  • I remember getting his autograph in Albuquerque NM, sometime in 07.. it was an HONOR to see this band play in front of me.. A performance out of this world.. and remember "The ending is just the beginning"- Dio.. Forever alive in our hearts and in his music.

  • Anyone know what was on the T-shirt that pissed him off?

  • 50 year's of rock, no one will ever rplace him, missed very much, thank you ronald james padavano (dio)

  • Long Live DIO-----R.I.P.

  • Awesome.

  • what was on the shirt that pissed him off

  • rjd..legend..there was only one!!!!

  • I met ronnie in 2007 at the namm show in anaheim, ca and he was just the nicest person you can ever meet! so down to earth and talked to you like if you were a family member, god bless his soul and the music he left behind! No one like him ever!!!! He was the man on the silver mountain!!

  • @acrocksx5 i met ronnie in 2005 in moscow - i have a photo with him and his autograph. you're talking the right thing - he was nicest person i ever knew. i was really embarrased, shy, so he pated me on the back. great man. i was at his concert in march 2009 - he was singing like god. but he was so thin - and i thought that he's not well....

  • Saudades meu amigo.

  • Thank you Dio. You gave us the best of everything.

If wishes could come true, I would wish for you to come back and sing for us again.

You are the KING of Metal with the most amazing voice. R.I.P. DIO.

The day you died the world lost the greatest singer and a very wonderful person.

  • I was at this show. It was a last minute decision and I'm so glad I went. R.I.P Ronnie. One of the greatest voices in Heavey Metal.

  • Dio was the greatest!!! Greatest performer who ever lived. Saw him

  • What a legend!

  • So sad, I feel like I can *see* the cancer in him.....one of the great ones.

  • if you young kid's type in (early ronnie dio) you can hear his music as far back as 1962

  • can something tell my what happend when dio take the t-shirt ?????????????????????? he fells angry?

  • amazing especially since he was 1 67 and 2 DYING OF CANCER!!! HE COULD HAVE BEEN IN BED BUT HE STAYED ON THE STAGE AND PLAYED!!! A TRUE MUSICIAN... was he serious when he was yelling at the guy who through the shirt?

  • dio is a pro even in his elder years the guy just nailed it.

  • i saw hh in san diego in 2007 some asshole threw a burning napkin onstage dio got in his face

it was a kick ass show megadeth opened-

  • pro dodge at about 2:35

  • what an incredible journey , 6 decade's

  • dio means god ... !

  • 2:59

Whatever that was, I hope it didn't piss Dio off for the rest of the night, with it being his final concert. He probably just forgot about whoever that prick was straight after the incident.

  • What? Aged 65? And sounding great... 5 months or so before the stomach pains?

  • @jjojjorge pretty amazing considering Dio was born the same year as Jimi Hendrix.

  • @TheRaidersrock28 yes, pretty amazing is right (67)

  • One of my all-time faves...

  • HE IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Blacksabbathf The best singer ever...

  • thanx for this great vid! R.i.p Ronnie

  • e5150 ,mob rules!!!! sick

  • Deathly ill, yet still so much energy. A true rock god.

  • R.I.P.Ronnie Dio

  • This is the epitome of true hard rock! RIP RJD.

  • I was lucky enough to see them the night before this in Boston. Shot some great footage from the front row.

  • i was to see them be supports for Maiden in 2010, it was too late and they was replaced with Dark Tranquility =(

  • So fucking jealous of the due who got to "Rock-Lock" with Dio at 1:57.

  • @ansionnachcliste YEA i went on ebay and that dude that touched dio...he is selling his hand for money! :D ,Its called *the hand that *ROCK-LOCKED* with Ronnie

  • I saw Dio with Heaven and Hell in Holmdel. I was 16. I will never forget how epic it was.

  • @beaverteeth92 I am 13 and I'm uruguayan... I never had the chance to go to one of his concerts, but I'm not sad because of that... I'm sad because when he died I didn't even know who he was T_____T

  • Rock in Peace!

  • Anyone know what was on the t-shirt that seemed to have pissed him off? I stopped the video on that frame, but can't really see all the text on the shirt.

