  • superb idea

  • Thanks :-)

  • AWESOME!!!!! your my new hero, thank you so much for showing such a simple, cheep, easy way to water a garden!!!!

  • Thanks for commenting I appreciate it

  • I think after you are done growing hops and barley you can turn it upside down and make some good beer.

  • LOL Sounds like a good idea Thanks

  • Now that gives me an Idea for watering my plants while I'm gone for a day or two. Thanks for showing us this Walter. :-)

  • Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it :-)

  • Wow, I was looking through your old videos and wow that was a good Idea. It sure saves you a lot of time watering your Plants. :) Nice video

  • Thanks Casey

  • Nice idea, and thanks for furnishing me with one for my attempts next summer to grow tomatoes . I like how you lifted the far end of the pvc pipe, effectively increasing the water pressure somewhat throughout the length of the pipe and keeping the water over the plants, where you want it.

  • Thanks I hope you do well with it

  • This looks like a good system reusing stuff you have lying around which is great recycling. Your water is running/spouting out not dripping out so I would personally make the holes smaller so the water would take longer to empty from the drum and presumabley penetrate deeper but I guess it is trial and error and make sure your plant has an adequate dish drain around it. You have inspired me to try something similar with a garden hose which is more flexible that the pvc and see how I go. Thanks

  • Thanks I appreciate it. It has room for improvement for sure

  • There's to many people with too much money and not enough common sence buying products to do the same job as the redneck watering system. top vid, thank you!

  • Thanks for watching, I agree with you

  • That is a great idea i'm going to try this on my tomatos next year.

  • It works well Don, Thanks for commenting

  • very nicely done, wish G men had half the sence this man,

I would vote for him for President

donze52 channel says this was worth the watch

  • Thanks for commenting. I appreciate the compliment

  • @pwalpa

just so nice to see, useful stuff, by YOU and check out mine when time allows

so much smutt on internet, God SAVE AMERICA FROM THE CRAZIES

  • :)

  • Thanks:-)

  • nice

  • Gracias

  • can i just put holes in leaky hoses that im gonna trash anyways?

  • Yes, I think that would work but be careful not to make the holes too big. Remember you can always go back and make them bigger but it would be hard to make them smaller. Start with very small holes

  • @knelledkismet starting with smaller holes and making them bigger if needed was good advice. thank you

  • Nice job!

  • Thank you

  • Clever idea. When I saw redneck waterin' system, I thought for sure your "tank" would be an old Weber grill.

  • Thanks Mike perhaps I should incorporate one into the system LOL

  • When it works well, it is wise.! great idea! thanks . I'll think you should write a book,,

  • Thanks, I have done a bit of writting. Some you can read on my web site which is linked on my channel,

  • Nice work, I might use your idea soon. A lot easier than running plant to plant with the hose, blasting them with high pressure water haha

  • Thanks for watching, It beats standing out there squirting too

  • Great idea!

  • Thanks Dennis

  • dam great Idea may i make a.suggestion.Where your radiator hose come out you tank.put a fitting on there so you can put a automatic timer on there I have some thing simler.. 55 gallon drum.I put a regular hydrant fitting in to the bottom of the drum then fitted a automatic timer from walmart on the hydrant

  • Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it

  • I like your style. Thanks for the great idea.

  • Thanks LG

  • Excellent piece of engineering, my friend. Shows why we men like to stow away all those odds and ends stuff in the back of the shed....you never know what you can build out of them one day, like a pool filter drip line!

    Thanks for sharing! BB

  • Thanks, I know I do a bit of saving stuff LOL

  • Nuthin like layin some pipe.

  • Thanks for watching

  • i think the first one better than the second one

  • Thanks for watching you may be right

  • VERY COOL!

  • Thanks very much

  • FANTASTIC!!!! Keep up the GREAT!!! Work! Thank You! God Bless You and Yours!

  • I appreciate your watching my video, Bless your and yours as well

  • It looks like the holes you drilled are too big. If you slow down the flow, the water would flow deeper into the ground and the plants roots would follow the water down and establish deeper. I had a similar system which delivered 20 gallons of water in about 5 hours.

  • Thanks for the suggestions and for watching.

  • I like it.

  • Thank you kindly, for watching and commenting

  • Try using a flush tank with an automatic cutoff. U could leve the supply open at very low pressure. I intend making this system for my potted plants when I am away for a month.

  • Good suggestion, Thanks

  • this is great stuff buddy. just gave me an idea on improving my own watering system.

  • Thats great, glad to help. Thanks for watching

  • great idea. every consider a shut off valve under the tank? To shut off when filling or shut off when raining this way the rain collects inside and you can turn it on when needed.

  • Yes, In fact I already got the valve, just need to install it, Thanks for watching

  • you are clearly showing such responsibility towards nature, we all have to learn from you.. thanks fro sharing this.. i am motivated.

    -- Chandan

  • Thanks Chandan for watching my video and the nice comment

  • Pin hole required

  • Thanks for watching and commenting

  • wisdom

  • Thank You for watching

  • well this world is gift from god for us, and every people like to improve the things but why we are not doing this. I read the comments of people if we think serious than we can do this and save this world.

  • I agree, Thank you for watching

  • Nice, if everyone will just think of ways to improve some aspect in our lives through simple innovation, then things would be a lot easier. Keep this up...

  • Thanks very much for watching, I will try

  • Very nice sir.

  • Thank You

  • With water flowing out that fast I wouldnt call it drip irrigation. Plants dont need so much water. This system wastes lots of water.

