thank you :) my dad has a mark 2 cooper S fully restored.. it is a nice car and gets decent economy but has nowhere near the power of the mini bussa. love your work
this is magic!.. can you tell me what the economy is like.. is it better/ worse than standard? is it what you would call a daily driver or just for weekends ?
@waz00z If you are worried about economy, this car isn't really for you. It is thirsty, but then I am always at the red line (i'm told if you drive sensibly you get a decent mpg) It's more of a track car than a daily commuter, although there is no reason why you can't commute in it if you only need 2 seats and no luggage space . (and you have a good supply of earplugs)
If you want a commuter, z-cars do a Honda ztec conversion which is alot more practical, but in my view not as much fun.
Last insurance was £350 fully comp with all mods declared. I'm 35 with full no claims, I've had the mini a few years now which seems to make a difference with the insurance companies.
Cheers for the details. However I am 21 and dont think they would let me near one with a barge poll. xD
I have a 1996 Rover Mini with 20k genuine miles on the clock 1.3i. Good fun, but your one looks better ;) My insurance is £450 fully comp for that lol. And I have owned it for 4 years.
Theres nothing quite like overtaking another car in a mini, my MG metro 1275 does a good job, but the bike engined minis are the dogs, must be so much fun! :)
i want this engine in my racing mini cooper!!! my 1.3 has got an 100hp engine with a twin carburetor on it, and a racing exhaust. at least it only got about 120hp... :(
shit hot !!! we're doing a 1.6 8v vauxhall conversion at the mo, think we'll have to move to Scotland when it's done coz roads round here are shite and full of traffic unless you go iut at 3:30am, lol
In total about 20k. I cheated a little and got Z-cars to fit the kit so there was a good chunk in there for labour. If I was given £1 for each smile this car has put on my face, I'd have paid for the car twice over!
power to weight means nothing in top end, it's power Vs wind resistance, and it's probably limited by the diff and the small wheels that the bike engines not use to. still a cool car
yes but bikes are boring 1 seaters and lets face it you can't put 4 people on a bike, and girls don't like bikes, and the weather sucks on a bike... and mini's although scary aren't quite as dangerous, so yes not as fast as a bike, but better then a bike? yep
But it depends largely on the gear box/powering differential! ;)
If you've got short gears, meaning it revs up quicker through the gears, you'll reach a slower max speed, but be quicker on acceleration. If your running longer gears then you'll be accelerating slower, for a higher top speed.
they are very exspensive to build aswell and were talking 15 grand plus depending on spec
the engine .. well you just find a hyabusa and use the engine or look round a bike scrapyard
and the top speed is 125 because the engine is desinged to pull a motorbike that weigh's like 2-300 kg not a car that weigh's 600kg and the bike engine doesn't have a lot of torque like a car engine
i cant like this vid enough

@MiniBusa4Me , you could get 400 hp out of it with a turbo that would be insane

This comment has received too many negative votes show
it would have been cheaper to get a motorbike license and buy a hyabusa 0-60 under 2secs on a bike hyabusa

:D awesome!
hope you dont mind but i have a few Qs
how easy and expesive is it to build?
where did you get the engine?
why is the top speed 125? id have thought that with 300bhp per tonne the top end would be higher
