Thank you Jesus, for loving and blessing a sinner like me. I am not the model Christian but you have never turned away form me, never forgotten that I am your son. It can not be said enough even if I spent the rest of my life saying it....Thank you for giving your life for mine.
Worlds Apart is the best piece of writing ever written the greatest song ever preformed. The meaning, the significance, the profoundness; the Grace. I don’t care who you are because everyone can relate to this song.
@DerrickGSanders It doesn’t matter if your religious or not, everyone comes to a time in their lives when this is what they experience. It doesn’t matter if you believed before, during, after or never, the point of the song is that is they have been either broken and/or selfish and/or hit rock bottom and they need the help of others, maybe God and/or Jesus, maybe not, that’s up to you.
@DerrickGSanders They need help to rebuild their lives to become better people. The point is there’s always a recovery, there’s always someone to pick you up, to be your grace. Embrace that. Embrace your Grace.
@DerrickGSanders Are we really worth dying for? Are sins for his life? Those two things are worlds apart. You can’t, I can’t, comprehend! Though we often forget, look at what has been done for us! if you don't respect this song then don't listen to it. Just leave us to find its Grace.
@WhereTheyAre So, are you saying that evil is a fault of God? If you kill a man, are you going to say that it's "not your fault?" If you rape a child, are you going to be in a position of "purity?" I'm not going to argue w/ you, but I am going to say that we are capable of being responsible for our own actions and understanding what we do throughout time. If evil actions are "of God," why then would a certain set of commandents exist from our Creator?
thank you God for giving and the taking away so I can be more like you through your grace, strength, mercy and compassion. your freedom is the only freedom that gives me true peace.
The sad thing about this is that there is no evidence to prove that the chrisitan god even exists. And religion is the virus in this world that starts wars, hate, discrimination, and genocide.
Jesus is not a religion. He is the saviour of this broken world. It's evilness that has caused all the brokeness in this world. People are starving not because of GOD but because of all of US - because of what we don't do for others. You will know GOD's people by their LOVE.
@ShotzMaster117 Judge not least you be judged. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that you can find love in your heart for me. Thank you and GOD bless.
One of Gods great gifts is the freedom to choose (free will). You choose what you want and I choose God and my eternal salvation by the sacrifice of his Son Jesus Christ. I choose to live with His holy Sprit and love. You have your choice, and opinion good luck with that. I will pray for you.
Oh cratered moon, and sparrows wings, and thunderous boom,.... and Saturn's rings, unveil a Father as you sing, and my souls wells up with hallelujahs.
Oh praise Him all His mighty works, there is no language where You cant be heard.... you song goes out to all the earth, and my soul wells up with hallelujahs.
Yeah, i'm here. No surprise you listen to weak, empty and weightless music, that just happens to come from a Christian band. Do you also like Justin Bieber?
Listen to some real music. Music made by people who don't use a religious book as a guideline because they actually think for themselves. People who make art for the sake of making art, not to circle-jerk under a false security blanket. People who actually live their lives, not waiting like sheep an imaginary heaven.
@WhereTheyAre So what was your question? YES DNA should be prove to you that God is there and exists.
I think that the secular government has lied to the people intentionally and unintentionally. The professors in school k-12 and even college present the hogwash theories arrogantly as fact or truth when it is hypothesis.
I am not going to get into a debate about foolishness.
Evolution take imagination. The bibles takes you to read and focus and open your eyes! Oh yeah it all just came to be
See the problem with our conversation is that you don't read what i'm typing.
The question was WHY would the scientific community lie to us?
Notice : I didn't say anything about any government, i'm talking about the vast majority of molecular biologists all around the world.
Answer the question please.
Also, if you think they're wrong, what validates your opinion? These people study this very subject all their lives, and most of them agree that DNA is evolved, not designed.
David, we have more evidence to support evolution than to support gravity. Apart from COUNTLESS evidence in the fossil record, natural and artificial selection, the anatomical and molecular record, we even OBSERVE evolutionary steps happening right in front of our eyes!
So what are you talking about? You refuse to accept parts of reality just because they're not compatible with a religious book!
Nobody implied that, but just for the sake of argument, let's say that i did.
So let's say, "The Universe just came to be."
You say, An invisible man with magic powers to do whatever he wants just came to be, and then he magically created this universe, and then he put humans on a planet, and left us no obvious evidence for all this but a book that really looks like mythology.
Do you see why your claim is FAR more unrealistic than mine?
@WhereTheyAre If we have order right now.... if we have matter now, if we have life and blood now, if we have this earth now, it is totally reasonable to assume that there must have always been matter and and order Creator and Maker.
Trying to go deeper than this is simply too far beyond out brains capability. God created us with the ability to question HIM!
This is tough to grasp! It is much to believe. But we can take the step of faith, take a leap! Dive in! See the Truth of Jesus
First of all, we don't have order. Just because you live in an advanced country, in a period that there are no wars and no comets fall from the sky, doesn't mean this universe is friendly for life. You happen to be here exactly because previous species died a horrible death by a random cosmic event.
Secondly, i pity you for limiting yourself to blindly believe a mythology book, rather than actually educating yourself to find the true beauty of our universe.
@WhereTheyAre God is in complete control. He has ordained those of us who are His own from before the foundations of the world were laid.
Again, God is in more control than the secular pagan, and even sometimes the Evangelical Christian likes to think.
We are not in control of our own destiny. God is. He ordained you and I to be here at this time. No not we ourselves. God knows you time left on this earth. He knows your heart and mind.
Listen David, not only you completely avoid my questions and arguments, you insist on replying with bold opinions and claims from the bible without even trying to back them up.
This is not a conversation, its you covering your ears (in this instance eyes) and shooting LALALALALALALA MY GOD EXISTS I DONT CARE WHAT YOU SAY LALALALALALALALA.
So under these circumstances, i can't go on. I feel like i'm talking to a brick wall.
The other danger is that when we question God, His existence, more importantly, His character...... the entire foundation from which we have been created and come from has to come into question.
So if you question God's existence, you start to question your own! Perhaps worse, if you question His character, you question the very one who created you! Very Dangerous indeed eh?
I choose to believe and trust in our God! Why don't you join me in a praise and glory to God
Dangerous? Well, it could be... if god was actually real, and not a character we imagined for an easy answer to our questions and control the uneducated masses.
I don't question god's existence, i question the people that originally claimed that a god exists. The bible is a book, written by men. You have never seen, or heard god. All you got is a little book.
And your bible orders you not to question anything. What kind of god would give such an order? A non-existent one.
And of course i'm going to question the foundations of my existence. But these foundations have nothing to do with invisible white bearded men in the sky some people imagined and wrote about it in a few books. God is a product of our imagination, our fears, and our ignorance.
