@TheDarceChoke Ye u did say stop fighting. The "none of you know shit!" part is actually insulting to everyone who commented. What and ur not a keyboard warrior? because u lie about ur age and fuck around on videos like a bunch of giggling school girls? I train and have competed in Judo and just started back, I also train but don't compete in MMA and grappling. So by your theory ppl shouldn't comment on videos, even Judokas defending their sport?
@TheDarceChoke And if no one should argue on these comments then why have u bothered to say anything? U also commented on another video about him and made insulting comments on others so I think my comments to u were fair. U really think Manhoef would KO Hector round 1? Considering every time Melvin has fought anyone near the top ten he's lost and Lombard has fought some decent guys just hasn't beaten anyone great yet.
In America wrestling is popular hence a lot of wrestlers, Japan has a lot of Judokas, Brazil a lot of BJJ players but also many of them have black belts in Judo, Anderson Silva, Belfort, Wand, Werdum, Nog and Jacare all have Judo black belts so how many Judokas have titles? Quite a lot actually. Judo on its own in MMA not great (same as wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, etc.) but as part of a complete fighters skills its a great weapon.
@Jimmynable No, no, no. You never see Anderson Silva use judo and he has NEVER credited judo with any of his victories. He may have begun with that crap but his success comes from Mua Thai and BJJ. Nog's success came mostly from boxing and BJJ. Belfort's success comes from boxing mostly, with some BJJ and wrestling. These guys NEVER credit judo with their success and virtually never use judo techniques in the bouts. Olympic medalist judokas have tried MMA and never go far.
@Kellysayshello Sakurai is a Judoka wen do c him using it? Aoki is as well. BJJ and Judo share the same lineage they r not that much different I've done both. Put an Olympic medalist boxer in mma and c how well they do or a world champion MT, every successful MMA fighter has a knowledge of everything they need to look at Brock wen he didn't kno sub defense. Do some research into how well Judokas hav done in MMA, overall they hav over 75% win rate, ye it's useless...
Rick Hawn undefeated MMA fighter and Judo Olympian started fighting after four months of training, Fedor is a former Russian national champion in Judo. Nog and a great deal of Brazilian Top Team still train in Judo don't u think they would kno better than u or me if it's useless or not? U dnt kno wot ur talking about.
Judo instruction stresses application over theory. At the heart of judo strategy is the premise that sheer size and raw strength are no match for balance, skill and flexibility.
Every martial art has its own goods, advantages and benefits. Wrestling is fine. It uses its own strengths and techniques; a great feature about it is that there's no reliance on grabbing a uniform. Judo emphasizes tachi-waza, stand up techniques ; nage-waza, throws. BALANCE, standing on one's toes is the essence of judo. In a competition against equally skilled Judokas is hard to throw clean all the time. Overshooting happens often. Outside a skilled Judoka is a dangerous human weapon.
GO HECTOR...GO ALL THE WAY!!! Imagine him grabbing someone by his clothing outside the ring, on hard ground, he would not even need to strike, because he one hits the concrete hard, fast and the wrong way; " the game is over "..
yeah he took a couple of early losses in Pride, including to Mousasi-which is no shame, but seems to be on a role. Its time to fight some big names now...
Absolutely, people are not used to dealing with judo. It completely throws them off when they are used to BJJ and instead of just a ground game, they get thrown.
@CatholicConversion well said a lot of fighters now r throwing in techniques for various combat sports that other fighters aren't prepared for. IMO it doesn't take that much to adapt Judo for MMA. There are a lot of things u can do similar in Judo and Wrestling but the approach is a bit different for both in MMA both r great for MMA tho.
This guy needs to fight some REAL competition....only then can we tell how good he really is. Beating up a bunch of nobodies in second-rate shows doesn't count. Anybody can look good while beating up crappy competition. Look at the guys GSP fought. GSP has fought ALL the best fighters in the business and completely destroyed them. People can't say that this guy would "destroy everybody in the UFC" until he starts fighting true world-class top-ranked MMA fighters. THEN we'll talk.
in cuba my country there is no point of going to school because doctors get paid at the most $20 an hour. Is better to be in the streets fighting for a career, fighting pitbulls which is legal in cuba lol i remenber getting into my 1st fight at 7 years old and it was pretty cool i been training wrestling since im 7.

@egrojodnamra Mousasi would get destroyed and so would Lombard if he tried to stand with him. The only way Lombard would be able to compete is if he used his judo background and locked up with him. Still would love to see Hector out of Bellator and up against some high level competition.
