i played ahri quite a bit by now, and i can only recommend getting the hextech revolver after buying regular boots(maybe even before getting any boots), it will increase you lane sustain by quite a bit
Ahri is my favourite caster champion so far. I prefer her over everyone else for the simple reason: this champion just seems to flow with my hands. I don't know why but that's just the type of champion I'm naturally bound to, I started playing her just a while ago and did many matches with her and I won about 70% of em plus I never really failed, everything I did was good for my team and also good for my score, I also never really seem to die. I don't know if it depends on skill or so but I like

My style to play is to constantly farm and then poke the enemy to keep him at abt. half life at lvl 6. After that you want to ult in, when landing near him cas w, then hell propably atk or flee now you charm him with e and hit a q. the rest is easy

first of all, ahri is op and she is not lots of skill shots, you only have to hit your e on the right persons and then you can get out your full burst.

She is hard to play in higher lvls since my laning opponent will normally get boots 3 pots to dodge the skillshots. But once you get your charm off your opponent is fked
It's pretty cool that you made a guide I watched it & u commented pretty well. The thing is I found it so epic that you happened to miss your charm & use your fox fire at the wrong time & your q which is your orb. I think you can really improve on your combo. Apparently I think Ahri Is OP I always carry with her on my team. It's true that shes only good if you know how to play her. She is Really OP if you have the right build & great runes. I have about 600 attack damage GET AP LICH BANE & DC B4
If you know how to properly play her she is so op. and my friends are all like she is the worst champ ever blah blah blah, when she's the only champion I can go 19/1/20 with. I'm only level 12 so I think that's pretty good

Ahri is awesome and very versatile. She's exactly as Riot describes: a ranged mage assassin. She can fill any of these roles (not a bad support either) and every one of her spells are good:
Q low cooldown and good range, powerful too. With AP you can easily destroy minions, kite your opponents or support a melee ally
W is an excellent fire and forget spell. Even if you're retreating you can be poping this off and taking down their health, or again run around behind your tanks/fighters as support
E is a good stun that also brings your enemy closer (great assassin skill), ironically even good when retreating cuz of the slowing effect
Ult - incredible versatility, 3 casts in 10 sec, cooldown not bad, you can run circles around a melee enemy, chase down and destroy your prey, dive into a team fight and help finish off the enemy team, run away while also damaging your persuer or just dive into and out of a fight like Renekton, only better
I dont say champs are overpowered nearly ever, but this is a situation where I will. The damage of every other ap carry with 3 long dashes that also do ridiculous amounts of damage is just insane, its like a Kassadin that isnt melee and dash has no cd but can only be used 3 times (All you really need in a teamfight)
@brandoyopie Kassadin silences, does not require skillshots and does not have his skills blocked by other players/NPCs. Ahri's fox fire, charm and ultimate will do horribly if the enemy champion is sitting in the middle of a minion horde.
@SoShiFood Well yes kassadin can counter her in lane, I was merely comparing the twos dashes, but In team fights she simply has too much mobility, kass can jump in but he only has two nuke spells (Not counting the junp itself) And the fact that one of ahris taunts while the other hits twice and one of the hits does true damage, just the fact it can be dodged doesnt balance it, any good ahri can land at the very minimum 75% of her spells in the teamfight.
@brandoyopie Again, I would like to point you to the minion hordes. Ever tried playing Ahri at enemy base with minions constantly respawning and being in the way? I have, and it sucks. Don't want to argue with you, so this is my last reply.