Be humble towards this universe. Learn about the Big Bang, how our Earth came to be, how the moon was formed, learn about the REAL beauty and stop living in fantasy land.
@WhereTheyAre And it is my orders in the bible to no engage in frivolous arguments with unbelievers knowing fully that it only causes dissension and quarrelling. This has little productivity.
Think about it for a second. If you were a god, would you order your creations not to question your existence, while you never show yourself to them? It doesn't make sense! Why not allow them to question you, so you can prove them wrong, and make them love you even more?
Why would a god play hide and seek? Well, he does because WE MADE HIM UP!
Of course the people who wrote the bible don't want you to question god's existence. BECAUSE IF YOU DO, YOU REALIZE HE'S NOT THERE!
@WhereTheyAre I would challenge you to look up on a clear night and see the glory of God... behold a sunset and see His handy work. Behold the Northern lights.
Behold a breaching whale, a shooting star, the falling snow, the rising mist!
Don't ruin the beauty of this universe by associating it with religious nonsense.
You don't feel the glory of the night sky because you're unaware of what you're looking at. Your religion teaches you that the rest of the universe is just a background, created for aesthetic reasons. The more you know about Cosmology the more it overwhelms you, and religious claims become more and more laughable.
this is a great band. to bad Jesus doesnt actually save. look at the 11 year old girl Jayceee Dugard, stolen at 11 and abused for 18 years. and where was Jesus? watching? certainly not saving. blindmen dont need saving, some of the best pianists are blind! it would be nice and necessary to me to have evil stopped, but the truth is better than thinking were saved from it. for the truth and better talent check out Rush CLOSER TO THE HEART and CARAVAN
@MultiRushfan If Jesus stopped us from doing evil, would we not label him a dictator for taking away our free will to choose what to do? You have your own opinion. You may have appeared to have spoken against Jesus being a "savior" b/c of evil's presence in the world, yet if it was stopped, would you not be againt Him in another way?
Nope. If Jesus magically changed our minds in order for us not to have the desire to do evil, we would label him a "Benevolent God" . We would still have "free will" (well not really since according to Christianity your actions are part of a gods plan, but when Christianity made any sense anyway?) just not the desire to harm others.
Now we label him a "human who decades after his death, a few people claimed he was the son of god".
@MultiRushfan You may not believe that Jesus saves. My first comment might imply that you are against Him...but, I'm sorry. You might not believe that he is a savior, but this may not mean that you are against him! You are who you are. You are against what you are against. You are for who and what you are for. But, overall, do you see my message about "if we were not able to choose our actions?"
@MultiRushfan You misunderstand the gospel. It is not that we are saved from bad things happening to us. Those who seek Christ are ultimately saved from the consequences of sin and punishment in hell. Christ helps us through bad things. We live in a fallen world and can be victim. God is not a fairy keeping us from all harm.
Go back to that day...That day you fell sobbing,saying,"Jesus, SAVE ME!!!"And just actually feeling the weight of sin on you,and how we fail in comparison to God's supernatural love and understanding for us.I remember that day... And I'm telling you it felt so, so, good, when I woke up the next morning...I just felt like i had been dead before that day, and I was finally alive and well,because the burden of sin, I had lain down at the cross.The day I said to Jesus, "My world,is yours to take."
EF is right. This art cuts deep. If you listened to the words, the message (the arrangement and performance were phenomenal), where do we go from here? That Dan sings "In a world I tried so hard to leave behind... to rid myself of all but love - to give and die". I'm not even there yet. Lord, I'm so selfish. So unloving of others, and so untrusting of you.
And so I ask: Where do we go from here? Just confess to the Lord and ask Him to change my heart?
This is an amazing song and every people should listen it and think about Jesus Christ. We have to change our heart and minds and leave God clean our feet and wash our pride. Jesus please take our world apart ! We need you . . .
@cfalde I have been there. you can't just appreciate this song without the religion. no half way crap. christianity doesn't work that way, and you, a "former" christian, as you call yourself, should know that. you had a bad experience with god and christianity, that is not God's fault. im not saying it's yours, but it is most definetely not his. you chose to quit on god. henever quits on you. I pray that you at least understand that.
Yes you can. Having been a music major in college and played for years before, I can appreciate the music for the emotion it invokes.
Your hedge in saying "im not saying it's yours" rings false. You have implied in the entire post that it is my fault. How very christian of you. I walked away from religon so I am a failure. I am sure Jesus is proud of the christian compassion you are showing right now.
Hey! When does what's his name change guitars? It's sometime off camera between 3:47 and 4:07. It's a miracle!
A bigger miracle is that He (our Lord) moves us to pray "take my world apart" and "serve the ones that I despise". "Watch the world I used to love, fall to dust and blow away."
No. This song is all about christianity and surrender to christ. The chord strike has more to do with the beauty of the emotion expressed. They honestly believe what they sing. It shows. And that expression of emotion is beautiful.
Having been a christian before I have heard all the personal relationship stuff before. God has done nothing on my behalf because he doesn't exsist. Jesus probably didn't either.
@cfalde Heya, you need an encounter with the Lord Jesus. You are valuable to God, don't throw away the Lord. He is real, but he is revealed personally to individual hearts, if you seek him with all your heart you will find him. Only one encounter with the living God will mess up your life :P
@cfalde that's like saying that the soldiers who fought in WWII did nothing for you. wow. some people bablieve this. just beceause you think you've experienced christianity doesn't mean you have the right to say that gog did nothing for you just beceause you never experienced it for yourself. Jesus died for everyone, including you and those who don't chose to believe it. god does exist, and one day, you will realise it.
That was a real war with real people fighting a real enemy.
As with your post above, your christian compassion is overwhelming. Nice arguement there of accusing me of not having been in the religion by saying "you think", You don't know my story and you don't know me. Therefore, you can't say anything about my experience with christianity. and to attempt it shows an extreme lack of compassion.
While i have no use for religion in my life. The passion and conviction in this song cannot be denied. Beauty can be found everywhere even if you don't believe the message.
@cfalde Maybe this song strikes a chord with you because it isn't about religion. There are those that have turned Christianity into a religion and so others get a misconception. This song is about having a relationship with a loving Creator and having humility before the ONe that loves us so much. Religion is about people trying to satisfy what they think is an angry God. They are trying to earn favor with HIm. Christianity is about accepting on faith what God has done on our behalf.
@cfalde whle you can appreciate the conviction, this song is a religeous song. there are references to the crucifiction and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. "Blood and water flow" has to be looked at as a religious lyric, because that is a specififc symbol to christianity. as well as the cross.
You're right, I don't know your past. The experience you had can either strengthen or strike down that person. Sometimes, I think I take myself too seriously and I thought it was interesting that you listen to music like that. My personal belief is that a song is an expression of ones belief or perspective of themselves. I am a musician so I take songs very seriously and try to figure out what that Artist is saying in their song.