@fearandloathinginNY yeah hector definitly one of those guys, that should be in the ufc, id imagine within 1-2 fights he would probably already be in the maincard of a ufc event.
@NoFrag0 sucks... theres not really any competition for him in bellator mw division, sucks badly, hes a strong heavy handed judoka, that would do wonders in the ufc, but man sucks ass
@Mannypacquia0 You can't say with any certainty how he'd do in the UFC. So far he's been the ultimate can crusher. When he faces somebody worth mentioning, then maybe we can see where he starts to fit in the MW division.
@IbelieveAliens but there ain't much mma figthers from Cuba, however cuban's are pretty good judakas, wrestlers and boxers... that's cuz I said it'll be interesting, plus I'm from the south aswell
@egrojodnamra Being cuban doesn't make him interesting cause cubans have always been good at Judo, Boxing, Jujitsu, and Aikido. In fact Cuba is considered to have the best Judocas in the world.
that guy is a beast I saw him on Bellator and I tell u if he gets in the UFC he will destroy people there, very technical fighter I think the only way to win a fight with him is with a very lucky punch
Naah... he's alright but why are all the cubans on this site such nut huggers? You cubans nned to be realistic; this guy is okay and is a good up-and-comer but he's not in the league of guys like GSP. To think that "the only way to beat him is with a lucky punch" is just plain stupid. There are lots of guys who are better strikers than him and better grapplers (wrestlers and BJJ artists). He's got potential but he still has a long way to go before people can say he'll "destoy the UFC" guys LOL
First off your prejudice on that post filled bunch of bs fuck off not everyone posting here is cuban. Second ufc is not the all and be all of mma fighters(but it is in money) there are other leagues that have way better fighters than the ufc and most dont want to go there because they dont want to sell their souls to dana. And third this video is old very old and this dude has talent no one can deny that.
Listen here little tonypollito, there was NOTHING prejudiced in my post. The people who are prejudiced are all the little cuban nut-huggers who are so chauvinistic in their fervor over this guy. I said that he IS talented and that he is an up-and-comer, but the Cuban fanatics and nationalists who are comparing him to GSP and saying that he "would destroy anybody in the UFC" are completely insane. Who has this guy fought? NOBODY! GSP beat Hughes, Penn, Sherk, etc basically EVERY top guy!
The only f**cking nut-hugger is you pal. I'm a Cuban, and a big, white one judoka, muai-tai boxer, street fighter on concrete, if I throw you, never mind grappling, it means paralysis don't go there. The best thing is that I'm a crazy one who could kick your ass in a heartbeat lmfao. end of story. You'd better don't know so shut the f**ck up..lololol
SoulCrusader, you are nothing more than a little BITCH with a big mouth! Fuck you, cocksucker! As for your laughable "judo throws on concrete" that doesn't mean shit. I've studied judo too and wrestling. The trouble with a judo throw is often they don't work and expose you to being slammed or thrown yourself. So you try a judo throw and I will just pick you up and spike your fucking head down into the concrete, bitch! Kick my ass? Don't make me laugh. Go back to playing video games Soul Crusader
@Kellysayshello Hey listen, what are you talking about? Stop addressing Cubans in a derogatory manner. I am a big white one and regardless of size, no fear is my main ingredient since birth. SoulCrusader is right, let people have their own opinion. You can not deny that Hector is a hell of a good fighter. Whether or not he'd make it in the UFC remains to be seen, I am a Judoka & done muai-thai boxing, all sorts of shit. I don't need wrestling or grappling to smack someone dead. NO clue.
@Fintolgano I'm not addressing all Cubans in a derogatory manner; I'm just bringing a little REALITY to these nut-huggers. This guy looks like he is an up-and-coming talent but some of these fucking fools are already trying to say he would beat GSP.....that's ridiculous! He has NEVER fought anybody anywhere near GSP's league. Its disrespectful to Canadians to say that somebody who hasn't fought any real competition would beat GSP.
And judo is more a liability in a real fight than a strength.
@Kellysayshello That judo doesn't work? Where have you been; what planet retard? Shut the fuck up whore. The only head you're gonna spike is my dick head motha fucker. You know shit! I don't make you laugh, I break your spine and break your fucking neck, too. Yo don't have a clue.
@SoulCrusader Yeah bitch, judo DOESN'T work most of the time. If you try a throw in a real fight, you are often off balance and a good wrestler will pick you up and slam you. I studied judo when I was a kid but switched to BJJ, wrestling, and kickboxing, because judo is too limited.
Yeah, you talk real big while you're hiding behind your computer, punk. I KNOW I would kick your little judoka ass! How many judo bitches are holding titles in MMA? Go fuck yourself, dick sucker.