You must be filling water around 10 times a day since your container surely must get empty within a couple of minutes.

  • ima call the dea now for spreading info that will lead to illigel activites agianst usa gov

  • LOL

  • hey this is about the weed question, dont lie to us you do know

  • LOL, Oh yes it will keep weeds quite healthy

  • Does this work well on weed?

  • I wouldnt know

  • Just the way I like it: Cheap, easy, simple but works like a pro. You can read all the books you want but leave it up to rednecks to figure out how everybody can do it! No latin or biology, just redneck ingenuity. I love it man.

  • YeeeHawww LOL Thanks for watching

  • sweet. nice system

  • Thank You

  • Atta Boy.....well Done

  • Thanks Paul

  • Loved the video man, cant wait for those toms commin up !

  • @fttemI agree cant wait to eat a tomato sandwich

  • Thanks, can hardly wait to make a mater sandwich

  • If you put a valve on the tank, you can slow down your water flow and it will soak slower and better - good job though, I love it. Enjoy your maters :)

  • Aww man I thought that I was the first to do this. I just build something like this. LOL Well, I guess great minds think alike. haha I am posting a vid on it tonight.

  • Cool, I look forward to seeing it

  • Aww man I just did this. I thought I was the first. LOL I am posting a vid on it tonight. Great minds think a like.

  • You're my kind of redneck engineer. A little bit of work adds up to a whole lot of lazy lol. Good job.

  • LOL< bet your bottom dollar that if there is an easier way to do something, I will figure it out. Thanks for watching. hell yea Im born and bred redneck LOL

  • pwalpar (uploader) Thanks for the comment. Use you imagination no telling what you can come up with. Have you thought about a rain barrel. lots of water runs off the house when it rains. Just an idea. I dont think chlorine is strong enough to hurt the plants,. You can eliminte a lot of chlorine just by squirting it under pressure. The bubbles you see is the chlorine releasing in gas form.

  • @pwalpar Rainbarrels are an excellent idea, especially when drout and water restrictions hit. Too bad for me though, I've already reworked all my grading around the house and put the corrugated pipe on the ends of the downspouts underground. I'm sure I could engineer it tho lol ;)

  • good Idea.......Im going to build myself same thing this year.

  • Thanks for watching, and good luck with yours,

  • Love your video!!! Just goes to show that with a little brain power and time any one can build their own designed drip system to fit their needs.

  • Thanks Marisa, if there is an easier way to do somethin I will usually figure it out LOL Thanks for watching and rating

  • I really liked watching your video. Very clever idea. How did it work out for you? Did you get a good crop of tomatoes? One thing I thought might be helpful would be to put in a shutoff valve close to the filter. That way if the plants don't need the whole barrel full of water you can shut it off.

  • Thanks, yes it worked well and saved me a lot of time standing out there with the graden hose. The tomatoes did quite well and I canned a lot of the,. I like the valve idea

  • @pwalpar I was thinking about a valve too. I'm on a community well, and they put stuff in the water. Clorine/chloramine, something? So I was thinking you could fill it with the valve off, sense you just had it open and watered the plants.

This would alow the water to sit over night and let, in my case, the chlorine stuff go away.

    Thanks for the video!

I'm just (literally)getting started with my first gardening atempt. And had been thinking about something like this.

  • Why don't you funnel in rain water into your old sand filter so you don't need to fill it with your hose?

  • Thats a good idea, i will keep it in mind. Thanks for watching

  • I was thinking about one of these... I imagine the holes would be much smaller to allow for a slow drip. Maybe heat the pvc with a lighter and then poke it with a sowing needle.

  • That might work or I could just attach one of those slow drip hoses to it. Thanks for watching

  • slow drip hose. I will look it up mmmmkuay

  • Awesome! Very clever indeed! :)

  • Thanks I appreciate it, I occasionaly get a brainstorm LOL

  • red neck?????????

  • Yep--You Bet LOL

  • Very nice!

  • Thanks for watching and commenting

  • put a filter in it and use the pot as a rain water catcher

  • I had considered it as a possable rain barrel already, the filter is a good idea Thanks for watching and commenting

  • pretty cool

  • Thank You

  • Wheres the dope plants at Walt?

  • I think I will just get high on life LOL I may do an update soon Tomatoes are an anf getting bigger Thanks for watching

  • wouldn't you know it a carmans mind is always thinking ahead and taking the easy route

    way to go Walt

  • LOL Always look for an earier way Thanks wayne

  • There are a few of us around LOL

  • Good video Walter,

    And I thought I was redneck...LOL!!!

  • Great video Walter, I have peas, beets, corn, onions and radishes I will put in tomateos in a few weeks .

  • If My tiller wasnt broke Id do more but been too busy to fix it. LOL Send me a mess of corn LOL

  • Great idea.

My tomato plants still in the house.

Maybe plant on the 24th May

  • Bob, I suppose up there your growing season is a little later than here. But they wont make it in the house LOL Thanks for commenting

  • Very clever, Walter!! I have started some tomatoes myself, and hope they thrive and grow!!

  • Plant them fairly deep in that Missouri Dirt, water and cross your fingers, LOL Thanks for commenting

  • That is a really good Idea! Nice Job!

  • Thanks for commenting

  • Great Job!!!

    Bill

  • Thank You Bill

  • Most things were invented by a redneck. Necessity is the mother of invention(I stole that phrase)LOL. Excellent video Walter. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for rating and commenting Hans
