Not to cheat on a comment, but before reading the "smacking on window" my initial thought was they may have been chasing each other while flying. Fending off one's terroritory or nest and then collide with the side of your home. I've seen small birds chasing larger ones all the time. Even had them fly into windows obviiously not seeing the window.
na man the black bird stumbled into the robins territory and a chase insued, then they both, not paying attention slamed into the window and killed themselves.
Oh sorry I didn't read your comment about what it turned out to be. So one must have been in pursuit of the other and then wham! What bird brains. I wonder if they held up a sign that said “Yipes!” or “Mother!” before they hit the ground. Beep beep.
They were probably lovers that were tired of being judged by other birds for being different from each other and commited suicide together by smashing in to your window...either that or they where auditioning for a windex commercial.
I notice that this is right under your window. Sometimes birds will see the reflection in a window and think it is just more sky and keep flying. They probably flew into the window. The reason that there are two birds dead may be because one bird was chasing the other. When the chased bird mistook the reflection, they both ended up crashing since the chaser was only looking at the chased. Kinda like tunnel vision. Look for smudge marks on the window.
Kind of weird, It could have been a cat. But cats typically take their kill to their own territory. For instance, if you guys have a cat, your cat would make a kill and show it to you. It could be a, "Conspiracy". Maybe the, "Man" doesn't like your youtube videos. Maybe it was one of your neighbors. It definitely makes one say, HMMMMMMM.
A couple possibilities: 1. New hyper mutant bird flu that infects anyone within the area killed them..2. Nutnfancy in the area on a run and gun and hit them with stray rounds.....3. Ryan ritually tortured and killed them in the middle of the night and didn't want to admit it to his room mate, thus making the video to cover it up
@teotwawki12 LOL, I agree Teo... or he was mad at Tim, shot the birds out of fusstration and threw them at the window shouting "Damn you tim" while Tim was passed out drunk on sofa and vomit all over the living room so instead of shooting Tim he shot the birds... with his Glock.
One bird was chasing the other and they both hit the building. I worked at a restaurant where the break area was out back and we found a hawk and some other bird laying dead on the ground. We assumed that the hawk was chasing the other bird and they both hit the building.
I have had birds fall from the sky in front of me. Several things can do this. Birds getting banged up in the wake of an aircraft, hit by a plane or get sucked up in a thermal and suffocate at high altitude. Your birds look like a present from a cat.
My 1st guess would be a cat that likes you. They commonly kill and leave for their owners. My last cat was a master at that. By that I mean she left no marks. I could not tell how she killed. My mother told me they will toss a mouse in the air and let it fall to die.
assuming the birds haven't been moved, they are too far from the window to have landed there after crashing into it, they should ve landed right below the window...I vote cat
Check your gas meter for leakage. I noticed that the birds are laying pretty close to your gas meter. They've been known to leak and birds are very sensitive to gas. Miners used to use birds as early warning systms in the mines for the detection of deadly gases.
I noticed you have a gas meter very close to where you found the birds. I would check for leakage if I were you. One bird may have been overcome while checking out the first one that was overcome. Gas meters have been known to leak. And birds succumb easily to fumes. Miners used to use them as early warning systems in the mines.