  • @dmnddog74 it says 'green is naming your first born merrill' if you google it you can see the shirt

  • @ZanaSadler Hmm, OK. It makes no sense to me. However, it was funny to see Ronnie clearly call the guy who threw the shirt, "Asshole!"

  • @dmnddog74 haha yes idd

  • @dmnddog74 I think what pissed him off is that someone threw it at him and almost hit him in the face.

  • @dmnddog74

    look on 94wysp.radio.com/

  • The power overwhelms me. DIo's voice could move mountains. This is totally awesome, and so very sad. Thanks for that, Joe.

  • 515:0

    awesome

    RIP...

  • @keefriff99 I think we will

  • DIO... will live thru my children!

  • no man he's an INCA

  • 2:37

    Dio was a ninja

  • It's amazing...

He was LITERALLY dying from cancer at the time this footage was recorded, and he could STILL sing like that.

I saw the show two days before, on my birthday no less, in CT, and he sounded as brilliant as ever.

There are very few singers who are blessed with the natural ability to sing like that into one's 60s. We won't see the likes of him again for a while, I think.

    R.I.P.

  • Outstanding. What a loss.

  • How many times can I press like? I love this video.

  • i feel so blessed(and lucky) i was at this show. of course didnt know he was sick, i drove over from ohio cuz i went to the detroit show but showed up late and missed some of the show so i went to this one cuz i felt like i didnt get my fill from the detroit show.

  • 3:05 What made Ronnie angry ???

  • @77elvistheking someone thru that shirt at him

  • A TRUE METAL GOD AND LEGEND RONNIE JAMES DIO R.I.P WE MISS YOU:(

  • I heard that in his final year or 2 of touring Ronnie was in great pain from the cancer but still sang his heart out night after night. RIP!

  • @charliegrs likely on morphine or something like it.

  • Sounded great that night....every night. R.I.P RJD

  • i wish i had go to see him when heaven and hell visited greece few years ago ,,,

  • Ronnie, we will miss you forever and ever, the best voice in metal, thanks for your great legacy of real and powerfull rock & roll. RIP from all of your peruvian fans...DIO SEGUIRÁ CON NOSOTROS...SALUDOS DESDE LIMA, PERÚ.

  • rest in peace brother...

  • All I can say, is this: I followed DIO from his time in Elf, Rainbow, Sab, and QR Operation MCII, and this is one the most awesome videos I've seen capturing his vocals, on-stage performance, and his overall artistry. Thank you for posting!!

  • "" I love DIo!!!!!!

  • the best Man ever R.I.P

  • Ronnie ROCKED his Friggin' ASS off his whole life......R.I.P.

  • RIP master Dio

  • Dio is gone for now but I'll wager he'll return with heaven AND hell in tow...

    r.i.p. Dio! Sabbath Forever

  • You know, in a way it's hard to watch this clip knowing that Ronnie would be gone just a few months later. Ronnie was a great singer (the best), and, more importantly, a great person.

He is greatly missed. The world still needs Ronnie James Dio.

  • Joe, thanks so much for this. And for putting together the most amazing band website, official or unofficial, in existence. \m/

  • @ReservoirTip Would you be interested in trading this account for one of mine. All you use this account for is to watch videos. I actually use all the channel features. Stop by my channel and send me a message considering my offer.

  • gotta love the GEEZER :)

  • May he be blessed by the Gods!!! Rest in Peace DIO!!!!!!!

  • I never liked his style, but I appreciated the impact he made on not just rock but music in general. It's depressingly sad that it took me almost a full year after his DEATH to look up clips of him performing live to realize holy shit, this guy rules.

  • This is such a beautiful video - thank you for posting!

  • greatest band. ronnie sounded awsome till the end. devil you know. some of his best work in my eyes.

  • You go out there, struggling with your cancer that hurts a lot, but singing your ass off and a moron throws you a shirt RIGHT in your face! ok, he didn´t mean it, but I understand Dio -.-

  • @holymariner1 dio got mad cuz he didnt like something about the tshirt not because the fan throw it. i think it has spmething to do with the egles football or something and Ronnies favorite is NY. i heard something like that. thats why he got pissed n because it almost hit him

  • At 67,Ronnie James Dio could rock harder than most people can in their entire lifetime #rip

  • I wonder what that shirt said.. he looked pissed!!!