@Kellysayshello im guessing you haven't seen Judo Techniques in Wrestling Matches. I live in San Diego California and if you go to a high school wrestling tournament, Judoka in high school who compete in wrestling will be on that podium hands down every time...what rank did you get to in Judo?
@Traave I've never heard of such a thing. Judo usually requires a gi to create handles for throws, while most wrestlers wear a one-piece (no handles). My friend competes in judo tournaments and is enrolled in judo (because it was cheap). He never did any martial arts training before in his life but borrowed BJJ techniques and wrestling that he learned from watching UFC, and in less than 1 year he was regularly tapping out judo brown belts while he was a white belt (which really pissed them off)
@Kellysayshello That's pretty obvious you know very little about Judo and MMA. "A friend of mine learned techniques from watching UFC and started tapping Judo fighters" hahaha...
@Kellysayshello Ok keyboard warrior. Go to the ground against Flavio Canto or Karo Parysian then.
Don't talk about what you don't know. I've been training in both arts for a long time and you're not gonna tap decent judo fighters being a white belt. Maybe in the U.S where there are a lot of McDojos.
@MinotaJJ I trained in Judo 3 years b4 doing BJJ and I cud hold my own with any blue belt my size sometimes even beat them when we rolled. They were trained by Braulio no less, obviously someone who makes biased comments about Judo's effectiveness like Kellysayshello did doesn't have any knowledge of Judo. And saying that Olympians haven't done well when they all have winning records and up until and maybe beyond after they made the switch 2 MMA most likely only trained Judo is a bit ignorant.
@Kellysayshello I trained Judo before starting Sambo and I've attended dozens of BJJ competitions (local and state-wide)...Also, my highest achieved level in Judo is earning 3rd in Jr. National Championships, which is a pretty decent achievement. I can tell you that you're right and wrong. In U.S. most Judo schools have 75% tachi-waza (standing) and 25% ne-waza (ground grappling). In Europe (Netherlands, UK, France, Russia, etc) Judo is 50/50 and the ground techniques are NOT watered down.
Lol, just stop talking dude. You are talking completely out of your ass.
Judo throws have become a regular part of MMA. Just ask Jon Jones. When mike goldberg says "OH LOOK AT THAT GRECO!" he doesn't know what he is talking about. Jones uses his LEGS with the upper body to get leverage and do awesome throws, and he attributes it to judo.
BJJ came from judo. Neither style is superior, it depends on the fighters.
@Kellysayshello Who isn't going to grab a gi if there is one? Judo doesn't require one to pull off a good amount of the throws. No offense but if your friend was still a white belt after a year and despite being in Judo tournaments it doesn't say much about where he trains.
@Kellysayshello Who isn't going to grab a gi if there is one? Judo doesn't require one to pull off a good amount of the throws. No offense but if your friend was still a white belt after a year and despite being in Judo tournaments it doesn't say much about where he trains.
@Kellysayshello Yeah, because there are no projection takedowns in Judo. When Conde Koma taught Judo to the Gracies they said he taught techniques with and without gi. Get your fat ass out of your chair and go do some training before saying a lot of bullshit by watching UFC. Even in UFC and MMA in general there are a lot of succesful Judokas. DHK is there undefeated in the UFC, took Diaz down multiple times who's known for having a great guard game and wasn't even close to being submitted.
@MinotaJJ You're right. Jon Jones' wrestling coach is ranked in Judo, thus Jones' takedowns are mostly Judo style takedowns. Fedor uses his Judo with success. Karo with success. Other MMA fighters Taktarov, Don Frye, Jacare, Manvel G., DHK, Oilenik, Rhadi Ferguson, Yoshida, Gegard Mousasi, Joe Stevenson, Shinya Aoki, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Ferrid Kheder and many others who hold black belts or have incorporated some Judo into their MMA game have had great success in MMA. Judo is powerful in MMA.
The difference is Hector is hungry as a wild dog..he already has mentally prepared himself when he enters the ring he will destroy his opponent..hes fucken tough as nails too..I presented him the winners trophy for a fight at Luna Park last year..hes made of concrete..GO SHANGO!!!!!
Well, this guy for being an amature is pretty good, but if he ever get's in real mma where there is high trained mma fighters he would have to learn the hardway.
i think its a variant from "kata goruma" in judo, which is really sideways or frontways, but he does it throwing the opponent from the back, lombard nearly always does it.
Un ex Judoca cubano que se piro hace como 5 años. Se quedo en Autralia y ahora va a debutar en el Yankee el 8 de este mes contra un muchacho que ha peleado en el UFC.