When a guy is just rapping some crap about such shallow stuff like drugs, and sex like it's a dime a dozen. It just makes me so frustrated, but at the same time that there ignorance has blinded them. But a gift I see in you cfalde, is the ability to take something that you don't necessarily believe in, but find a good message and be optimistic about it. I've had my ups and downs in my walk as a Christian. During school, I didn't really have any friends, well, until a lot later in school
But anyways,I've said a bit of my sad Christian experience,because I was diligent in my faith,but also a bit hard on people who didn't live their Christian walk like I did...And that was my fault, because I am no judge,but only an observer.But looking at you, have you ever heard of the song "Beautiful" by MercyMe or "You Are More" by Tenth Avenue North.Those songs have a message that serves a cause that is the ONLY reason I serve my Savior.That message's name is very simple... It's Love
I don't think I've mentioned it,but I am also a musician.I have many instruments.One of them is called a tongue,which is used to lift up others and bring strength, and to praise my Savior.My hands to reach out to those in desperation, to those who just needs someone to wipe away their tears.My feet to run away from snares that are sure to trap me,such as lust,greed, and selfishness.My heart to beat a song of joy to show others that I am a beacon for Christ.And my soul which is my God's
And the instrument which is my teacher and conscience, the Holy Spirit. And the last one I shall mention, since I don't have to mention the rest of the important ones (haha) is my B flat trumpet. Yea, yea, it's a brass instrument, so what? I don't think it's loud and obnoxious like so many guitarists and bass players. But anyways, I don't care where you've been, 'cause I would slap you on the back anyways and say "Wasup homeslice! " (yes, homeslice, just deal with it, haha)
The posts I am making to cfalde are all directed non christians and I can only pray they don't take it as an offense, because search my words, and you will find no prejudice among them. I wouldn't care if you are broken person trapped in addiction of one of the trinkets of selfish, shallow, desires in this world. And I wouldn't care if you just say you're a Christian but not really sure what it is. I can understand that some of you may just be afraid to ask the right questions.
Truly I can understand that asking the right questions can just feel so stupid and so hard at the same time.Truly, truly, I understand. So I just want you to ask yourself this question, whether you believe in the resurrection or the death on the cross or not. "But did Jesus seem like His life reflected what He taught others? Did He mean what He say?" Personally, I believe Jesus is my Savior, or a crazy person who had no idea what He was doing. I've decided on Him being my Savior.
So by now, you're probably thinking I'm a complete idiot who knows nothing about life, or I could maybe have something here. That reference I made earlier when I said I wouldn't care if you're addicted to some shallow, selfish desire of this world, I was speaking of that I wouldn't care, because when I look at someone, I know there is a heart in there somewhere, somewhere aching in darkness just wanting someone to hear them out because you feel so utterly alone. But listen to me now!!!!
LISTEN TO ME NOW, PLEASE!!! That utter darkness filled with aching, knowing that you have to somehow escape. Listen, please.... One way or another you're going to try to get out of the darkness and get rid of the aching. And it feels like you should sometimes just end it because the loneliness tells you that you're meaningless and you can't make any effect in the world. So you decide to break free. We are all made with the need to break free, but can never really get away from it.
It seems like you can just get away from it for a few moments. We grow up with the need to break free,and as we grow up, our methods start getting less innocent. If you look at the world from my perspective, that is how the world works... Feeding off of people's needs to break free... Sometime you can even find that in listening to music. BUT PLEASE, PLEASE, LISTEN TO ME NOW!!! The aching... the darkness...the loneliness... They are all a product of sin and separation from God.
I am not joshing you in what I just said in the last post... How do I know this you ask? Because I have had the experience of being free from that Pit filled with darkness, and loneliness, and aching. In my Christian walk I tried meddling with those desires again and I saw the pit again. And I recalled what my Jesus Christ did, and it took me six months to realize that I wasn't living like a Christian should've been and I just cried out sobbing, " Just TAKE MY WORLD APART!!!!!!.........
I recall that in the Bible, Jesus seems to be revealing the message the Gospel and of His own death in a nutshell, saying," Whoever chooses to save his own life will lose it, but whoever chooses to lay down his life for another, will save it." According, to the Gospels, (Which I believe to be true not just because no one has proved them untrue, but also the power of their message.)Jesus layed His own life down for every single man, women, and child on the face of the earth.
Anyone who has yet to accept Jesus really is worlds apart from where they were meant to be. Which is in Jesus' love and His arms. He truly cares for those who are hurting or depressed or feel ike they can't go on. John 14:6
The irony is that we somehow think that God agrees with and endorses this Americana world that we built for ourselves and calls it good. What if God had something vastly different in mind? Oh that God would take apart my world, the things that I built where I call luxuries needs and comforts a demand. May He flip my world upside down.
The best song I have come across that describes the heart behind truly loving the Big Guy upstairs. About truly dying to this thing called flesh and the world and just casting all of your cares on Christ. About saying Father I can't do it on my own and I truly desire to live up to the example You set for me. I want to be like Jesus. -It takes all I am to believe in the mercy that covers me. :)
To love you - take my world apart To need you - I am on my knees To love you - take my world apart To need you - broken on my knees steal my heart and take the pain and wash the feet and cleanse my pride take the selfish, take the weak, and all the things I cannot hide take the beauty, take my tears the sin-soaked heart and make it yours take my world all apart take it now, take it now
When I repeatly keep on listening to this song that the band plays, it touches me so much because of how they are being so real with their music and worship which not a lot of bands to very much anymore... the message is really good and continue to listen to it! Reminds me when i'm writing my own music to be real about it too and don't let it be all filling but the real stuff that people can grab a hold of because god is in it! thanks jars of clay!!!
Awesome song. So thankful for bands like Jars of Clay who present a positive message to all who hear. They bless me daily and I pray for their continued love of God and the spread of their message. Thank you Lord God for these talented and gifted spirits who praise your name without hesitation! I am SO blessed!
@ExposedBands absolutley not a chance. They are very mainstream, and a lot of people might assume things about them based on the fact that they make a lot of money off what they do. However, i have listened to their music more than half of my life, and know that what they do comes from their hearts. I have also seen them lots of time in concert and seen it first hand. Listen to this song, and decide for yourself. As a fellow Christian, I am always sure to check on people's Biblical standpoint
@Sadielady1978 i have played with them onstage one time in nashville, what most people don't know is that they end every concert with a prayer and salvation speech for those who are unsaved. i have the dvd that this song is off of and what the dvd doesn't show is taht very thing. jars of clay has been and will always be about the love of Christ. even the bands name comes from the book of Eziekiel in the bible

