The Bible was compiled and completed many hundreds years before the birth of Muhammad, the founder Islam. The Old Testament was completed in about 400 before the birth of Christ. The New Testament — 800 years before the Quran was written. Yet according to the Quran the Bible is a revelation of Allah to the People of Israel. How is it possible that the stories that are depicted (portrayed, shown) in the Quran are so contradictory to the stories of the Holy Bible?

In Hebrew we there is singular personal pronoun I as when God ordered Moses to say to the Hebrew children, My name is I AM. Tell them I AM sent you. The content I AM is cleared in this case. It indicates a non-partnership. There are other instances in the Hebrew when the plural personal pronoun we may indicate a singular form especially in terms of royalty. In such a case it is about the intent not the content.

Yes, there is a singular first person personal pronoun in Arabic. "Ana" like the Hebrew "Ani" . . . and the plural form "Nahnu" like the Hebrew "Anahnu"

(Surah 114) But every time Allah speaks, he seems to have a partner. That sounds like someone who speaks for his partner, or many partners.

The Quran contains 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads & fingers, and kill the infidels wherever they may be hiding. Let's not forget that Christians were extremely violent individuals (the Crusades, the Reformation). Most of Europe and North Africa lived in relative peace during Islamic reign. Moreover, they were tolerant of Jewish and Christian faith until Christian rule. (Btw, I am Christian.)

It is not imperialism, but rather an ability to see similarities among major monotheistic religions. The prophets all worship the same God. Although, only Christianity sees Jesus Christ as Lord, they all worship the same Father. It's against an individual's rights to want and make everyone submit and comply with one's beliefs. You must remember that none of it is based on genuine history, only sacred history. There is no difference between Jjihadism and the Crusades.

Wrong. The Crusaders were acting contrary to the New Testament; they could not point to that scripture and find justification or sanction for what they did. The doctrine of Jihad, on the other hand, is clearly divinely mandated by Allah, according the the "Prophet." Muhammad gave the jihadists their marching orders, valid for all time, to subjugate, convert or kill all those inhabitants of Dar al-Kufr. The God of the Bible did not call for forcible conversion, much less death. Allah did.

Sincerely, putting a smiley face on Islam is not my intention, but what I would like to do is explain that religion - faith - is an interpretation. Those men that you mentioned all RADICALLY interpreted Islam because of already pre-existing biases, and none of their interpretations have any truth, nor do they have anything to do with Muhammad's Islam. They interpreted Islam, jihad, etc. in the same ways radical Christians interpreted Christianity. The Crusades were a "holy war," jihad is not.

Excellent point! It makes no sense to claim that you honour Jesus as a prophet, while maintaining that Christianity was a perversion of Jesus' message FROM THE WORD GO. That would make Jesus a COMPLETE FAILURE as a prophet. Of course in the O.T. there's not a hint of an Arabic prophet-to-come, even though Muhammadan commentators have been desperately forcing the interpretation of some passages to mean just that. That's good advice, Wajih. I've read the Qur'an in several translations. I have an (abridged) edition of Ibn Ishag and I've read other books from the Islamic world, among them Rumi's Mathnawi. So without being an expert or Islamic scholar, my opinion of this creed is not simply based on media stories and Western myths. As to the God-stone comparison, I'd say that the story of Jesus dying on the Cross is just a tad more INTERESTING than the Kaaba stone.
