How lovely! I know what you mean. If I'd had a son, I'd have liked to have named him Keaton. It's a strong name, and it would be a wonderful remembrance of a greatly talented man.
I remember Buster Keaton from many shows and comercials in the late '50s and early '60s.He was really an underrated talent.
I read somewhere that Buster Keaton is remembered by some as either the greatest silent movie comic or the second greatest-depending on how much you liked Charlie Chaplin.
@RJRanke Buster Keaton was a silent film Star a BIG one. The famous guy hanging from the giant clock in silents, also Donna Reed was a contract actress in 1940's films.
thats pretty cool i like it when peoples names acually have meaning or a story behind them im suprised she didnt freak out sayin that u named her after a boy lol
You probably know this already: the story is that Buster Keaton was given that nickname by Harry Houdini, the famous escape artist. Buster's real name was Joseph, like his father.
I am so in love with Buster Keaton. If I have a son, I'm naming him Keaton - either first or middle name. I've been a fan about four years. He is/was amazing. "The General" is probably my favorite silent movie.
Well said! It's always a joy to meet people who appreciate, love & respect the comedic genius of the late great Buster Keaton. Your heartwarming comment really MADE my day & my week! THANKS for posting! :-)
@tygersflowerz I named a dog Buster, after him. He is my favorite from that era. His stuff never gets old. Remember the one where he played all the parts himself, even the women, he was a genius. I have almost everything he has ever done.
The first season DVDs are out and they are terrific -- very good quality, no "fake soundtracks" and no editing of the episodes (which run 25 plus minutes). This episodes is part of the package.
Thanks to Arts Alliance for putting them out. Let's have more!
A "bit" of a career...hehehe. I've never seen this footage before. It's so sweet and so is Buster. I wonder if this is on the Keaton Plus DVD. Thanks for posting.
I hear they are releasing the first five seasons. That would include the extremely rare Season 4 which never aired on Nik at Nite or TV land. Can't wait! Finally a release worth something...Rare..
"...he had a bit of a career in silent films as well." LOL!!! Nice one! Thank goodness it was a big 'bit'!
I've been in love with Buster since I was about 10 years old, so I've seen most of his stuff; I've not seen this clip before though, and it's charming. Thanks so much for posting it.
Love the G-clamp action..LOL.....Buster is my comedy hero.... he was the best in the business....

He was a heavy smoker and too much booze in the 1930s made it a little rough.

I found Buster after my kids were already born, so too late to rename them.
But we did name our calico Keaton.
