IMO, Big Sur Moon and The Echo Song are both inspired by Cathedral, which was released well before either of these songs. Paul is an Eddie fan (ie Three E's for Edward). Neither are rip-offs, every guitarist likes that echo effect. :)

I personally think shred has to have alot of emotion and feel. Paul Gilbert for example has just as much emotion in his body and playing as some blues players. First of all, Paul taught buckethead. Second of all, that's not true at all. Paul gilberts string skipping, alt picking, phrasing, and use of arpeggios is much better then Bucketheads. In terms of bucketheads signature tapping, Paul is more then capable of it. They're both very, very good guitarists. Paul over all technical ability is a bit better though. Just because he doesn't use dimished and chromatic octive displacement all the time in his solos to give it a complex sound does nto make him
