  • This cartoon was originally released during the first spate of 3D films in the early 1950's. Chuck Jones is said to have been unimpressed with the process, thinking it a useless gimmick. The WB shield popping out at the beginning was his concession to the producer.

  • A 1954 cartoon.

  • I remember the song from my childhood. Why are children's songs always so morbid? Ring around the rosy is about a deadly disease (measles, or bubonic plague, I've heard both) and this one seems to celebrate a man's death. It's just creepy no wonder kids bring guns to school. We teach our kids about death really early.

  • @Azraelean

What a load of nonsense...When was the last time you brought a gun to school and shot all the students, I'm guessing never, and you learned those songs.

Songs, cartoons and games have NOTHING to do with how your kid turns out..UNLESS!! you completely abandon your child to only be raised by those things, effectively neglecting your job as a parent.

Please, debate how kids should be raised, but don't be stupid.

  • Thumbs up if that WB shield at the beginning of that episode scared the hell out of you.

  • The moose is the best.

  • im supposed to be writing a paper, darn you...

  • What's sup? Doc!

  • The dog's expressions while being scratched Cracks me up.

  • @alonevader7 I'd thumbs up your comment if I thought it would register.

  • Giant frisky puppy

  • @dakentaijutsu2010 Kinda cute, isn't he?

  • I'm just paying attention to the lyrics of "Jimmy Cracked Corn" and it sounds like it's about a slave celebrating his master's death. Never knew bugs sang such morbid music.

  • I wish I could see this cartoon in 3D, as it should be seen.

  • When my local TV station had this cartoon, they edited out several seconds involving the loaded gun AND the apple. Bugs went flying out of the moosecall and next thing you know, he's wrapping the dogs ear around his head.

  • love, love this episode!

  • And why did i just dawn on me that Bugs crawled in the dog's butt at 3:40 0_o

  • the classics--so much better than that new Looney Tunes show that they have on Cartoon Network!!!!---that show sucks!!!!!

  • @metallooney I, a bona fide Bugs Bunny fan, am in total agreement.

  • @littlenaitch2 it's disgusting what they did to the characters!!!! they made Gossamer look like a total wimp!!!!

  • It's Bullwinkle!

  • I thought this toon was loved by all

By young and old, and short and tall

Then who could have pressed disliiiike?

It musta been the Blue Tail Fly

Jimmy cracked corn, and I don't care...

  • Bugs Bunny plays Minecraft!!!

  • its hard to believe Bugs' character is about 70 years old

  • @JustinBlottin He's always had grey hair... (or is it hare) ...either way it makes him somewhat "timeless" therefor you don't notice the effects of his aging unlike Elmer Fudd who's had numerous liposuctions and obvious facelifts.

  • Bugs points to the tree as a way of telling Smidgen the dog that he can go relieve himself there. When people usually take dogs for a walk in the park, they usually go to the bathroom by a tree.

  • i dont get it... about the last part wher e bugs bunny points the dog to the giant tree? can someone tell me? please

  • That song "Blue Tail Fly" reminds me of Burl Ives sings that song.

  • You know the new Looney Tunes Show actually features a similar 3D WB shield logo to this one at the beginning. Antone else notice?

  • In your face shield.

  • This was one of the 1st of the Looney Tunes cartoons that used the 3D shield in the beginning. You gotta love the way the moose at 1st whinnies like a horse when he thinks the dog is another moose, then runs off yelping like a dog. Anyone also notice the dog is a dead ringer for either Frisky the pup, or Charlie Dog?

  • @valnats If I'm not mistaken, this is the only 3D cartoon that they attempted, the WB shield looking like it would jump out of the screen, but it was not successful....

  • @nighttrane1 It was indeed the only one of record. And as for success, the 3D gimmick wasn't successful, the cartoon itself was.

  • This was one of the 1st of the Looney Tunes cartoons that used the 3D shield in the beginning. You gotta love the way the moose at 1st whinnies like a horse when he thinks the dog is another moose, then runs off yelping like a dog.

  • Moose made horse sounds XD

  • HOLY EUREKA! I've discovered a carrot mine!

  • This is the very first Looney Tunes short to be 3D.

  • man i remember that WB logo scarin the bejesus outta me when it zoomed out like that i still flinch to this day haha but hey at least ill always know its this cartoon!

