Who said children has no power? Bob McGrath could have had a bright future as operatic tenor, but he chose singing and educating children through Sesame Street over decades.
I've never heard this version of this song until today, but it's really beautiful. I was watching Lawrence Welk earlier, and they played it. Thanks for posting so that I could hear it! 5 stars!
I first heard this version on Who's The Boss,a really,good,family-centered series from the 80s or 90s, and I have been searching for it obssesively since...nearly 10 years!
I got goosebumps when I heard this,though--this is BY FAR the best version of the song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bob was/is great. Sesame Street has been on 41 years! This record is RARE! I had always wanted to hear his stuff after Mitch Miller and before Sesame St. THANKS!
Bob McGrath was a protege of Mitch Miller and he had a huge following in Japan before he joined the cast of Sesame Street. In fact, the Sesame Street record "Sing Along With Bob" was a parody of "Sing Along With Mitch.":
Also Ed Ames, Jim Nabors, Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams, Robert Goulet, Vic Damone, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Bobby Vinton, Vic Dana, and the late Al Martino.
@nancyfloressantos -no, actually originally sung originally by Vic Dana in 1963 shortly after it was used in the film "Mondo Cane". "More" was originally an instrumental and lyrics were added later. My favorite version of this song was recorded by Frank SInatra with Count Basie and his Orchestra playing a Quincy Jones arrangement in 1963 (album released in 64).

@coronagarretts Thanks for the info....I really thought it was a Steve Lawrence original.........Andy Williams has his version, too. Wonder if if we have here Frank Sinatra's version. Will search for it ( :

Why didn't Columbia release this album through its Masterworks series? This wonderful voice really deserved it!

oh this is beautiful. I used to have a Bob McGrath album when I was a kid. I still love the way he sang "Everything is beautiful" on it.
Really nice images you used too. Thanks for posting