there are various combo of ahri....ahri could use spirit rush for positioning to charm enemies and then hit orb of deception along with fox -fire combo instead of the usual fox-fire +spirit rush then orb of deception then charm combo since Rush have 10 seconds for you to cast 2nd rush you can multi-position to your advantage.
@colbycheeze After playing Ahri in her free week, I kinda gotta disagree with your "she's mediocre" assessment.
I think she is pretty strong, because she has an amazing early game (you don't dodge 1 charm, you die), she has a strong midgame with her bursty foxfire + ulti combo, and she still has a decent lategame because of her amazing farm with Q and her chance to get people out of position with charm.
I kinda agree that she's not really an assassin per se, but more so than Irelia or Xin. xD
Personally, i think Ahri should go for RoA first. then go boots. If the enemy is building magic resis, go void staff then deathcap. If they're nubs and not going for magic resist, go deathcap then will of ancients.
also, her mobility is completely brutal, i'd probably go so far as to say she has the best mobility in the game right now. give her a long stretch of lane and she can pretty much chase anyone down, including an ulted master yi
cheeze, i don't usually disagree with you this strongly but ahri completely rapes right now. like with any skillshot champ, all you have to do really is know what you're doing, know your ranges and what your limitations are. send her mid and it's nigh impossible to fail, once you hit 6 you're almost unkillable and a single RoA + large rod turns you into a kind of leblanc/ryze hybrid
@terrasweet I didn't say she was bad. I rape hard when I play her, but I know that people won't always do so. She is a higher skill cap champion so you need to play her well to do well. I still don't think she is 'broken'. Quite a good champion that is fairly balanced and actually quite strong in capable hands.

@terrasweet rush ROA first is the bigest fail on most of champs even on ahri ... you probably never stand against good players if ROA works for you.... you have to build ahri like pure assasin not a some hybrid ..rabadon first is the best thing for her ,not always ,but mostly .You have to always adapt ,is important what kind of champ is against you,sometimes is better first negatron cloak(later on build into abyssal scepter) to survive haevy mages combos ,than you easy kill them
Gotta disagree, she's pretty much a hit if you play decently every game. Her laning is pretty hard to beat and once she hits 6 she becomes sorta like Xerath where if you're under 75% health you better play really safe. That's my opinions but try her out it's her free week and you'll have your own thoughts on her.
Most important with Ahri is: Don't EVER be greedy! You'll die much too quickly without your ulti... Leave that to the Tryndies out there. She's just perfect to annoy the shit out of other champs without them being able to retaliate.
Lol nice one Riot give all her abilities base damage below 200 and make the AP scaling .3 for all of the too. That way shes really hard and has horrible damage output all game long!
@drawingmaster Same goes for me! I'm quite okay with skillshots and that way you can do so much surprise stuff with her. As all in all i'm not that good of a player, i still very seldomely fail with her, especially when i start mid. Most mid-champs had a hard time with me being either pushed towards their tower, being constantly harrassed or charmed into my tower... I also love Gragas, his ulti just suprises so many people when they already thought they'd get away... :D
I think, and this is my opinion, that ahri is a great champion. I know colby says dont build like your normal mage, but i do that. My first game I solo mid and my score was 18/4. My next one was 31/17 but I lost (elo hell DX), and I did very well. I LOVE AHRI, SHE WAS MADE FOR ME. Probably coz I live for these champs tho XD.
Don't understand the explanations that Ahri is not an assassin. She is, everything you do is so similar to Akali play style. Of course not the same way, but it is. Ult so similar, she charms, Akali slows and hides, Q greater range, but similar. If Ahri is not an assassin, because of limited mobility, Akali isn't either with her jumps to be charged first. Yes, I know, they are not the same^^ but similar! This video I would say is "overthought" meaning sth like exaggerated. It is not the same^^
The reason she's not considered an assassin is because her damage potential is more spread-out than a typical assassin. Add that to her low cooldown, her damage is much more sustained than burst as well. It makes her a mage DPS rather than an assassin.
Kassadin is at the moment such a joke ... just good in late Game and mid Game if you are feeded. Whatever nice Guide Colbycheeze it´s seems to me that Ahri is with her Ulti like Akali ... maybe i buy her :)

