  • Great video! I was Whoaing, right along w/the rider :)

  • tjhis would be even awsomer in f****g 3D

  • Better than Six Flags !

  • I don't know about this but here in Slovenia every one I tried was limited to 40km/h by cart.

And this is the longest I've ever seen.

  • added to bucket list

  • Comment removed

  • I don't trust other people's mechanical skills enough to try thins.

  • This looks amazing! I totally want to go on it if I get a chance to go to Austria.

  • 3:20 I think he just cum

  • this is what i imagine a tony hawks pro skater grind to be like in real life, looks quality good vid (y)!!!

  • Wakakaaa.... aku pengin mencobanya ...

  • they should throw in a couple vertical loops.

  • gotta try the one in northeast usa , jimminy peak alpine slide , way scarier then this! and ill tell you first hand , it hurts if you crash..!!!(carts on concrete tube)if you dont slow down , you WILL crash,no rails guiding anything

  • I'd laugh if he hit a bear or a deer on the way down.

  • How difficukt is it to get Dual Citizenship for Austria? :)

  • That is incredible!!! I'm in America, never seen this. You are sitting up I presume, what does the vehicle look like??? Let me know if you post video of it!!

    Many thanks

  • @TJCavaliero - There are a few photos of the cars on the off-ride footage on my site. Glad you liked the video.

  • *Going down the coaster*

    OH LOOK A WILD BEAR!

    HI BEAR!!!

*bear beats the shit out of you*

  • this thing is sick!

  • Maybe if I really, Really wanted to get down that mountain..

Aw what the heck, I'd do it without a reason to.

Was the ride bumpy? It seemed that at the corners there was a lot of shuddering.

  • @DShephard91 - I don't recall it being bumpy...just scary!

  • BUCKET LIST

  • Wow I want to go on it what's it called and were is it

  • @JTREY83

    Descriptions, aren't they great?

  • @JTREY83 - It's in Mieders, Austria and is called the Sommerrodelbahn

  • how many times did it take u to learn how not to use the breaks i mean if someone was trying the first time u'd thing they'd fall off or something. . .but non the less great video

  • @QueenB4Life - I rode it once with a little braking and then rode it without braking on my second ride...we only had an hour at the resort so didn't have the luxury of more rides. I am experienced at riding all kinds of coasters and thrill rides, and certainly wouldn't recommend others trying to do this without holding on firmly with both hands.

  • I could not see in the woods electric side stripes or net protection so If a deer or any other mountain animal or any deaf old tourist get stuck or suddenly jumps over the tube you can't avoid the impact.

  • Insane! Where is this?

  • @TheMostValuableGamer - Mieders, Austria.

  • 4m to get down without brakes, imagine with brake O.o

  • intense in full screen mode

  • Just a pair of shoes in front of a helmet cam:)

  • @fabricman777 - the video was handheld...It's funny how almost 6 million people have seen my video yet all they have seen of me is my trainers LOL

  • wow.. what a rush!

  • MINECRAFT!

  • Im actually very curious... how are you strapped into the car?

  • @messedmushroom - a standard seat belt across the lap...check out the off-ride video on my channel for photos of the cars.

  • Dan you're lucky, when i was there in holiday, i had to brake always becaus slow people

  • @swimivar - I was indeed lucky to get a clear run ahead of me.

  • how much cost to ride?

  • this looks like a good way to kill yourself

  • Ooh! I want one of those to ride'

  • Christ! does that ever look awesome?

  • @davidjellis How did you manage to stay on the coaster the whole time? Sure, you can lean into the turns, but some of the drops look fairly steep..

  • @NeVarajMe - They WERE steep...I must admit I was a little scared of doing it no brakes, but thought "if it wasn't safe to do it they wouldn't have designed the ride to go at that speed"...I was able to steady myself with one hand holding the brake lever (pushing it forward releases the brakes)...but the other hand was holding the camcorder...I guess a lot of it goes down to the fact I have filmed on loads of coasters around teh world and am used to riding without holding the restraints.

  • FASTER DAMNIT! FASTER!

  • This video has made me plan a roadtrip this summer.

They should pay you a commercial fee :)

  • @FinalFragment - The fee would be cool...but sadly it won't happen...but I do hope you make it there and ride it. It's a great fun ride.

  • This looks so FUN!

  • I am totally going on this.

  • @SgtDeathBringer - you won't regret it if you do...it's great fun!

  • This should better be german engineered.

  • imagine if there was a deer straddeling that track lol

  • @Duden1337 no more deer :)

  • because brakes are for pussies

  • That looks really fun. If i was assured it was safe, I would totally try it.

  • would be nice if boar was just crossing it

  • I would love to ride this.... On mdma

  • Am I the only one thinking "poor trees"?