  • Keep pressing 7 for a funny moose dance!

  • hahahaha..

  • XD

  • Sorry dharmaseed, I've never had a dog like that before. I grew up poor....T_T

  • The dog is exactly like my corgi puppy.

  • How can Bugs Bunny be so popular w/ a name like Bugs Bunny?

  • I love the dog's body language and facial expressions at the end. Everyone in their life has had a dog like that at one time.

  • I thought Paul's friend was a blue ox, not a dog.

  • the logo overcooked it

  • @swingAE86-it was produced in 3D

  • 2:46 - The pony run he jump and pitch. . . he threw my master in the DITCH!

XD oh that line never gets old!

  • Oh it makes me so happy... :D

  • omg if all food was that big then we could end world hunger with just one farm!

  • I don't think that it was Mel who did Paul's voice. Doesn't sound like Mel. God bless!

  • @DaveWollenberg hes a man of 1000 voices he could voice him im pretty sure

  • I love how these cartoons made veggies like carrots and spinach seem delicious! haha

  • @Deadeye287 Well Carrots actually are delicious...spinach? Not so much.

  • @natalman Depends on how you cook it. Can be delicious!

  • I'd hate to clean up the coilers that dog would leave behind.

  • 4:50 LMAO!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY EUREKA! I DISCOVERED A CARROT MINE! lol i love his face during that.

  • I remember with June Bugs 2002, I was watching it, and since they were doing all the cartoons in alphabetical order, I was anticipating this short and "Mad as a Mars Hare" (which came right after), and I could tell this short was about to start when I saw the unusual ring design and the 3D zooming shield!

  • LOL THE MOOSE.

  • What a funny song.

"The dabble take the blue tail fly. Jimmy crack corn and i don't care. Jimmy crack corn and i don't care. Jimmy crack corn and i don't care. My master gone away." I have to learn that song. =P

  • @Tails41347 "The devil take the blue-tail fly..."

  • @TheHighTechLowLife My bad. ;P

  • CArtoon dosen't have these anymore

  • i'll lumber your jack

  • After this, I'll never get "Blue Tail Fly" out of my head....

  • Why'd they take this off of Boomerang???

  • @isetmfriendsofire .... Boggles the mind doesn't it ? I mean, why would ANY cartoon based network EVER take Bugs Bunny/Looney Toons completely out of their rotation ? It's Cartoon Programing 101, isn't it ? Or at least it should be. Step 1- Two hours minimum of Looney Toons a day on the schedule.

Thank God for Youtube. If you're an Xbox-er (check your local listings for other consoles in your area) you can find several of these in the Video Marketplace too. Not free, but worth it to me.

  • @ace2k707 I know, right? What we REALLY don't need, is that idiotic Adult Swim programmin'. Nobody, but nobody, watches that tripe!

  • Long live the moose call!

  • Haha Bugs Bunny trying to act tough

  • I bet this is where I first heard "Blue Tail Fly".

  • hmm.. looks like a torpeda....

    BANG!!!!!!!!!

  • 3:10 lol, the dog is 124 feet tall :D

  • Reaction on FOP at the beginning, (3D WB shield zooms) Cosmo and Wanda: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Cosmo: SUPER SCARY! (Second WB logo zooms 3D) Cosmo and Wanda: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • @simone67053 Reaction of SMB (Mario & Luigi) at the beginning,

    (3D WB logo zooms)

    Luigi: (Shoutiing scarely) MAMMA MIAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Mario: (to Luigi) Luigi, it's only a Warner Bros Logo, remember that we're 3D age

    (Second WB logo zooms 3D)

Mario: I GOTTA GO WITH YOUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The, um, moose....made..horse sounds??? And then he yelped? Odd that.

  • @Panagyra It probably has something to do with a dog's 4,6K tons weight

  • Bugs Bunny is one of my absolute favorite cartoon characters of all.

  • @mathislimitless its mine too! High Five Bugs Bunny Lover!

  • @mathislimitless ya same her

  • @mathislimitless mine too!

  • This cartoon was also featured in the new Looney Tunes Super Stars DVD which was part of Bugs Bunny which is my new favorite cartoon character than Spongebob.

  • When I was a kid, Bugs Bunny made me think carrots tasted yummy. Then I tried one and it was disgustin'

  • i like this cuter bugs compared to his more crude self

  • @southsydney THIS version IS Bugs. He's always been a rude little bastard.

