I remember getting his autograph in Albuquerque NM, sometime in 07.. it was an HONOR to see this band play in front of me.. A performance out of this world.. and remember "The ending is just the beginning"- Dio.. Forever alive in our hearts and in his music.
I met ronnie in 2007 at the namm show in anaheim, ca and he was just the nicest person you can ever meet! so down to earth and talked to you like if you were a family member, god bless his soul and the music he left behind! No one like him ever!!!! He was the man on the silver mountain!!
@acrocksx5 i met ronnie in 2005 in moscow - i have a photo with him and his autograph. you're talking the right thing - he was nicest person i ever knew. i was really embarrased, shy, so he pated me on the back. great man. i was at his concert in march 2009 - he was singing like god. but he was so thin - and i thought that he's not well....

@ansionnachcliste YEA i went on ebay and that dude that touched dio...he is selling his hand for money! :D ,Its called *the hand that *ROCK-LOCKED* with Ronnie
@beaverteeth92 I am 13 and I'm uruguayan... I never had the chance to go to one of his concerts, but I'm not sad because of that... I'm sad because when he died I didn't even know who he was T_____T
Anyone know what was on the t-shirt that seemed to have pissed him off? I stopped the video on that frame, but can't really see all the text on the shirt.
He was LITERALLY dying from cancer at the time this footage was recorded, and he could STILL sing like that.
I saw the show two days before, on my birthday no less, in CT, and he sounded as brilliant as ever.
There are very few singers who are blessed with the natural ability to sing like that into one's 60s. We won't see the likes of him again for a while, I think.
i feel so blessed(and lucky) i was at this show. of course didnt know he was sick, i drove over from ohio cuz i went to the detroit show but showed up late and missed some of the show so i went to this one cuz i felt like i didnt get my fill from the detroit show.
Ronnie, we will miss you forever and ever, the best voice in metal, thanks for your great legacy of real and powerfull rock & roll. RIP from all of your peruvian fans...DIO SEGUIRÁ CON NOSOTROS...SALUDOS DESDE LIMA, PERÚ.
All I can say, is this: I followed DIO from his time in Elf, Rainbow, Sab, and QR Operation MCII, and this is one the most awesome videos I've seen capturing his vocals, on-stage performance, and his overall artistry. Thank you for posting!!
what venue was this? I think i was there, but will have to search for my ticket stub, since I have moved since then and so much is still in storage in boxes ... was this this house of blues?
You know, in a way it's hard to watch this clip knowing that Ronnie would be gone just a few months later. Ronnie was a great singer (the best), and, more importantly, a great person.
He is greatly missed. The world still needs Ronnie James Dio.
@ReservoirTip Would you be interested in trading this account for one of mine. All you use this account for is to watch videos. I actually use all the channel features. Stop by my channel and send me a message considering my offer.
I never liked his style, but I appreciated the impact he made on not just rock but music in general. It's depressingly sad that it took me almost a full year after his DEATH to look up clips of him performing live to realize holy shit, this guy rules.
You go out there, struggling with your cancer that hurts a lot, but singing your ass off and a moron throws you a shirt RIGHT in your face! ok, he didn´t mean it, but I understand Dio -.-
@holymariner1 dio got mad cuz he didnt like something about the tshirt not because the fan throw it. i think it has spmething to do with the egles football or something and Ronnies favorite is NY. i heard something like that. thats why he got pissed n because it almost hit him
one of the reasons ronnie may have not made it was because this was his life. to ronnie the show had to go on. he knew he was not well a few years ago. but he kept right on doing untill it was too late. I can respect a man for living his dreams. my grandfater never told anyone he was sick and in 2 days after knowing he saw gone. He did it his way. but just like ronnie he did it all for us. left it all on the stage.
It's still hard for me to believe that we now live in a world without Ronnie James Dio. What a loss. Mere words are hopelessly inadequate when trying to express the loss of the man, his voice, what he meant to so many fans, and what he means not just to Rock music & Metal, but to music of all genres. There's a large, gaping, and dark chasm in Rock music, and it's where this man used to be. We will always remember this giant of words and music.
What a fucking crying shame this genius of a singer had to go this way , he`d earned a comfy old age seeing out his days on a beach somewhere not ravaged like this ffs !
My tears wet the keyboard as I type, RIP Sir you were and still are one of the brightest stars in the rock n roll sky . - Its a shit world that would allow this - you are better off wherever you are now.
I remember when I was a kid, I always tried to sing like him. Amazing voice. If you compare his voice here with his voice back in the 70's you will see no difference. RIP the Great Ronnie James Dio.
@halo3cing I know what you mean....once I'd heard the first 5 mins of Back In Black....was the LAST TIME I ever bought/listened to/downloaded ANYTHING AC/DC. I have never senn DIO get so angry on stage. Something on the front of that shirt pissed him off. I can't quite see what it says. But it says something green?....... I don't. But Ronnie gives him the reverse peace sign. I think the shirt said 94.1 WYSP FM. It's the Philly rock station. Why they threw it at Dio who the hell knows. Add it to the list of the many reasons why I don't go to shows anymore. Too much money and the place is full of crazy drugged out, drunk assholes slamming into each other. RIP Ronnie.
Thanks Ronie James Dio for his sound, his talent for rock and left as a legacy to us all. This video is historic for the music world, for sure. Rest in peace. His voice is always echoing through the distances and in our hearts.
Im 27 yrs old, and the 1st song i was ever played was Black Sabbith - Heaven and Hell, when i was 2 yrs old. because of Ronnie, i started Singing, because of Tommy, i started playing Guitar, and because of Black Sabbith (Heaven and Hell) i started a band, and decided to play metal. Ronnie is my Idol, and in all the fans of Metal, Ronnie's legacy will Live on for Eternity in his music, in our Memories and Hearts
I seen him in chicago aug 19th 09.great show. my gf my sis nephew and I had a great time rocking out in chicago with dio and they other rock gods on stage. It was so good.I couldnt have imagined dio was ill and would be gone in 9 months.i sure wish they had caught that cancer eearlier. they were by far my favorite band. Now i have nobody to go see
Man, this was probably the most toughest musician death in a long time. Dio was a amazing vocalist and he will be missed. He sounds so great here....thanks for posting this.
@ARProductions2010 Yes, I agree. Ronnie believed his condition was improving just a month before he passed and it personally shocked the hell out of me when I saw the announcement on the news. Peter Steele's death just the month before surprised and devastated a lot of people as well, including myself. All who knew him said that his health had been improving and that he was planning to write a new Type O Negative album. 2010 was just not a good year for the world of heavy metal.
Thank you so much for sharing this! The day that Ronnie passed away it felt like a part of me died along with him. He will never be forgotten for as long as I live.
I remember getting his autograph in Albuquerque NM, sometime in 07.. it was an HONOR to see this band play in front of me.. A performance out of this world.. and remember "The ending is just the beginning"- Dio.. Forever alive in our hearts and in his music.

Przysięgam na Boga, że dzień jego śmierci był zdecydowanie najgorszym dniem w historii rock and roll.