  • @Cdabek go wipe your ass with some plastic

  • why would you need breaks on a coaster? DOI

  • Man, you must have the smoothest ass crack in the world.

  • Why has no one attached a Return of the Jedi Speeder Bike to this?????

  • very nice =D Makes me wanna try it out myself

  • this is just about the funnest video i've ever watched!

  • Comment removed

  • looks cool but awful slow...

  • @bryanmm29 - I can tell you it doesn't FEEL slow when you ride it...the wide-angled lens does not do the steepness of those curves and drops justice...it sure feels a lot faster than 42kph.

  • Pretty spooky. 42kph doesnt sound bad, but it sure looked fast on the video.

  • @mrarthurallen1 looks slow on the video..extra slow..

  • Comment removed

  • reminds me when i cycled the White Cliffs of Dover down hill with no brakes.ahead of all my class mates. the vibration was intense.

  • Why would you need breaks? It's obviously attached

  • @ff2paladin - you use the brakes to slow down (which is optional on the main track, and obviously essential at the end of the track)

  • This looks amazing, there's a few points especially after you say no brakes that I though you would fly off, very cool. This was on coach trip once

  • Looks safe as riding down the highway with a guardrail through the windshield...

  • Now that looks like fun. And hope no Grizzly was at the bottom with a bib, fork, knife, and appetite waiting for you XD

  • It's all fun and game until a big grizzly is sitting at the bottom waiting to eat you're ass.

  • @195jordan ..SmartAss.. I think that cart is a little small to be carrying a donkey =P ..SmartAss .. And I tried using HTML tagging for the SmartAss parts but Youtube started having a heart attack.

  • @hathead83 - sorry I didn't fly off the rails! BTW I didn't use the manual brakes until the very end of the track...however the cars are fitted with centrifugal speed limiters which limit the rotation speed of the wheels, maintaining a maximum safe speed of 42kph...this stops the car acceleratiing to terminal velocity, which even I wouldn't want to attempt :-)

  • So how exactly does it stop? I love coasters that rock your world.

  • @thelazycomic - the coaster does have a brake...I just chose not to use it (until the very end of the track when (for obvious reasons) it is needed!

  • looks fun

  • @saintex50 - I can assure you it is at actual speed. Do the maths...track is 2.8km long, maximum speed of the ride is 42kph...therefore you could ride that length of track 15 times in an hour, or once every 4 minutes...and how long is the video clip? I rode the ride at full speed for the entire duration...the video is raw out of the camcorder, all I have done is to add titles.

  • @davidjellis You easily could have sped up the footage and added the audio in after... just saying...

  • @johnstangg - If I was sad enough to have done this then, sure, I expect it's possible...but the footage is not sped up or enhanced in any way...I may be a bit geeky but am not a fraud :-)

  • @davidjellis Don't listen to idiots. The video is great! I loved the "woahs" every once in a while >< I don't think I could ride that thing without using the brakes!

  • @JoyousinJesus - cheers...pleased you enjoyed it...and I must admit it was pretty scary!

  • @saintex50 You've clearly never come down a gravel hill on a mountain bike at 50km/h.

  • @saintex50 if it was sped-up, the cable-car would wizz by

  • I enjoyed your neat video here! I am very pleased that you didn't "poison" your video by putting in that awful heavy-metal type music--THANK GOD! I am intrigued by this "single" track that this ride runs on. Needless to say, your video is much more exciting than watching Jeopardy!

    From John Nozum

  • @JNozum - Pleased you enjoyed it. I do quite like some of the music that some people put on video clips, but for this one, it's better with just the raw footage

  • If I ever manage to go there, I'm going to try my best to visit this. It looks like an amazingly good time!

  • I would love to

  • that was the coolest thing i have seen all day, i fell like americans wouldn't do this though

  • You going @ 100 kph, chap?

  • @115road - nope, just 42kph...just looks and feels faster as your are very close to the ground and trees etc.

  • Shirleyamdpearl, that is exactly what I thought when I watched it. Lol. One little slow moving animal could ruin your day.

  • yow!!! thinking of the worst ... what if there was a slow reacting deer or critter who decided to stop on that track and stop right there for a snack....well, let's not think of that encounter! Looks like a rush!!

  • If you don't watch in fullscreen, you're doing it wrong.

  • I'm a sweet, friendly, honest lady.I've always waiting for a good man who can love me all my life ,so I got Romance2012 on

---T'ALL' HUB.c⊙m ---told it's the first and best club for tall people and their admirers. …

  • bricks would be shat if i went on this

  • so how did you stop?????????????

  • I used to ride awesome long rollercoasters, but then i took an arrow to the knee

  • So what happens when a dead tree falls over on the tracks while you are speeding down on them?

  • @solinvictus39---you die.

  • Makes the Forrest Rides in Tasmania look pityful.

