@arabianhorsegirl, Idina has said she would participate in the project but that she is now too old to play Elphaba. Her words. I think it's bunk and she could still easily play the role even 10 years from now, IMO.
I hope if(and hopefully when, tho I'm pretty sure they are) they make the movie they do it justice to the musical and hopefully use the original musical cast for the movie cast
god they can hardly keep their emotions in. I would give anything to have that kind of bond. I can't imagine how emotional it must feel for the original casts to do the last show.... So sad and beautiful.
@SquattleSquirrel It IS horrible to have a show end. I only do community theatre, and we did Godspell last spring. I was Judas, and the bond that the 10 of us on stage had showed every night as the 8 said goodbye to Jesus and I sang "On The Willows" in the wings. By the time we got to closing night, it was all I could do to keep my voice from cracking, because it WAS goodbye. We worked on that show for 6 months, taking it to state competition (we won best ensemble). :-) It's a FAMILY!

The last performances of a really good show are always amazing. Sure, you cry and can't look forward to any more, but the love you feel in your heart for everyone you've worked with is just the most amazing feeling!
Oh, man, this brings back so many memories of a play that I was in. It was the last show, and me and the guy playing Gaston (it was Beauty and the Beast) were, like, best friends, and during the scene where we were supposed to be fighting and yelling at each other, both of us were fighting back laughter. It's so emotional when a show closes or even when an actor leaves. You really become a family. I love watching this video.
Ok so people saying "no they're are really close" or "they hated each other" how the hell do you know?! even mrsdannyjones1000, who is judging based on the performance they saw.. they're ACTORS. so i don't think ANYONE can come to the conclusion they hated or loved each other. I saw this show, Kristin's last, and it was the saddest thing I've ever seen! I cried from Defying Gravity till the curtain closed! Wicked is the best show there will ever be on Broadway and there will NEVER be another pair who could make the show like Kristin and India did!

Since Kristin, and then Idina, left the show it has never been quite as good. Every night they brought a perfect special spark to the stage and to their characters, which no other actresses have yet perfected.
Guys, they absolutely did not hate each other.... I read Kristin's book, and they were good friends.... She did not leave because Idina won the Tony... she had just been working on it for about 4-5 years and felt it was time for a change....

This is so good. The chemistry between them is unmatched by any other. You can feel the true emotion through their performance. Its so cute that Kristin and Idina keep crying through their performance, it emphasises how much it meant to them to create such a amazing musical together. I think its very real the emotion between them. I have seen the speech Idina makes at the curtain call, its so sweet. You can tell they really liked eachother.
Guys I've seen the whole show when it was kristinsast performance. Idina and Kristin had a tromendous relationship and probably still do. Kristin was crying because it was her last performance after being glinda with idina as elphy for so long. In other points in her last performance they both cry like in For Good and just before One Short Day.

Wow, this is really good quality. @tanyarus, you can't find these on google and it's very difficult to find the whole show on youtube. It's normally "up for trade" I have a copy of her last but it's no where near this clear, and there are a ton of blackouts. I'm envious of this video !

@mrsdannyjones1000 It doesn't matter in theatre if you love or hate the cast you are with- they're family, all the same. You spend so much time with each other that you learn to love one another through the faults, through the fact that you may really not like each other, and through everything...it's family, and anyone leaving the cast leaves a hole in your heart. I don't know them, I don't know what they felt for each other, but it's still hard to be at the end of that road.

Iamwicked is right guys and Idina and Kristen DID get along and they never said specifically that she was crying in defying gravity. If you were there, what happenned during the popular scene? Idina is amazing so shut up. :) Iamwicked is amazing for seeing that she is haha x

@iamwicked78 No She didn't it was her last big number in her lst show of wicked, thats why she was crying, don't believe me? i was there and at the end they said why she was crying. :)

Wow, this is really good quality. @tanyarus, you can't find these on google and it's very difficult to find the whole show on youtube. It's normally "up for trade" I have a copy of her last but it's no where near this clear, and there are a ton of blackouts. I'm envious of this video !

i have a playlist of all the good versions of the songs. i hav 2 defying gravitys on there that are osm quality if you wanna check em ou. I didn't record them though, just made the playlist xD. Its missing a coupleo f songs though that I coludn't find, like Dear Old Shiz and Im Not that Girl. Its still kool though :P.