There's a clear disadvantage for the Judokas in the UFC. A "judoka" doesn't need gloves; even though you could perform some "judo" without gi, a judo player relies on catching a grip, yet the opponents wear no attire of any sort; in the real world people are clothed with whatever. Another big disadvantage is the fact that there's no "Concrete" as the ground. Because a good SMASH IS A GOOD SMASH. It's the equivalent to a KO, for the striker.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
hector lombard is not a world champion. he is a fake world champion. luke pezzutti, his trainer and promoter. invented a world title that noone has ever won before or fought for before. and put hector in a fight with a bum who also has never won a world championship. for this invented cfc world title. what a fucking joke they both are. hector is a fake world champ. everyone knows this in the mma industry. he has never fought a real champion in usa. he hides in sydney and fights for his trainer
oh my god, he's got so much technique and so much raw athletic exposive speed and power he's just making shit up. Man i'd love to see him fight some real competition

i like judo and bjj , but i dont like the way judo competitions rules are so much
i dont like the idea that when you get the throw you are awarded point then stand up i think it would be better if they kept going till they reached submission
Who sez that, obviously you don,t know judo there're also points awarded for submission. But if you get ippon for a throw why continue fighting, you already won. Now if you only got wazari or yuko with the throw then you go for a submission until you get full ippon or the referee stops the contest. Besides BJJ is just another form of judo, and judo another form of jujutsu.
thank you lobonegro4 for the clarification on judo rules yes its true i dont know very much about the point ruling since i have only taken part in karate do so far and was only speaking by my misunderstood observation
Sorry to disagree a little bit with you my cuban brother, but he will either start pacing himself to last longer or completly burn-out like most cuban athletes...Remeber Juan Torenas, Mexico City Olympics and the Montreal Olympics and now he's no longer been traine by cuban athletic trainers who have a well scientific method of developing the best prationers...Que tu crees de eso?

Second ufc is not the all and be all of mma fighters(but it is in money) there are other leagues that have way better fighters than the ufc and most dont want to go there because they dont want to sell their souls to dana. And third this video is old very old and this dude has talent no one can deny that.
tonypollitoXx69 2 years ago
Listen here little tonypollito, there was NOTHING prejudiced in my post. The people who are prejudiced are all the little cuban nut-huggers who are so chauvinistic in their fervor over this guy. I said that he IS talented and that he is an up-and-comer, but the Cuban fanatics and nationalists who are comparing him to GSP and saying that he "would destroy anybody in the UFC" are completely insane. Who has this guy fought? NOBODY! GSP beat Hughes, Penn, Sherk, etc basically EVERY top guy!
Kellysayshello 2 years ago
Leaave Hector and his cuban fans alone m.f.
SoulCrusader 2 years ago
SoulCrusader, you are nothing more than a little BITCH with a big mouth! Fuck you, cocksucker! As for your laughable "judo throws on concrete" that doesn't mean shit. I've studied judo too and wrestling. The trouble with a judo throw is often they don't work and expose you to being slammed or thrown yourself. So you try a judo throw and I will just pick you up and spike your fucking head down into the concrete, bitch! Kick my ass? Don't make me laugh. Go back to playing video games Soul Crusader
Kellysayshello 2 years ago
@Kellysayshello Hey listen, what are you talking about? Stop addressing Cubans in a derogatory manner. I am a big white one and regardless of size, no fear is my main ingredient since birth. SoulCrusader is right, let people have their own opinion. You can not deny that Hector is a hell of a good fighter. Whether or not he'd make it in the UFC remains to be seen, I am a Judoka & done muai-thai boxing, all sorts of shit. I don't need wrestling or grappling to smack someone dead. NO clue.
Fintolgano 1 year ago
@Fintolgano I'm not addressing all Cubans in a derogatory manner; I'm just bringing a little REALITY to these nut-huggers. This guy looks like he is an up-and-coming talent but some of these fucking fools are already trying to say he would beat GSP.....that's ridiculous! He has NEVER fought anybody anywhere near GSP's league. Its disrespectful to Canadians to say that somebody who hasn't fought any real competition would beat GSP.
And judo is more a liability in a real fight than a strength.
Kellysayshello 1 year ago
@Kellysayshello That judo doesn't work? Where have you been; what planet retard? Shut the fuck up whore. The only head you're gonna spike is my dick head motha fucker. You know shit! I don't make you laugh, I break your spine and break your fucking neck, too. Yo don't have a clue.
