Where does it release the c02, (not carbonation!) to exactly? It's a closed system, meaning the co2 can't leave the beer bottle. It's called super cooling....which means the temperature of the beer is below the normal freezing point and once you move it, nucleation (the creation of a crystal, in this case ice crystals) occurs at one site and then spreads to the rest of the system.

I've done it with bottled water. You have to get the timing correct. It will be different depending on bottle sizes and freezer temp. After the right amount of time you shake the bottle and it turns to slush or ice.

you can do it with pretty much any drink in an unopened (sealed) bottle, still cool as fuck tho :)

this is not a trick, its basic chemistry, molecules are Naturally lazy, the liquid instead tends to stay liquid, that is until you jolt or shake, this will remind the molecule to change its state thus freezing before your eyes.