If anyone can remember the name of this track and the name of the album it's on, I would really appreciate it. I only remember some lyrics to a song but not the name or album. Here is what I remember.
Like a dream needs a dreamer, and a bird has wings to fly, Lord this is how much I need you. Like a child to it's mother. I know it isn't much, but if any one will help me out, God bless you.
I basically consider myself an Atheist, but I have been a fan of Jars of clay for years now, they are truly talented and make beautiful music. I don't need to believe in GOD to recognize beauty. Jars of clay are beautiful.
I'm 43 years old and have claimed Christ as my Lord since age 19. Yet, I find I'm still so far from understanding what holiness means on this side of eternity. I still am like the publican beating his chest asking the Lord to have mercy on this pitiful sinner. I have grown in my faith and believe there is no other name under Heaven given to man by which we are saved. I go to church, pray to God, but the flesh is still a barrier and I go my own way so often. Forgive me Lord!!!
@x001m69 Hi, Holiness means separation, that's the hard part of being christian. Every time that you fail, ask for forgivness never forget that He always forgive us through his blood. Read his word to find how to stand firm, He will help you if you read his word and keep praying. Never give up. Someday it will be easy to make His will and not your will. God bless you!!! Blessed be his Name. Jesus!!!
@hackersville halleluyer!......someone once said.....sacrifice!? this is no sacrifice ,what He did was sacrifice. come on! sacrifise!? where would we be without Him? in the gutter!
Best song I've ever heard. Dan Haseltine has the greatest voice ever created... Stephen Mason has the best back up harmonies. Met 'em once... they seemed like awfully nice and humble men. I blessed to be able to hear the music of Jars. It changes my world... thanks guys. And thank you to the one that posted this song.
if only people realize what God has done for us at the cross. The righteous Judge who has declared us guilty, for leading a sinful life, has paid for the punishment we have to pay; by accepting death upon the cross, so that we, his beloved creations, who has fallen from grace, can obtain eternal life.

