I think it is purposly ment to be Indian because in one of the books some marines travel to Mahabharath and its in India (Called New India in the Halo times)

its alright, i might have liked it more if the whistle wasnt playing, and if the other indian instruments were replaced with more orchestral equipment. To me, those just dont mix well with the halo style music.