Classic murder suicide situation. Rumblings in the animal kingdom are saying that the two birds there were married. The Robin was seeing an Albatross with HUGE wings behind the Grackels back. The Grackel came home early, theres an Albatros in the nest, and he just couldnt let that shit ride. So the Grackel murdered his Robin and then did a spalsh down into the pavement beside her fallen body. Mystery solved. Moral of the story, Robin liked bigger wings and it cost her.
Most likely they ran into the window just above where they lie. May have been chasing each other or a reflextion in the window was attractive to them. I've heard of many birds flying into windows that way.
not too long ago... i woke up went to get ready for work, house was dark, and i stepped on something cold and mushy... turned on the lights, turned out my cat dragged a dead pigeon into the house... my bet, theres a good hunter in the vacinity who keeps his/her kill as playtoys.
@NaturesInstinct LOL, Great guess my friend. Actually we did come to find out they must of smacked the window. After reading all the comments on this vid we checked the window, and there was indeed a few feathers and some "biological ooze" dripping from them. Ha Ha!! We didnt even think to check the window when we filmed this. There are alot of funny comments though! Good to hear from you man.
A terrible crime scene. No chalk outlines on the bodies? Here is the truth. They both flew into the same window above. . . . at different times, but from the same angle. With the correct lighting conditions birds often fly into windows at certain times of day.
When I lived and worked in S. FL. they used to tell us to be on the lookout for dead birds with no apparent cause of death. We were to report it to the Health Dept. They were trying to track Avian Flu. Maybe they flew into the window and maybe not. Be careful disposing of them.
Most likely they hit the window, I hear birds hitting the window at work quite a bit. One of the birds was laying on the ground for a while until it recomposed itself. The problem is they see the reflection of trees and other things in the window.
The crackle might have been chasing the robin, and the robin headed towards the window and the rest is history...
Hopefully one day a turkey will knock itself out on the window at work. Free lunch.
I had dead robins by my house last year that tested positive for west nile virus. Seems too early for mosquitos but who knows. Could be bird flu, but I would think there would be many more dead birds. Call animal control & have them tested. Could be deadly to humans!
Don't mean to freak you guys out but I found this off google... "I learned an old gypsy curse today, from an actual gypsy. If someone spites you, remember it. If you come across a dead Raven (you have to find it dead, not kill it) pick up it's corpse and place it on the front gate of the one you hate (you must still feel hate for the person for the curse to work). Ill fortune shall befoul the occupants of the house." Offend any gypsies recently? lmao
Grackles are norotious for killing smaller birds like robins, blue jays, red winged black birds for food or competition. We have blue headed black grackles that have done that before, they can be a pest. my guess is either the grackle was fighting the robin and they both fell or the grackle killed the robin and went to finish it off thus fighting in midair landing breaking its neck. Ive seen those buggers kill birds fighting over bird seed.
Something similar happened to me as well, but it was more like 3 dozen starlings all lying dead in a pile in the middle of the road! Come to find out, poison oats were used by farmers to rid the fields of pests like birds and other vermin. The starlings got into the oats and all dropped dead at the same time it seemed. Maybe those two got into something similarly toxic and dropped as they were in same flight pattern as the other. That's my guess! :)
if you can lett a laboratry test it.also this can be a personal spiritual sign find out what these birds mean to native people....very good question i hope anything good comes out,.please let us know....al the best.
neighbor kid shot em with his BB gun then threw them in your yard. Probably hiding in the bushes watching and laughing and recording his own vid "neighbor OWNED by dead birds"
I'm not sure what part of the counrty your in, but we've had some very cold weather in most of the country with a lot of snow etc. So much for global warming, well it has been pretty harsh for birds as well. Those that normally just hang out & weather over the winter have found it difficult to find food & as a result when a thaw finally came were simply exhausted. That being said they could have died during a chase especially if they were trying to defend a nesting area. But either way, yuck :P
1. When one can see very good through the window and have a good look on what is behind the window.
and
2.
When you can´t look through the window at all, when the window reflects the outside like mirror. Then they see for example a distant tree in there and BOOM!
The birds would not crash onto the brick wall. Try to find their prints on your windows and let us know.
If nobody placed them there it is most likely that they both hit one of your windows (maybe a chase in an air combat;-). You possibly don´t want to make an autopsy to find out if they have broken necks. But you could take a look if they have blood in their beak what is very common in such crashes. When they hit one of your windows you´ll find a print on it if you look carefully. I had a print of a dove on my (small) sleeping rooms window. I could see a detailed print of every single feather.
I guess with the lack of blood, they probably just hit the house or died from some natural cause, because if an animal or a person had killed them, it probably would have been pretty bloody.
They probably flew into that window right above them. I had a few birds do that last year, but they didn't die. I think it is because they were really small birds and didn't have enough weight behind them to injure or kill.
got any cats in your neighborhood? One cat could have easily done that, but it is weird that they are right out in the open, i would think that a cat would hide them somewhere.
When I saw the title, I thought you were shooting birds with the 870! Looks like they probably flew into the window next to the door and broke their necks. They do that at my house sometimes.
The real mystery is, given the title of the video and the tags, why are the related videos all of the Red Hot Chili Peppers? LOL.
HI from the backwoods of mass. I believe that " aaadream " has it right on the money. I work 3rd shift so i spend some time watching birds before i go to sleep an from what i have watched that is right on.
The grackles are very agressive and could have been chasing the robin. With the two birds just under a window i would look to see if you have residue from the feathers on the window. one could have been chasing the other and they both hit the window. they fly fast enough to break thier necks. It happens all the time. So check the windows for impact marks...
do you have a cat? cats bring their prey at the door... the birds may be dead from any reason (poison, bird flu, a kid with a slingshot etc), it's strange that there are 2 of them so close... but if you have a cat look no further!
a joke from your buddies, or they hit the window/house/whatever while fighting each other. just a couple ways. i was riding a bike downtown nashville and a bird fell right in front of me it flew into a tall building and fell to it's death. weird though so i say that they were fighting each other and both flew hard into something
Cats probably. Could be more, call animal control. put your hand in a plastic bag grab birds with your plastic covered hands and turn the bag inside out. Freeze the birds in your refrigerator to keep them until the animal control can collect them.
i wacthed a robin defedning it's nest chasing a greckle around and then the greckle smoked the neigbours window. am guess they where fighting or chasing one another.

