The Airman in question was initially marshalling his own jets (Tornados) but his antics generated a lot of attention. As a fundraiser for Cancer research they offered his services to anyone who made a donation. Both he and his wife had recently lost a parent to Cancer. This was a good way to raise morale, have some fun and raise money for a good cause.

@KnallinG Notice the jets with german flags were Tornados and the aircraft being marshalled by the Spanish airman was an F/A-18 which the Germans do not use. My guess is the multinational aircraft are probably on the same runway due to a joint exercise.

If you stand behine any sort of jet or even most prop aircraft as they pass the force of the trust can throw you to the ground or even throw you along the tarmac.

Top Gear did a program featuring a Boeing 747-400 and a Citreon 2Cv. The 747 blew the 2Cv about 200ft along a grass verge and the engines were only just above idle!!!!