This is my favorite Jars of Clay songs and definitely the most beautiful song I've ever heard; musically and lyrically. What could be more beautiful than Christ's sacrifice for us?
this is the best song ever written. i don't know how to compare anything to it. to even think that anything comes close to God's love shown in this song is just false. LOVE THIS SONG AND LOSE YOURSELF IN IT!!!!!!!!!!
I like the song a lot. I like the video a lot. I just don't like the gooky photo of Jesus. Really? I mean who knows what HE looked like or looks like. He looks like the love you feel from Him after you've screw up for the nteenth time. He looks like the invisible doctor that mends your heart that's been ripped in half for the twelve hundred thirty third time. Why do people have to use gooky false images of god to worship Him?
@CELESTIALARIUM : The only thing worse than images of Jesus (and you are so right, we don't know what He looked like) is images of Him still on the cross or crucifixes. True, He died for our sins on the cross, but He is no longer on the cross. To worship some image of Him still on the cross or some piece of jewelry is idolatry.
@CELESTIALARIUM I agree to a point. Of course, Jesus was Jewish, so most likely darker, I have always had a problem with the blond haired blue eyed "portraits". It doesn't distract me from loving this song, though. We won't know what he looks like in His resurrected glory until He comes for us.............and does it matter?
I um...... uh..... well..... I learned of this song back in I believe 1996. I have always liked it and just rediscovered it again and have become quite emotional while listening to it in this live version which I have never heard...... I have strayed so far from where I should be in life right now that I dont know if I can even find my way back, nor do I know if I was ever there in the first place. This song gives me hope. Thanks to whomever posted this. Thanks
Just learned Jars will be performing less than 10 minutes from my house in October at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN. Under no circumstances short of death or the rapture will I miss this concert.
through this song God has minester to me hundreds of times, specially when i most needed it, God used this song to finish my deliverance and make me humble before him.
@hebefeso May His love and mercy be with you my friend. Being humbled makes us better people, as I have finally accepted that HE is way bigger than me. God bless you, Jake.
Simply. Greatest Love Story in the Universe. And most great love stories are just some variation of spinoff. A Perfect Being beyond all dimension and motivated by Love creates a masterpiece with a mind of its own. To share the love forever. In steps jealousy to twist and abduct and break the bond.
And Love finally crosses worlds, gives up His Very Nature as Deity, to undo the damage, win back His lost intended. To the point of death. Breaking the dark spell. Re-opening Forever. For us.
There is no way the Lord was not with this band when this song was written. The lyrics are so heart felt and sincere. Only a person repentent of a sinful life would be capable of penning the words to this song.
Have these guys been around about 2000 years give or take a few?
Bet when you see the gate you'll hear this song...Praying I'll hear it.......

