productive lives. Maybe small town life is hard for gays, but any city of any size has a gay community now. And to be honest high school is not the world. Once you graduate you have options you didn't have before. One of your options is to stay where you are. It gets better there too.
This discussion no matter who you are or where you are in life, is a positive life-affirming act of peace and defiance to this poison that harms us all, and Joe your video transcends everything that anyone can wish to hear, to feel like there is sanity in this world and I must thank you now for showing us all that the world can be a better place. Right on.
I wish there were more men like you. I definitely think its attractive for a man to not only NOT be homophobic but be supportive of the gay community. Good for you ... hopefully your video inspires other straight men to be more sensitive and understanding of others ... and that by doing that it in no way challenges their own sexuality or masculinity
Only posted 5/6 comments my whole time online but felt the need to respond to you. 43 yr old gay male here, reading the news lately about gay intolerance in response to the Prop 8 ruling & repeal of DADT & the suicides. Been wondering if secure straight men can empathize (& maybe even help?) with what I see as equality (not 'special' rights). You have done it & given a fantastic beacon of hope that it can happen. I can not thank you enough. You are truly a brave, secure, intelligent man. THANKS!
thank you so much for your personality and your honest video. it´s very important that the gay comuity is speaking and reaching out. now the gay comunity reached a certain puplic attention i think now it´s almost more important that straight people/man who understand and except that being gay is natural and not a threat or wrong, to stand up and make it easer for other straight people to share theire positiv opinion. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH. YOU ARE A COOL MAN! I COULD FALL IN LOVE :)
I don't think Joe is gay. He's so tottally straight that he's absolutely secure as a heterosexual man His sexuality does not get in the way of him wanting to be a friend to the other end of the sexual spectrum. I've known men like this, they are wonderful; and, of course, you can fall in love with a totally straight man. But even more wonderfully, they appreciate your love and sometimes even love you back, but believe me, they are straight. Hard to believe, but It's love, not just sex.
Do you know what you have done hear? You have given the other side a voice and made an example how a person can change from being a "dick" and grow up to be a person who can not only feel for another person but do something. You are great. Thanks.
This poor kid killed himself because he DIDN'T want the world to know that he had commited an homosexual act. Now we all know, thanks to people like you. This is wrong even by your own standards. Right?? You are exploting this child for your own gain. Shame on you!!
Thanks.( Mil Gracias ) for posting your story on "itgetsbetter", for me you are the definition of a real men ( that happens to be str8), keep it up , we will chanting for you happiness my friend.
Thank you. I've heard lots of stories about guys who had been jerks and bullies in high school apologizing when they meet their classmates years later. I'm impressed you began your enlightenment at an age when some of my classmates were still bullying anyone they saw as a victim. I think you're terrific--and so is Behemoth!
Thank you Joe, for having the courage to challenge yourself to be a better man and standing up to do something. I would argue that indeed, you are fabulous.
Thank you for telling your story Joe. It made me cry. It made me laugh. Don't sell yourself short. You are fabulous. I don't know too many straight guys who would make a video like this, want to work with the gay community, apologise for their past behaviour, or even wish they were gay. You are inspirational in my eyes and you have already made a difference. Thanks too to Behemoth. He's a sweetie, as much as you are. xo
Hey, thanks so much for making this video, and submitting it to It Gets Better. It's so great to include messages like this one in the project, telling kids that people change, and your life could be so different than how you think it's going to be.
I hope people didn't stop at that caveat, because that was so... I remember looking at people in high school and wondering how they would feel about [ ] in ten years. Depressingly, most of them feel the exact same. Watching this was so refreshing and inspiring. Thank you.
You gotta love the internet. People get to talk and people get to listen. And that's how you reach understanding, by having a conversation.
And ever time you understand something better, every time you get to know something better, you loose the fear of the unknown and you learn to accept and even love that what you didn't before. Great video.
Um people are BORN gay your ignorant fool.
What fucken bull shit!

@animefareast Oh, grow up you childish little twit.
You'll only get over your fear and hate through education.
You can either make the effort, or live the rest of your life in misery driven by ignorance.
