This is my godmother's husband, he's not on crack or tweaking he is just a hyper man. And he is not a loser he supported his family and being a bike messenger was his job so stfu!
Its a tough job. I worked as a bike messenger for 7 yrs. It was fun for the 1st 4 yrs, I perfected the art of riding bike in the city streets. and trust me if you want to make money in this day and age as a bike messenger , you have to take alot of risk,
thats one of the bad parts of it, and another part is after a while of working in the business you will feel trapped in the business. theres bike messengers out their
that have been working for over 10 yrs , and proud of it ........
i would like to see a 'where are they now?' w/ some of these guys... saw Squid clip from the Ellen Degenerate (?) Show. i don't look down on these guys. as a matter o' fact, i think they are pretty fuckin' punk rock!
@marlo916 tall buildings kill reception. They'd need radio repeaters on rooftops like the nyc police. It's cheaper to call. although, the cell phone walkies might be a good idea.
That's a real courier. He's out of his mind though. I've couriered in Auckland NZ for a couple of years, and most of the guys have all their marbles. I usually like to try and charm the clients a bit, and my employers appreciated that. Only a few people use fixies cause we've got so many hills. Mostly just the wannabe's on fixies. I've got a single speed made up but it's a freewheel and only for when my straight bar road bike breaks.
fixies are good if you are riding at the very least 46/13 though most of the guys I work with ride 52 t cranks. NYC is so flat that as long as you got some speed dynamics built in you can fly for miles in minutes.

oh great another bike messenger video. what a fucking boring shit. you do that for 10 years? one can hear. no brains 70IQ retarded asshole. get a life and a job asshole.
not that i dont appreciate the sentiments, but what exactly is he ungrateful for? i mean what is that guy doing for "majorpainful" that he should be grateful?
I've seen ALL this documentary. One man sums messengers up this way: "At first glance messengers look like the biggest fucking losers you ever saw. But they do what you would consider a week's worth of work, in a day".
You're right, "Skeletor" isn't the brightest button on the tunic, but he does his job well, obviously loves it, and provides a service that other people take for granted. This man has Balls of Steel and a great work ethic in my opinion.
not necessarily in new york with a mountain bike being used on the street you can fill the tire to a higher psi then actual mountain bikers and you have a advantage of pedaling straight less swerving around potholes.New york streets are horrible for road bikes and track bike tires.
pretty awesome messenger.doesn't look like a very good quality bike and he doesn't even have toe clips and if he got those legs just from riding a bike he is a genetic freak.
@maddfurey messenger work is usually 8 hrs a day. times that by 5 and that's forty hours of bike riding. not just flat lands, but hills, too. it's not at your own pace-there are rushes, direct deliveries-it's a cardiovascular/leg workout. trust me, i did it for two years and had legs like a god.
this dude is the real deal..bombing the streets on his huffy..its not the bike, its the rider..AWESOME CLIP.
