Such characters back then! We don't have the freedom like that anymore; everyone is polished and fake looking. Real people don't make it to the front lines of media now-a-days. Cool stuff. Please checkout rockabillygone all one word.
I agree with you Roy Buck. The talented musician is as rare as a Dodo bird nowadays. It all started with the marriage of C/W with rock and roll. The hybrid is not good of either.
this was by far the golden age of country music sad thing is that these guys if they were just starting out today the producers wud take one look at them and show them the door i miss the days when u actually had to have talent to make it in country music
Like the L'il Caesar Pizza commercial says, "This guy's GOOD!" What with his teeth needin' fixin' and those great, loose-hangin' 1950's trousers, Josh's lively singing and intense playin' make him sound jes so much BETTER! He's infectious. Kinda musical disease any bluegrasser would LIKE to get! Million thanks. Bob from Canada.
@BanjoBoyMatteo Yes, according to The Country Music Hall of Fame, this is from the earliest of their T.V.Shows and dates at 1955 or '56. Thx for the info about Josh's playing. Sounds like Josh improved rapidly!

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe none other than Merle Travis played guitar on the original recording of this song? (Grandpa Jones')

His teeth were ok. Part of his gig with F/S was to be the comedian so he used blackjack gum to black out his teeth

I've heard somewhere that this was actually shot in 1955. Josh's Dobro playing had gotten considerably better by 1956.