  • one of the reasons ronnie may have not made it was because this was his life. to ronnie the show had to go on. he knew he was not well a few years ago. but he kept right on doing untill it was too late. I can respect a man for living his dreams. my grandfater never told anyone he was sick and in 2 days after knowing he saw gone. He did it his way. but just like ronnie he did it all for us. left it all on the stage.

  • It's still hard for me to believe that we now live in a world without Ronnie James Dio. What a loss. Mere words are hopelessly inadequate when trying to express the loss of the man, his voice, what he meant to so many fans, and what he means not just to Rock music & Metal, but to music of all genres. There's a large, gaping, and dark chasm in Rock music, and it's where this man used to be. We will always remember this giant of words and music.

  • I was at this show, unbelievable!

  • What a fucking crying shame this genius of a singer had to go this way , he`d earned a comfy old age seeing out his days on a beach somewhere not ravaged like this ffs !

My tears wet the keyboard as I type, RIP Sir you were and still are one of the brightest stars in the rock n roll sky . - Its a shit world that would allow this - you are better off wherever you are now.

  • I remember when I was a kid, I always tried to sing like him. Amazing voice. If you compare his voice here with his voice back in the 70's you will see no difference. RIP the Great Ronnie James Dio.

  • What was on the shirt that pissed him off so much?

  • @mykylc Read themadduke03's comment at the bottom and find out why.

  • @MrEODTEK Many thanks!!!! I was so close.

  • im going to be pissed if they try to replace dio

  • Comment removed

  • I love this man .

  • Excellent video. That was one crappy week...Ronnie dying on May 16th and my mom the day after. Now that it's over a year past that, I can enjoy this sweet video without getting sad. Sure miss such great rock and roll! Time to crank up "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules" on my CD player.

  • @Whawhazat My condolences for your loss..

  • Tony Iommi is a Charles Bronson from Metal!!

  • I hope that the rest of the crowd "took care" of the motherfucker who threw the shirt at Ronnie. He might as well have pulled out a gun and shot at him. If you're reading this you asshole, I hope they made sure you ended up leaving the concert in an ambulance.

  • @MrEODTEK i was also at this show and i remeber the shirt throwing asshole as well. this show was fuckin awsome, i drove over to ac from ohio, i went to this show cuz it was last of us tour and i had went to the show outside detroit but was late and missed 1st few songs and i felt like i didnt get my fill so i went to this show, am glad i was late for detroit show elsewise i may not of went to this show god bless dio

  • Thanx for the post...this is,and will b timeless.... (A year ago today) He left us.But,Left us a Lifetime of rok memoriez 2! Thanx ronnie /m\

  • i drove over from ohio to see this show, of course didnt know it would be his last, just wanted to catch the show . i was feel so damn lucky and blessed to have been there

  • The shirt was a Philadelphia Eagles shirt. Ronnie was a New York Giants fan. Thus the FU to the person that threw it up there.

  • Amazing. Thanks Mr. Dio \m/

  • i wanted to see Ronnie James Dio in concert soo bad whether it was with his own band or Heaven & Hell. Now i'll never get the chance to see the greatest metal singer of all time :'( . as engraved on his recent Record Store Day release of the Killing the Dragon picture disc: RJD RIP You are loved and rememberd \m/

  • I was fortunate enough to see Dio on stage in June 2009 in France. It was awesome.

  • The T-shirt says "Green is naming your first born Merrill" After Merrill Reese the "Voice of the eagles" .

  • I was at the show, And Im glad I was there to see one of the best

  • I have never senn DIO get so angry on stage. Something on the front of that shirt pissed him off. I can't quite see what it says. But it says something green?....... I don't. But Ronnie gives him the reverse peace sign. Which in England and Europe is the same as the middle finger here in the States So very soory had to deal with an ass-hole on his , then unknowingly, last show. Ronnie we all miss you.

  • RIP Dio

  • I think the shirt said 94.1 WYSP FM. It's the Philly rock station. Why they threw it at Dio who the hell knows. Add it to the list of the many reasons why I don't go to shows anymore. Too much money and the place is full of crazy drugged out, drunk assholes slamming into each other. RIP Ronnie.