SoulCrusader 1 year ago
@SoulCrusader Yeah bitch, judo DOESN'T work most of the time. If you try a throw in a real fight, you are often off balance and a good wrestler will pick you up and slam you. I studied judo when I was a kid but switched to BJJ, wrestling, and kickboxing, because judo is too limited.
Yeah, you talk real big while you're hiding behind your computer, punk. I KNOW I would kick your little judoka ass! How many judo bitches are holding titles in MMA? Go fuck yourself, dick sucker.
Kellysayshello 1 year ago
@Kellysayshello im guessing you haven't seen Judo Techniques in Wrestling Matches. I live in San Diego California and if you go to a high school wrestling tournament, Judoka in high school who compete in wrestling will be on that podium hands down every time...what rank did you get to in Judo?
Traave 1 year ago
@Traave I've never heard of such a thing. Judo usually requires a gi to create handles for throws, while most wrestlers wear a one-piece (no handles). My friend competes in judo tournaments and is enrolled in judo (because it was cheap). He never did any martial arts training before in his life but borrowed BJJ techniques and wrestling that he learned from watching UFC, and in less than 1 year he was regularly tapping out judo brown belts while he was a white belt (which really pissed them off)
Kellysayshello 1 year ago
@Kellysayshello That's pretty obvious you know very little about Judo and MMA. "A friend of mine learned techniques from watching UFC and started tapping Judo fighters" hahaha...
MinotaJJ 1 year ago
@MinotaJJ Yup, happens all the time. Judo is basically a watered down version of juijitsu; everybody knows that.
Kellysayshello 9 months ago
@Kellysayshello Ok keyboard warrior. Go to the ground against Flavio Canto or Karo Parysian then.
Don't talk about what you don't know. I've been training in both arts for a long time and you're not gonna tap decent judo fighters being a white belt. Maybe in the U.S where there are a lot of McDojos.
MinotaJJ 9 months ago
@MinotaJJ I trained in Judo 3 years b4 doing BJJ and I cud hold my own with any blue belt my size sometimes even beat them when we rolled. They were trained by Braulio no less, obviously someone who makes biased comments about Judo's effectiveness like Kellysayshello did doesn't have any knowledge of Judo. And saying that Olympians haven't done well when they all have winning records and up until and maybe beyond after they made the switch 2 MMA most likely only trained Judo is a bit ignorant.
Jimmynable 8 months ago
@Kellysayshello I trained Judo before starting Sambo and I've attended dozens of BJJ competitions (local and state-wide)...Also, my highest achieved level in Judo is earning 3rd in Jr. National Championships, which is a pretty decent achievement. I can tell you that you're right and wrong. In U.S. most Judo schools have 75% tachi-waza (standing) and 25% ne-waza (ground grappling). In Europe (Netherlands, UK, France, Russia, etc) Judo is 50/50 and the ground techniques are NOT watered down.
pcjudosambo 9 months ago
@Kellysayshello Yup, and Judo is the father of BJJ. Maeda -> Carlos Gracie. Judo Master to BJJ Master. Pay respect where respect is due.
StaticSwagx 7 months ago
@Kellysayshello
Fedor is a judo blackbelt. Nuff said, homie.
filthyjames 11 months ago

MinotaJJ 9 months ago
Judo is powerful in MMA.

whats that spin called where he spins 180 degrees? @ 0:58 it's such an awesome move!
piggypoo 3 years ago
i think its a variant from "kata goruma" in judo, which is really sideways or frontways, but he does it throwing the opponent from the back, lombard nearly always does it.

It's the equivalent to a KO, for the striker.

hector lombard is not a world champion. he is a fake world champion. luke pezzutti, his trainer and promoter. invented a world title that noone has ever won before or fought for before. and put hector in a fight with a bum who also has never won a world championship. for this invented cfc world title. what a fucking joke they both are. hector is a fake world champ. everyone knows this in the mma industry. he has never fought a real champion in usa. he hides in sydney and fights for his trainer

i like judo and bjj , but i dont like the way judo competitions rules are so much
i dont like the idea that when you get the throw you are awarded point then stand up i think it would be better if they kept going till they reached submission
NakhitX 3 years ago
Who sez that, obviously you don,t know judo there're also points awarded for submission. But if you get ippon for a throw why continue fighting, you already won. Now if you only got wazari or yuko with the throw then you go for a submission until you get full ippon or the referee stops the contest. Besides BJJ is just another form of judo, and judo another form of jujutsu.
lobonegro4 3 years ago 2
thank you lobonegro4 for the clarification on judo rules yes its true i dont know very much about the point ruling since i have only taken part in karate do so far and was only speaking by my misunderstood observation