DerrickGSanders 2 weeks ago 2

The sad thing about this is that there is no evidence to prove that the chrisitan god even exists. And religion is the virus in this world that starts wars, hate, discrimination, and genocide.

Jesus is not a religion. He is the saviour of this broken world. It's evilness that has caused all the brokeness in this world. People are starving not because of GOD but because of all of US - because of what we don't do for others. You will know GOD's people by their LOVE.

Oh yeah it all just came to be
EF2000CanFly 2 months ago
@EF2000CanFly
WhereTheyAre 2 months ago
@EF2000CanFly
Evolution takes imagination?
David, we have more evidence to support evolution than to support gravity. Apart from COUNTLESS evidence in the fossil record, natural and artificial selection, the anatomical and molecular record, we even OBSERVE evolutionary steps happening right in front of our eyes!
So what are you talking about? You refuse to accept parts of reality just because they're not compatible with a religious book!
Please, educate yourself, and see reality.
WhereTheyAre 2 months ago
@EF2000CanFly
"Oh yeah it all just came to be"
Nobody implied that, but just for the sake of argument, let's say that i did.
WhereTheyAre 2 months ago
@WhereTheyAre If we have order right now.... if we have matter now, if we have life and blood now, if we have this earth now, it is totally reasonable to assume that there must have always been matter and and order Creator and Maker.
Trying to go deeper than this is simply too far beyond out brains capability. God created us with the ability to question HIM!
This is tough to grasp! It is much to believe. But we can take the step of faith, take a leap! Dive in! See the Truth of Jesus
EF2000CanFly 2 months ago
@EF2000CanFly
Reality is better.
WhereTheyAre 2 months ago
@WhereTheyAre God is in complete control. He has ordained those of us who are His own from before the foundations of the world were laid.
Again, God is in more control than the secular pagan, and even sometimes the Evangelical Christian likes to think.
We are not in control of our own destiny. God is. He ordained you and I to be here at this time. No not we ourselves. God knows you time left on this earth. He knows your heart and mind.
Might it be to His glory friend.

I guess that's what religion does to people.

