  • Nice car man, is it auto?. Ok let me get this str8, a 2jz is better cuz it has a longer stroke. From what I know, the stroke is the only difference really. All the accessories fit, use the same timing belt, even the bore is the same. In single turbo form, a 1jz is just as capable. The 2jz is more torquey, but the 1jz makes up for being able to rev higher.

  • @jamaicanlovrboy its all in your preference. The 1jz is a bit stronger since its turbo stock. If you swap out the internals on the 2j, get a thicker headgasket, along with other changes; its just as capable though.

    Going NA-T with the 2JZ-GE would have been a much better idea (more power before and after boost).

  • mate... ur a dumb ass.... any one hu knows a rats ass abt motors knows a 1JZ-GTE is a better than a 2JZ-GE.. even tho the 1J is a 2.5 (twin turb) n the 2J-GE is a 3 (N/A), 2JZ-GE wud shit it self if u threw a turb on there n boosted it...unlike the 1JZ-GTE which can take a beating of around 450+HP on stock internals... how ever the 2JZ-GTE is an abso-fukenloute beast... n is better than a 1JZ-GTE on most occassions : P

  • lol listen pussy... as "handicapped" as i might be i actually own a 94 soarer with a 1JZ.. and after owning and working on it for 2 years i think i know wat its capable of.. ive test driven a 1UZ-FE (sc400/soarer) and taken on a 2JZ-GE (supra).. n they both were not as quick as my 1J... so why dont u pull ur dick out of ur ass n try taking on an sc with a 1J.... then pls by all means come and try leaving an educated comment.

  • ...that's because your "1JZ" is a 1JZ-GTE. No shit you beat those cars, they both have NA motors. Try taking on a stock 2JZ-GTE and you'll get beat no doubt.

    I'm not saying the 1JZ-GTE is bad, I'm just saying the 2JZ-GTE is better in every single way.

  • dude if u look things up toyota only ever made a 1JZ-GTE.. there was never a 1JZ-GE... so no shit my 1J is a 1JZ-GTE..without a doubt the 2JZ-GTE is the best motor toyota ever made.. hands down! and thats wat i said in my first comment. best ever --> 2JZ-GTE then 1JZ-GTE and 7MGTE... even though the 1UZ and 2JZ-GE are good motors (specially the 1UZ in terms of reliability) they very rarely fall into the same league as the GTE's.... so all up simply put YET AGAIN 1JZ-GTE>2JZ-GE

  • Well.. Better ask Toyota about never making a 1jz-ge...The 1JZ-GE was invented long before the GTE version.. It was also rated at 200hp.. The 1jzGTE didnt arrive until 1990.. Mostly sold in Toyota Chasers,Mark 2 Supras, Verossas, Crowns, Crestas and Soarers..