  • God bless you Ronnie....\m/

  • what an awesome way to go man. watch out for the panties dio! 2:38

  • @FranzHannez That wasn't a panty you fool, that was a shirt...

  • @Maidensfan1 Lots of junkies wear those as panties...

  • @FranzHannez LOL...

  • who's the idiot in 2:35 that's the mother fucker that killed Ronnie .l.

  • Przysięgam na Boga, że dzień jego śmierci był zdecydowanie najgorszym dniem w historii rock and roll.

    Sylwester.

  • WHAT WAS ON THE SHIRT??????????????

  • Thanks Ronie James Dio for his sound, his talent for rock and left as a legacy to us all. This video is historic for the music world, for sure. Rest in peace. His voice is always echoing through the distances and in our hearts.

  • I get goosebumps...

RONNIE JAMES DIO <3 ..still alive in our hearts and thanks to his music.

  • i'm glad that no one dislike this video/masterpeace :)

  • Im 27 yrs old, and the 1st song i was ever played was Black Sabbith - Heaven and Hell, when i was 2 yrs old. because of Ronnie, i started Singing, because of Tommy, i started playing Guitar, and because of Black Sabbith (Heaven and Hell) i started a band, and decided to play metal. Ronnie is my Idol, and in all the fans of Metal, Ronnie's legacy will Live on for Eternity in his music, in our Memories and Hearts

  • He amazes me...his age...as strong as his vocals are...amazing.

  • 4:04-4:06 what is he saying??

  • I wonder what was written on the shirt!!

  • who would throw something at dio?

  • He will never be accorded the Respect that he truly Deserves....RIP, Ronnie James Dio!

  • What energy. And not a bad note in him.

  • SUCH an epic voice despite his age, possibly even better now than he was young

  • His voice is still awesome even though he ill!! We'll never forget you or the shivers you sent down our spines! Meet you at The Great Gig in The Sky.

  • Can't believe this was the end;(\m/

  • Miss Ronnie everyday! His words and voice will live on as long as we play his music. "The Mob Rules"!

  • I seen him in chicago aug 19th 09.great show. my gf my sis nephew and I had a great time rocking out in chicago with dio and they other rock gods on stage. It was so good.I couldnt have imagined dio was ill and would be gone in 9 months.i sure wish they had caught that cancer eearlier. they were by far my favorite band. Now i have nobody to go see

  • Man, this was probably the most toughest musician death in a long time. Dio was a amazing vocalist and he will be missed. He sounds so great here....thanks for posting this.

  • @ARProductions2010 Yes, I agree. Ronnie believed his condition was improving just a month before he passed and it personally shocked the hell out of me when I saw the announcement on the news. Peter Steele's death just the month before surprised and devastated a lot of people as well, including myself. All who knew him said that his health had been improving and that he was planning to write a new Type O Negative album. 2010 was just not a good year for the world of heavy metal.

  • Thank you Ronnie. We miss you!

  • 2:37 I WILL FINDD YOUUUU.

  • @OneSICMa666ot YES. FIND THIS CUNT. AND DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.

  • @MrEODTEK yes.

  • @OneSICMa666ot what does this shirt?

    Ronnie is why this reaction?

  • @Lesher666 He's just pissed becuase he doesn't want people throwing shit at him.

  • @OneSICMa666ot if i was ronnie i would have been like, Wwhyaaa, karate chap!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! The day that Ronnie passed away it felt like a part of me died along with him. He will never be forgotten for as long as I live.

  • Miss this guy..what a legend

  • he never lost it.. he took it with him when he died.. ..rest in peace

  • Look how he dodged that shirt there. He's still got it, right up to the end.

  • DIO - The Magic will always be heard loud , and clear.

    /,/ forever DIO \,,\

  • Does anybody know what was on the tshirt he disliked?

  • @hairbear007 I was wondering the same thing, it looks like it's a shirt promoting a rock radio station out of Philadelphia called 94 WYSP

  • Dio is gone, but he will live on in his greatest legacy: His music and his fans

Rock In Heaven, Ronnie James Dio \,,/.

  • I cry seeing this,,,

    Life is a short trip,,,