  • I love how the moose sounds like a horse!

  • WOW! Bugs actually sang pretty good at the beginning!

  • 5:37 favorite part XD

  • why would people dislike loony toons its like the best for all ages!

  • bugs bunny singing = he wins x factor

  • 5:38 - 5:50 LOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont get the end, whats with the redwood?

  • @xbl2010 think...what do dogs do to trees? lol ^_______^

  • Mel Blanc is a genius doing all those voices.

  • That dog's name tag showed his weight as 4,600 TONS?? 4,600 POUNDS, maybe....but 4,600 TONS?? I don't think so!!

  • @knightryderrwn Well of course bc he's 124ft & 6 inches! Lol he should weigh as much as a couple of sports cars.. :P

  • @LadyTHarris,

Okay, but how many sports cars weigh 4,600 TONS?? 4,600 POUNDS still seems more logical (to me, at least.) :P

  • @knightryderrwn Lol, I understand what you mean by the lbs/tons but its a cartoon and was possible just written that way for kicks! Hahaha it sure got an reaction out of us.. :-P

  • @LadyTHarris,

That it did!! I guess it falls under the heading of "Details!! DON'T BOTHER ME WITH DETAILS!!!" Oh, well, it still made for interesting discussion, wouldn't you agree?? :)

  • @knightryderrwn Yes! I most def Agree! :-P

  • the carrot mine would be pretty cool in real life actually........

  • i miss this type of bugs bunny~ much cuter than wat is nw..

  • 3:24 "I'll be scared later. Right now, I'm too mad!" I just love Bugs at that part. It's the best!

  • Bugs version of Blue Tail Fly is pretty good, but I prefer Homer Simpsons version

"Jimmy crack corn and I don't care Jimmy crack corn and I'm not there We built this city on rock and r-o-o-o-ll Something, something, day."

  • Ted Turner dont give a damn about cartoon network....

  • I'd love to befriend such a big dog like that. :3

  • could someone give the lyrics to the song?

  • The Procrastinating Hare Gets His Way Again

  • Lol this is such classic humor. i miss it so....

  • CURSE YOU, BLUETAIL FLY!!!!!!!! >:^P

  • why don they show this anymore :'(?

  • Best rendition of "Blue Tail Fly" I've ever heard.

  • @wmlfan9 only time I can think of a cartoon making a song about a slave master's death sound even more charming

  • Looks like a torpedo

  • Now we know where Viacom got their idea for "The V of Doom" in 1975.

  • Since the mid 80's, cartoonists forgot how to draw.

  • 5:38 - 5:55 Dog's really enjoyin that scratchin aint he?

  • the warner bros sing pops out of you it looks like this cartoon is in 3D

  • lol the worm

  • Hey, USAFREEDOM(etc).

I grew up in the 1960's and you don't know what you're talking about.

Stop blaming the "liberal media" for everything that you think went wrong in America (like equal rights for non-whites).

  • ''looks like a torpeda''....LMAO

  • Currently on cartoon network, there is a "reality tv" cartoon... WTFTWTF?!?!

I also find any live action shows on cartoon network ridiculous...it's like how MTV doesn't play music videos anymore... I feel sorry for this generation of kids...

  • @afireflysignal

Cartoon Network's dull now..it seems they sold out..as for MTV..more TV and no music...

  • The Big Dogs name ia SMIDGEN !!

  • I'll be scared later, right now I'm too MAD !!

  • Yeah, roaver's cooking a miracle..... (1(CollinCreatedPerfectRepairLoyaltoCollin--HIBY)1)

  • Todays cartoons aint got nothing on the looney toons!!!!!

  • The sequence betwen Simdgen the giant dog and Bugs Bunny reminds me of the Road Runner cartoons! Except the dog nearly got Bugs!

This is probably the 1st time I heard most of the lyrics of the Jimmy crack corn song. Last time I heard it was Kurt Angle sininging it to Vince Mcmahon in WWF in 2001.

  • Cartoon Network made an egregious mistake by dumpin' the Looney Tunes cartoons. Anybody else think so, too? Write back and let me know. God bless!

  • Really? There still on on Boomerang in Ireland. Are Looney tunes gone from TV completely? Maybe it's because of all the controversial matters. Still, it would be terrible to see these gone for good.