@WhereTheyAre
EF2000CanFly 1 month ago
@EF2000CanFly
WhereTheyAre 1 month ago
@EF2000CanFly
WhereTheyAre 1 month ago
@WhereTheyAre And it is my orders in the bible to no engage in frivolous arguments with unbelievers knowing fully that it only causes dissension and quarrelling. This has little productivity.
We should build each other up in peace and love
EF2000CanFly 1 month ago
@EF2000CanFly
WhereTheyAre 1 month ago
@WhereTheyAre I would challenge you to look up on a clear night and see the glory of God... behold a sunset and see His handy work. Behold the Northern lights.
Behold a breaching whale, a shooting star, the falling snow, the rising mist!
EF2000CanFly 1 month ago
@EF2000CanFly
Look at the night sky for what it truly is.

@WhereTheyAre But it also is to do with indoctrination. Some are blinded and lead the blind. So we have the blind lead the blind in the world.

"Some are blinded"
Ask yourself the following :
How do you know they are blind?
Do you have a degree in biology?
Do you have any advanced knowledge on the subject of DNA?
If intelligent design is obvious then how don't they easily see it? By spiritually blinded, don't you mean non-believers?
If intelligent design is there, why is believing a requirement and not the RESULT of studying DNA?
Does faith magically change the evidence to support intelligent design?

this is a great band. to bad Jesus doesnt actually save. look at the 11 year old girl Jayceee Dugard, stolen at 11 and abused for 18 years. and where was Jesus? watching? certainly not saving. blindmen dont need saving, some of the best pianists are blind! it would be nice and necessary to me to have evil stopped, but the truth is better than thinking were saved from it. for the truth and better talent check out Rush CLOSER TO THE HEART and CARAVAN
MultiRushfan 3 months ago
@MultiRushfan If Jesus stopped us from doing evil, would we not label him a dictator for taking away our free will to choose what to do? You have your own opinion. You may have appeared to have spoken against Jesus being a "savior" b/c of evil's presence in the world, yet if it was stopped, would you not be againt Him in another way?
77garfieldheights777 2 months ago
@77garfieldheights777
I hope i cleared that out for you.
WhereTheyAre 1 month ago
@WhereTheyAre "Evil actions" are not of God...
77garfieldheights777 1 month ago
@MultiRushfan You may not believe that Jesus saves. My first comment might imply that you are against Him...but, I'm sorry. You might not believe that he is a savior, but this may not mean that you are against him! You are who you are. You are against what you are against. You are for who and what you are for. But, overall, do you see my message about "if we were not able to choose our actions?"
77garfieldheights777 2 months ago

CrossOfWonders 7 months ago
EF is right. This art cuts deep. If you listened to the words, the message (the arrangement and performance were phenomenal), where do we go from here? That Dan sings "In a world I tried so hard to leave behind... to rid myself of all but love - to give and die". I'm not even there yet. Lord, I'm so selfish. So unloving of others, and so untrusting of you.
And so I ask: Where do we go from here? Just confess to the Lord and ask Him to change my heart?

@JREAMdesign that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. My experiences have taught me differently.
As I stated before, I can appreciate the emotion in the music without attributing it to god, jesus, or the flying spaghetti monster.
cfalde 8 months ago
@cfalde I have been there. you can't just appreciate this song without the religion. no half way crap. christianity doesn't work that way, and you, a "former" christian, as you call yourself, should know that. you had a bad experience with god and christianity, that is not God's fault. im not saying it's yours, but it is most definetely not his. you chose to quit on god. henever quits on you. I pray that you at least understand that.
FutureFamous95 8 months ago
@FutureFamous95
Yes you can. Having been a music major in college and played for years before, I can appreciate the music for the emotion it invokes.
Your hedge in saying "im not saying it's yours" rings false. You have implied in the entire post that it is my fault. How very christian of you. I walked away from religon so I am a failure. I am sure Jesus is proud of the christian compassion you are showing right now.
cfalde 8 months ago
CELESTIALARIUM 8 months ago
@x001m69
I can enjoy the emotion without religion.
cfalde 8 months ago
@cfalde Heya, you need an encounter with the Lord Jesus. You are valuable to God, don't throw away the Lord. He is real, but he is revealed personally to individual hearts, if you seek him with all your heart you will find him. Only one encounter with the living God will mess up your life :P
JREAMdesign 8 months ago
@cfalde that's like saying that the soldiers who fought in WWII did nothing for you. wow. some people bablieve this. just beceause you think you've experienced christianity doesn't mean you have the right to say that gog did nothing for you just beceause you never experienced it for yourself. Jesus died for everyone, including you and those who don't chose to believe it. god does exist, and one day, you will realise it.
FutureFamous95 8 months ago
@FutureFamous95 No its not.
That was a real war with real people fighting a real enemy.
As with your post above, your christian compassion is overwhelming. Nice arguement there of accusing me of not having been in the religion by saying "you think", You don't know my story and you don't know me. Therefore, you can't say anything about my experience with christianity. and to attempt it shows an extreme lack of compassion.