birds are violent, so that crow or grackle, whaatever it was, could have killed the red breasted robin, and they could have killed eachother
CrickTroutMaster 1 year ago
my guess is the grackel or how ever you would spell it attacked the red robins nest and they fought and killed each other

BTW
Birds crash into a window in two cases.
1. When one can see very good through the window and have a good look on what is behind the window.
and
2.
When you can´t look through the window at all, when the window reflects the outside like mirror. Then they see for example a distant tree in there and BOOM!
The birds would not crash onto the brick wall. Try to find their prints on your windows and let us know.
greetings
e.

I could see a detailed print of every single feather.

seriously, call animal control, it could be bird flu...
eli1967 1 year ago
I guess with the lack of blood, they probably just hit the house or died from some natural cause, because if an animal or a person had killed them, it probably would have been pretty bloody.
Haha interesting video as always, Ryan

They probably flew into that window right above them. I had a few birds do that last year, but they didn't die. I think it is because they were really small birds and didn't have enough weight behind them to injure or kill.

got any cats in your neighborhood? One cat could have easily done that, but it is weird that they are right out in the open, i would think that a cat would hide them somewhere.
schnips074 1 year ago
When I saw the title, I thought you were shooting birds with the 870! Looks like they probably flew into the window next to the door and broke their necks. They do that at my house sometimes.
The real mystery is, given the title of the video and the tags, why are the related videos all of the Red Hot Chili Peppers? LOL.

I'd take measures to avoid contamination and get rid of them. Birds can carry any number of nasty diseases.
vention4wh 1 year ago
The grackles are very agressive and could have been chasing the robin. With the two birds just under a window i would look to see if you have residue from the feathers on the window. one could have been chasing the other and they both hit the window. they fly fast enough to break thier necks. It happens all the time. So check the windows for impact marks...

my guess is they were fighting and hit your brick wall and the colision into the wall killed them.

do you have a cat? cats bring their prey at the door... the birds may be dead from any reason (poison, bird flu, a kid with a slingshot etc), it's strange that there are 2 of them so close... but if you have a cat look no further!

a joke from your buddies, or they hit the window/house/whatever while fighting each other. just a couple ways. i was riding a bike downtown nashville and a bird fell right in front of me it flew into a tall building and fell to it's death. weird though so i say that they were fighting each other and both flew hard into something

Cats probably. Could be more, call animal control. put your hand in a plastic bag grab birds with your plastic covered hands and turn the bag inside out. Freeze the birds in your refrigerator to keep them until the animal control can collect them.