  • @DaveWollenberg Damn right they made a mistake. Bring all 1000+ Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons back to television. In fact, bring them all on Blue-Ray.

  • Jimmy Crackcorn and I don't care my master's gone away !!!

  • "Holy Eureka!... I've discovered a carrot mine!".

  • @Freethinker12341 The Blue Tail Fly is actually a slave song about how the mighty can be destroyed by the small, the blue tail fly's bite KILLS the master. The message is slightly hidden but there were many aspects of slavery folklore that were very bravely critical of the horrific situation the slaves found themselves in!

  • Is this racist:

"Jimmy Crack Corn and I don't care, my ***Master's*** gone away"

  • Carrot Mine!!!!!!!!!

  • "hmmm funny lookin trees" XD

  • Fun to see - thx for posting.

    What year was this made?

  • it was made in 1954......

  • rover look! a gient red wood tree!

    lol (sorry for the spelling)

  • it might sound dumb.... but i dont get it.... i dont get the tree thing???

  • @Haniwa91 dogs pee on trees is what i got out of that one (hehehe)

  • This cartoon is included in the upcoming DVD release of "Looney Tunes All Stars - Bugs Bunny: Hare Extraordinare" which will be coming out in April. It features this cartoon for the first time ever on DVD, but this is a regular 2D version, but I hope it needs some 3D elements for this version, but I hope the 3D version is existing in this cartoon to promote 3D movies at home. Disney did well releasing the showcase disc On Blu-Ray featuring 3D content at home.

  • It has "Working for Peanuts" which is a 3D cartoon for Disney and trailers for 3D movies and how to put on your 3D glasses to watch it in the comfort of your home. I hope WB will get a better 3D version of "Lumberjack Rabbit" restored with red and blue shading on it will be in the upcoming Warner Brothers showcase disc in the near future. It will be on Blu-Ray.

  • Why does the Warner Brothers shield hit the tv screen on this one episode?

  • @lookingon65:

Lumber Jack Rabbit" is the only Warner Brothers cartoon filmed in 3-D.

  • "I'll be scared, later. Right now, I'm too mad!"

  • 4:25 - The sneezing sound effect would later be used in the Pink Panther cartoons.

  • Awesome, awesome, awesome.

    Best stuff ever.

  • funny, but a little confusing

  • HUGE W-B sign in the beginning!

  • Mike Murphy MO CITY thanks for sharing!

  • @ andoykids: Bugs is singing "Jimmy Crack Corn" also known as "Blue Tail Fly"

  • sometimes i wonder what happend to this kind of cartoonnetwork

  • @denverbroncos0311 Democrats banned them....to "protect" the children

  • @denverbroncos0311 The liberal, media based pondscum deemed it too violent for the generations od the 50's,60's,& 70's. Strange how when it was taken off the next generations were the ones who started shooting kinds in schools, after the no hope mentality cartoons that started in the late 80's aand 90's.

  • @denverbroncos0311 Since they started showing live action shows & movies.

  • @denverbroncos0311 gone down the toilet since 2006

  • @denverbroncos0311 ---I know EXACTLY what happened. But, what I don't know is---WHY?

Guess todays' world just can't handle it. Probably 'cause it takes too much effort to think, laugh, and enjoy with the MIND...?

  • @denverbroncos0311 It got meddled by too many executives and wannabee animators who mistakenly thinks they're the most creative force on Earth.

  • @denverbroncos0311 it went down the toilet like the rest of television

  • @Crossingman18 Not that disagree with you (cuz I DON'T), I gotta admit "Unnatural History" is pretty good. It's not a cartoon, but it's still good. "Tower Prep" looks good too.

  • @denverbroncos0311 evil corporations took it over

  • @denverbroncos0311 i hear it was because it was too violent and not educational

  • @denverbroncos0311 The librals got a hold of it

  • @denverbroncos0311 it took a massive shit,tthat's what

  • @denverbroncos0311 Several things. First, in an effort to cut costs, cartoon makers cut back on the amount of frames per second they drew, making newer cartoons look more choppy. Second, Warner Bros cartoons contained a lot of slapstick which, by the 1970s was re-labeled as 'violence.' For our sakes, :( some actually edited out all of the explosions and head hits and basically ruined these cartoons for later generations.

  • whats the name of the song Bugs is singing?

  • Blue Tail Fly