well, I did good with her in all the games I played. Never had under twice kills over deaths, creeped about 150 minions avarage per game, done a quadra in ranked for now, in 9 game i won 8, total score in ranked: 140:40:127. IN those games I did 16 double kills. I THINK SHE'S THE BEST CHAMPION MADE SO FAR. Probably because I like champions like: Katarina, Akali, Ezreal :D
TBH colby, I think her skill cap is just too high for you. I mean after seeing you and Red play together, rage and blame people, its really changed my opinion on you. Just sayin. If you cant get Sivir right, do you really have a hope for Ahri?
Meh. I think she's amazing. The most versatile and mobile Champ in LoL with tons of burst damage rivaling even LeBlanc's. Definitely becoming my main.
Your build is kind of just copy&pasted from Xpecial's. Ahri is an exceptional champion; just because someone is bad with skillshots, doesn't mean shes "mediocre". That means the players are mediocre. Also her AP scaling is not low, considering all her skills (except E) hit multiple times. Her overall AP scaling stacks up with other very popular and powerful AP carries.
1. Ahri isnt op! She has high dmg but she dies fast and stop complaining about her being op! Because she is an assassin so she has to make enough dmg to kill someone form full hp to zero very fast.
2. This is my first critisizm to you holy colby :) if ahri hasnt much mobility with 3 flashes and a spell which you can cast while walking, who has high mobility then?:) ashe?:DD
I'd prefer a RoA over a Rylai's. For the simple fact, that all her abilities are mostly multiple target skills, ergo the slow you get from Rylai's is only 15% instead of 35%.
I like how Colby tries to argue that "ahri's not really a high-mobility burst assassin" while on the video ahri is constantly flying around the map bursting people down
@jsuresh1 Dude, she has 305 mov speed. Thats really low. And her burst really depends on landing charm, it really punishes you if you miss. Shes good, but with low base damages and poor scaling, their are just better champs out their with better everything.
lol, totally agree with you for your guide (thought the same) except she can be played really well by the 'right' players, I have seen some people (inc. myself) absolutely destroy with her, and she has great mobility with her ultimate, so I don't see how she is mediocre.

Ahri is awesome and very versatile. She's exactly as Riot describes: a ranged mage assassin. She can fill any of these roles (not a bad support either) and every one of her spells are good:
Q low cooldown and good range, powerful too. With AP you can easily destroy minions, kite your opponents or support a melee ally
W is an excellent fire and forget spell. Even if you're retreating you can be poping this off and taking down their health, or again run around behind your tanks/fighters as support

E is a good stun that also brings your enemy closer (great assassin skill), ironically even good when retreating cuz of the slowing effect
Ult - incredible versatility, 3 casts in 10 sec, cooldown not bad, you can run circles around a melee enemy, chase down and destroy your prey, dive into a team fight and help finish off the enemy team, run away while also damaging your persuer or just dive into and out of a fight like Renekton, only better

I dont say champs are overpowered nearly ever, but this is a situation where I will. The damage of every other ap carry with 3 long dashes that also do ridiculous amounts of damage is just insane, its like a Kassadin that isnt melee and dash has no cd but can only be used 3 times (All you really need in a teamfight)

@brandoyopie Kassadin silences, does not require skillshots and does not have his skills blocked by other players/NPCs. Ahri's fox fire, charm and ultimate will do horribly if the enemy champion is sitting in the middle of a minion horde.

@SoShiFood Well yes kassadin can counter her in lane, I was merely comparing the twos dashes, but In team fights she simply has too much mobility, kass can jump in but he only has two nuke spells (Not counting the junp itself) And the fact that one of ahris taunts while the other hits twice and one of the hits does true damage, just the fact it can be dodged doesnt balance it, any good ahri can land at the very minimum 75% of her spells in the teamfight.

there are various combo of ahri....ahri could use spirit rush for positioning to charm enemies and then hit orb of deception along with fox -fire combo instead of the usual fox-fire +spirit rush then orb of deception then charm combo since Rush have 10 seconds for you to cast 2nd rush you can multi-position to your advantage.
She needs a little bit of thinking and planning.

