"He wont drag us to heaven if we dont want it. If we want out, we get out."
That twisted my mind a little bit. You have always said He's sovereign in saving us, and that we cannot escape from his hand and..... argh, i got lost in this one.
ANd i can see in your face [when you said that] that someone would think thats contradictory.
Yeah. God is sovereign in such a way that, when he keeps you, he keeps you in such a way that you don't want out. No one goes to heaven against his will. Take note of Piper's side comment "and then prove that we were never in."
@lucasdasilvamaria - Good catch. That was a little bit of Lordship Salvation double-speak coming out there. In their theology you cannot lose your salvation, but you can find out that you were a false believer, which proves that you were never saved to begin with. This is sort of the Calminian take on falling from grace; it's falling from your delusion of grace. I think we'll be astonished in glory at the number that had faith, though they didn't much look like it here.
He got God given wisdom. Thank you so much for the counsel Dr. John.

The assumption is that the one 'on fire' is genuinely so - this is why it is important to pray about it & also wait for the less commited party.