cfalde 8 months ago
@cfalde Maybe this song strikes a chord with you because it isn't about religion. There are those that have turned Christianity into a religion and so others get a misconception. This song is about having a relationship with a loving Creator and having humility before the ONe that loves us so much. Religion is about people trying to satisfy what they think is an angry God. They are trying to earn favor with HIm. Christianity is about accepting on faith what God has done on our behalf.
x001m69 8 months ago
@cfalde whle you can appreciate the conviction, this song is a religeous song. there are references to the crucifiction and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. "Blood and water flow" has to be looked at as a religious lyric, because that is a specififc symbol to christianity. as well as the cross.
FutureFamous95 8 months ago
@FutureFamous95 I am well aware that this a christian song. I owned the ablumn its on when I was.
Handel's Messiah is a religious work. Yet I can still enjoy it for the music without getting taken in by the message.
Just as I can enjoy the music of NineInchNails, Pantera, Emily Autumn, and on occasion Jars of Clay, and DC talk.
Music is emotion and there are times when I want to play with all of them.

CrossOfWonders 7 months ago

CrossOfWonders 7 months ago

CrossOfWonders 7 months ago
@cfalde
CrossOfWonders 7 months ago
@cfalde
CrossOfWonders 7 months ago
@cfalde
CrossOfWonders 7 months ago
@cfalde
CrossOfWonders 7 months ago
@cfalde
CrossOfWonders 7 months ago
@cfalde
CrossOfWonders 7 months ago 2
@CrossOfWonders
I'm finding that hard to grasp.
Wasn't Jesus suppose to be the son of god?
Didn't Jesus end up in heaven for all eternity?
Then when exactly the "sacrifice" part comes in?
How exactly he sacrificed his life, while he's still there, being a god? He killed his human form? That's it? Really? Big deal. Anyone would do it.
Millions of humans suffered more brutal deaths than his in the history of mankind. And they were human.
Your religion doesn't make sense.

Awesome song. So thankful for bands like Jars of Clay who present a positive message to all who hear. They bless me daily and I pray for their continued love of God and the spread of their message. Thank you Lord God for these talented and gifted spirits who praise your name without hesitation! I am SO blessed!

there's people that is saying Jars of clay are apostates...
what do you think about it?
I ask you as a christian because I don't know anything about their music...
ExposedBands 11 months ago
@ExposedBands absolutley not a chance. They are very mainstream, and a lot of people might assume things about them based on the fact that they make a lot of money off what they do. However, i have listened to their music more than half of my life, and know that what they do comes from their hearts. I have also seen them lots of time in concert and seen it first hand. Listen to this song, and decide for yourself. As a fellow Christian, I am always sure to check on people's Biblical standpoint
Sadielady1978 11 months ago

Forgive me Lord!!!
x001m69 1 year ago 2
@x001m69 Hi, Holiness means separation, that's the hard part of being christian. Every time that you fail, ask for forgivness never forget that He always forgive us through his blood. Read his word to find how to stand firm, He will help you if you read his word and keep praying. Never give up. Someday it will be easy to make His will and not your will. God bless you!!! Blessed be his Name. Jesus!!!

Take my world apart Father. Have mercy on us.

To me its a distraction, they dont look like him.
Good vid
CELESTIALARIUM 1 year ago
@CELESTIALARIUM : The only thing worse than images of Jesus (and you are so right, we don't know what He looked like) is images of Him still on the cross or crucifixes. True, He died for our sins on the cross, but He is no longer on the cross. To worship some image of Him still on the cross or some piece of jewelry is idolatry.
777notw 1 year ago
@CELESTIALARIUM I agree to a point. Of course, Jesus was Jewish, so most likely darker, I have always had a problem with the blond haired blue eyed "portraits". It doesn't distract me from loving this song, though. We won't know what he looks like in His resurrected glory until He comes for us.............and does it matter?

Stephen is just about the coolest person ever for switching guitars mid-song, and for the fact that I hadn't noticed until my 20th or so viewing.

I um...... uh..... Thanks