@colbycheeze After playing Ahri in her free week, I kinda gotta disagree with your "she's mediocre" assessment.
I think she is pretty strong, because she has an amazing early game (you don't dodge 1 charm, you die), she has a strong midgame with her bursty foxfire + ulti combo, and she still has a decent lategame because of her amazing farm with Q and her chance to get people out of position with charm.
I kinda agree that she's not really an assassin per se, but more so than Irelia or Xin. xD

Personally, i think Ahri should go for RoA first. then go boots. If the enemy is building magic resis, go void staff then deathcap. If they're nubs and not going for magic resist, go deathcap then will of ancients.

cheeze, i don't usually disagree with you this strongly but ahri completely rapes right now. like with any skillshot champ, all you have to do really is know what you're doing, know your ranges and what your limitations are. send her mid and it's nigh impossible to fail, once you hit 6 you're almost unkillable and a single RoA + large rod turns you into a kind of leblanc/ryze hybrid

@terrasweet I didn't say she was bad. I rape hard when I play her, but I know that people won't always do so. She is a higher skill cap champion so you need to play her well to do well. I still don't think she is 'broken'. Quite a good champion that is fairly balanced and actually quite strong in capable hands.

@terrasweet rush ROA first is the bigest fail on most of champs even on ahri ... you probably never stand against good players if ROA works for you.... you have to build ahri like pure assasin not a some hybrid ..rabadon first is the best thing for her ,not always ,but mostly .You have to always adapt ,is important what kind of champ is against you,sometimes is better first negatron cloak(later on build into abyssal scepter) to survive haevy mages combos ,than you easy kill them

Gotta disagree, she's pretty much a hit if you play decently every game. Her laning is pretty hard to beat and once she hits 6 she becomes sorta like Xerath where if you're under 75% health you better play really safe. That's my opinions but try her out it's her free week and you'll have your own thoughts on her.

As all in all i'm not that good of a player, i still very seldomely fail with her, especially when i start mid. Most mid-champs had a hard time with me being either pushed towards their tower, being constantly harrassed or charmed into my tower... I also love Gragas, his ulti just suprises so many people when they already thought they'd get away... :D

I think, and this is my opinion, that ahri is a great champion. I know colby says dont build like your normal mage, but i do that. My first game I solo mid and my score was 18/4. My next one was 31/17 but I lost (elo hell DX), and I did very well. I LOVE AHRI, SHE WAS MADE FOR ME. Probably coz I live for these champs tho XD.

Don't understand the explanations that Ahri is not an assassin. She is, everything you do is so similar to Akali play style. Of course not the same way, but it is. Ult so similar, she charms, Akali slows and hides, Q greater range, but similar. If Ahri is not an assassin, because of limited mobility, Akali isn't either with her jumps to be charged first. Yes, I know, they are not the same^^ but similar! This video I would say is "overthought" meaning sth like exaggerated. It is not the same^^

The reason she's not considered an assassin is because her damage potential is more spread-out than a typical assassin. Add that to her low cooldown, her damage is much more sustained than burst as well. It makes her a mage DPS rather than an assassin.

I know this is your point of view but don't say she is mediocre she take skill more than would take an Annie which pretty much is qwer she has a really strong cc movibility which is something that burst mages lack she has true damage a low mana cost w which procks you passive fast to q into a minion wave not the strongest sustain until you get a revolver overall she is strong i know riot is nerfing her i just hope they don't screw her up to the point is not fun and not even viable to play.

well, I did good with her in all the games I played. Never had under twice kills over deaths, creeped about 150 minions avarage per game, done a quadra in ranked for now, in 9 game i won 8, total score in ranked: 140:40:127. IN those games I did 16 double kills. I THINK SHE'S THE BEST CHAMPION MADE SO FAR. Probably because I like champions like: Katarina, Akali, Ezreal :D

Actually I much prefer arhi's ult to akali's simply because 1) it doesn't need a target and 2) it's a lot easier to get over walls with.
Without having to jump to an enemy it's a lot easier to position yourself to catch their entire team with q.

Your build is kind of just copy&pasted from Xpecial's. Ahri is an exceptional champion; just because someone is bad with skillshots, doesn't mean shes "mediocre". That means the players are mediocre. Also her AP scaling is not low, considering all her skills (except E) hit multiple times. Her overall AP scaling stacks up with other very popular and powerful AP carries.
