Sufism is a type of mystical dimension of Islam that brings one closer to his Lord.Someone who practices Sufism is known as a Sufi. Sufism is one of the most important practices and beliefs in Islam. I was also someone who was confused about Sufism but once I found out, I considered it to be one of the most important practices and beliefs in Islam.I became interested in Sufism by looking at the Ottoman perspective.
i havent been exposed to sufism yet and grew up far from its influences. i have heard one side of the story and im eager to see another perspective too. i havent read anywhere (thats because of my limited reading) that the prophet used to whirl around or any of his companions did that. can anybody please tell me the reason why do the sufis do it, who started it and is it necessary.
I love the hypocrites who hate on this, it is beautiful that one chooses to dance for the glory of a higher power. Learn to respect it or go to hell, wahabi pig
If not the Qur'an, then the Sunnah, and if it's no in either, then it's an innovation in religion, and all innovations in religion are Bid'ah, and all Bid'ah is Dalaalah, or misguidance, and all misguidance is in HELL.
BEWARE OF THIS FILTHY DIRTY BID'AH that will DRAG IT'S FOLLOWERS TO HELL.
If there was any good in it whatsoever, then Allah's Messenger (s) would have been the first one to do it. But he didn't, so for you to do it and believe there is good in it is to say Muhammad (s) didn't fulfill his prophethood.
You're a very irrational person to think that everything was created from nothing and suddenly became everything with nothing to help it. Atheists are the last ones to speak about rationality.
No, I like most theists. I was one. You seem like a close-minded Arab. The fact that you persecute within your own religion is just plain stupid. Why would I be insecure with my lack of faith anyways? It's alot easier to say I BELIEVE than, hey this doesn't make any sense none of it does. I'm part of the most hated minority.
Dear all, firstly I would like to introduce myself: Mohamed El Askalany, an Egyptian muslim, and descendant of "Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani", the famous Shafiite Sunni scholar of Islam. I have been very interested in Sufism, espeically this ritual "Sema". I'm an Aikidoka as well, and you find several similarities between both ways. I don't have any words to describe my sadness to see that some Muslims carry such hate for everything around them. Sufism never harmed anyone. Sufism is about perfectionism

Imam Tartoushi al-Maliki (451H-520H) was asked about the Sufi's so he said: "The Madhab of the Sufi's is futile, ignorance, misguidance... and it is not allowed for anyone who believes in Allaah and the last day to be present with them, nor to help them upon their baseless ways and this is the way of Malik, Abu Haneefah, ash-Shaf'ee and other than them from the scholars of the Muslims and to Allaah belongs success."[See Tafseer Qurtubi 11/237/238]
And he (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) said: "... and every innovation is misguidance and all misguidance is in the Hellfire." Reported by an-Nasaa'ee (1/224) from Jaabir bin Abdullaah and it is saheeh as declared by Shaikh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah in Majmoo' ul-Fataawaa (3/58).
I heard that their right hand is always with the palm up to receive all the good vibes and the left hand is always with he palm down to get rid of the bad ones, is that correct? I love them they're so peaceful, almost angelical.
I guess they do not abide the laws of Islam, but since they do not belong to the Islam community, I still do not see why you have to be so intolerant towards the ways of others.
@Metropolitus - You should excuse him..he knows nothing better!. Didn't you notice the name 'Palestine46'.....poor folks...they have been getting slaps and nothing else for so long...that's all they know.
Sadly, what you see here is mostly for the entertainment of tourists. I doubt if some of these people are real sufis.

So where is "Dancing for the glory of a higher power" mentioned in the Qur'an? I must have missed that aya.
rnjigga 3 years ago
Does something have to be in the Qur'an for one to do it? Dancing is a form of prayer to some.

Well I'm an atheist anyways. You're just a very irrational person to think that dancers will be damned for their prayer.

At least I dont have to put up with a "god" who damns people for dancing. That's just fucking stupid.
Biggofwi 3 years ago
Getting all defensive! ...and with a rainbow of colorful vocabulary! Somebody's feeling insecure about their (lack of) faith...

I like Sufi's. They arent stupid, you on the other hand, are stupid

First you speak of rationality. Next you're probably going to say that I'm being rude because I believe in God, too...
