A little bit of advice for you both? I'd say only ride the bus between Dusk and Dawn don't ride it after it gets dark you'll run into alot of the wrong kinds of people. Best thing to do about them? Get an ipod and chill while waiting for your stop...or a PSP or DS...anything portable really...except a pocket vibrator..those dont really count :P jk jk. I had to throw a joke in there somewhere.
and for the energy questions... look up stanley meyers, who advance the water fuel cell so far that we could run the entire world off it... no pollution... wouldnt stop global warming tho.
cant have water powered cars though... oil intrests cant be allowing that!
Locally produced biofuel is much better, but there is no way we could grow enough biofuel locally to meet the current local energy demands. The best thing for most people will be to find more energy-efficient modes of transit, and public transit fills that role perfectly.
Of course, you can always make public transit run on locally produced biofuel. Best of both worlds. :)
Great video! Good job promoting the bus - I like it when people tell you the truth and let you know you might meet a few crazies on the way. But it's all worth it for energy efficient public transportation!
Biofuel? One of the worst concepts ever. The energy demand of first world countries is so great that land to grow fuel will compete with land to grow food, which will lead to starvation in third world countries. And of course the land to grow these huge monocultures of biofuel crops all comes from burnt rain forest, so it's actually destroying carbon traps and HURTING the environment...
Hey, great video guys! And man, I thought catching buses here in Australia was a bad experience.. at least it's not scary. I'm a bit worried about catching them when I'm in LA in August now. haha. Maybe I'll just make sure to catch them during the day only! Really good to see the video out on the net though, and that you're promoting small changes that everyone can make! That rocks!
Save the leaves you rake up in the fall. DO NOT use mass produced toilet paper. Toilet tissue is the most overprocessed form of paper, full of cancer-causing chemicals. Keep fall leaves buried in a hole to keep them from getting dry and scratchy.
Thank for promoting riding the bus. This will definitely help conserve energy and we at "Eating With Hands" are happy to see your video and we applaud this. Please in return promote eating with hands to help save the environment.
SHANGHAI, China - One experimental clean-energy car runs on natural gas. Another uses ethanol distilled from corn. A third has a zero-emissions electric motor powered by a hydrogen fuel cell.
why have the US Auto Manufacturers resisted all these years? oil lobby.
Thanks for making this! It was entertaining and edgy and fun to watch. I hope L.A. will get some classier people on its buses for you to sit near! And don't give up! Keep it green!!
"On the basis of our [solar emission] research, we developed a scenario of a global cooling of the Earth's climate by the middle of this century and the beginning of a regular 200-year-long cycle of the climate's global warming at the start of the 22nd century," said the head of the space research sector [Khabibullo Abdusamatov]
Some of these comments raise many important questions, however, the most important thing for an individual to consider is this: Who is presenting an article of information and why. Above all, consider the source and the agenda of it's root provider. The best marketing is not really marketing at all.
Also, why do you seemingly latch onto the hype of 'electric cars' after watching that highly flawed Documentary? It's NOT the answer. Did you know that the Toyota Prius exerts more Co2 damage to the environment during its entire existense, from creation to demise, than a 4x4 Land Rover will? Where do you think dead batteries go? How much do you now about Industry Co2 emissions? It's a grave misconception and naive notion that eletric cars will 'save our planet'. They won't.
That is a myth. Have you ever researched the amount of energy used to manufacture batteries? It's miniscule compared to what is used to make the rest of the car, and the amount of fuel the car will consume in its lifetime will account for far more emissions than what was used to make it. Takes about 12 barrels of oil to make a car. That same car will use about 400 barrels of oil in its 150,000 mile life just for fuel. Land Rovers even more.
Electric cars, if getting their electricity from a coal plant(the dirtiest source), produce about 50% less CO2 than a comparable gas car, and > 90% reduction in particulates, CO, NOx, and other emissions. From wind and solar, they are pollution free(aside from what was generated making these things, which is again small). 45% of America's oil consumption is for automobile fuel. Electrics can eliminate this entirely. EVs aren't the best solution, but they will certainly help.
Great...some skirted, boobed-out bar-queens riding public transit, showing us how 'scary' and 'green' their actions are. Holy shit, are you really that stupid? What do you think the buses run on, flowers and pixi-dust? Also, grab some facts/clues like most people should. Co2 emissions are mainly caused by industry...not cars. Cars run cleaner now than ever before. Stop being airheads and educate yourself with real life facts before making uneducated vids.
If enough people are on the bus at a given time, the per passenger miles per gallon will be much higher than in a car. Everything we do has impact, but some things have greater overall environmental impact than others. You're right about CO2 emissions and industry, but cars are still a large part of the total, no matter how you look at it, and they are the lowm hanging fruit that can be plucked to reduce CO2 and other emissions if their fuel soure is changed to something sustainable.
Haha, great video! But...I'd never take a bus. I value my privacy and instant freedom way too much. Shelly you are really hot! When I get out of school from electrical engineering (assuming I pass) we could go for a cruise in my electric car if you'd like that. You drive! LOL
shelly i think you must be from the nice part of l.a cause you dont wear a mini skirt at night in l.a unless you want to get raped, or ur bustin tricks, so watch out...

So how does taking the bus instead of your car significantly save CO2?
What does the bus run on? Fresh air!
If you really want to save CO2 try walking or buy a bicycle.
Or better still you could cut down on useless emissions by keeping your trap shut!
I bet that was the last time you used the bus service anyway. Why not buy a diesel car and run on vegetable oil? That really is Green Fuel!