  • german speaking people always take it a step further

  • i bet the line for this is literally a mile long... literally

  • That is fcking off the chart. What a blast that would be.

  • Moose test in 3 - 2 - 1

  • Hey, make it a 3D Video (red/blue)

    this woud be awesom

  • OK - I can breathe now! Should show the coaster itself. How much does it cost? They put the coaster back on the ski lift to get it back up? I assume you're buckled in... Approx. highest speed is??

  • @TomPauls007 - Answers (1) watch the off-ride video (2) 11 Euros I believe in 2011 (3) cars go back on the cable car I recall (4) There is a seat-belt (5) Highest speed approx 42kph (26mph) which doesn't sound fast but it feels very fast with those sharp turns and steep drops.

  • Who else was waiting for a deer sitting on the tracks?

  • Twilight could make millions off of this. The ride could be called like "Running with the Vampires".

  • Those signs mostly says something like: Attention, Break! or Don't reach out!

  • This was cool Now I want to go on that Coaster. The signs along the way were caution signs, as if it mattered it's not like you can slowdown or anything!

  • I certainly hop that track was higher than it looked.

  • I certainly hop that track was higher than it looked.

  • I guess the dislike bar got left at the top of the mountain.

  • kewl!

  • thats so sickk!

  • He forgot to say what Maxwell (see Gieco commercial) say's..."WEEEEEE , WEEEEE , PURE ADRENALINE...WEEEEEEEE.

  • That was really awesome!

  • Instant death if you hit something or fell off.

  • Amazing!!! I wish I could go all those places!

This why I love YouTube! Great channel!

  • Best 4 minutes of my life!! This is amazing!

  • @MrRoRlover11 - Cheers...really pleased you enjoyed it! Please feel free to have a look at my other coaster videos too :-)

  • @davidjellis I subscribed to your channel, These are great!

  • @MrRoRlover11 You really need to get out more.

  • What a GREAT video. I've rode an Alpine coaster in my past, but never like this. Where is this ??

  • @qbkeys - Hi, and glad you enjoyed the video. It is in a small skiing resort in the Austrian Tyrol area called Mieders. The area is so beautiful, although you don't see how pretty it is when you are flying down the mountainside on this! There are a few of these "single pipe" alpine coasters in that region, but this is the only one I have seen personally.

  • This would make a perfect terrain coaster!

  • @KENCweb - Well, it IS a terrain coaster of sorts...hugs the landscape all the way down.

  • Beautiful landscape! especially off in the background!

  • @Testicalish - Shame I was going so fast I didn't see it myself until when I posted the video!

  • this works with something else other than gravity am I right

  • @PistoleroAlexpolis - the cars have centrifugal speed delimiters to prevent the cars accelerating faster than their safe speed, but otherwise it is gravity all the way...the cars are not powered at all, if that is what you meant.

  • @davidjellis that's exactly what I asked, thanks dude

  • So many times I thought you flew off, but alas...

    That was sweet!

  • looks awesome!

  • can you ride it head first?

  • @seltblade - no, you can't...and probably a good idea not to :-)

  • how do you stop at the bottom????

  • @MrTinatalker - that's when you DO need to use the brakes, which is why the filming stopped just before the end...so I could use both hands to stop before coming to the end of the track! The cars DO have brakes...I just didn't use them until the very end.

  • 276 People are Chicken.

  • Awesome! Reminds me of the mountain roller coaster we have here in Glenwood Springs, Colorado

  • My grandfather sent me here..HOW AWESOME IS THAT :D???

  • Weeeeeee ......so freaken awesome!!!!

  • Ive been on the hulk and the kraken coasters in orlando and this looks like a more thrilling ride than the both of them put together!!!!

  • wow man, this is awesome!!!!!!!!

And probably more fun than a rollercoaster in an amusement park, isn't it?

(and longre, and cheaper :)) )

  • @alain001 - It was a LOT of fun...easily one of my favourite coaster erperiences, and I have ridden almost 900 coasters all around the world.

  • I need another pants

  • Imagine when a tree falls across the coaster track! woooooohh! ! !

  • 2:29... I would have crapped my pants HAHA

  • Should have a couple loops. Might then be worth the trip just to ride.

  • @davidjellis yes the do and this could be on a gopro commercial

  • Haha, i live there, didnt know we have such a thing^^

  • looks fun... until a deer or something jumps out in front of you...

  • @McHoffa Or Ninjas line up with swords on either side.

  • This is too cool. Thanks for posting it. This could have won some money from the GoPro folks but this may not have been done with a GoPro.

  • @jrwripit - you are right...it wasn't filmed with a GoPro - although it's the second time that make of camera has been mentioned to me in respect of a possible HD upgrade...by the way, what do they give money away for...is it some competition for the best footage?

  • I've waisted 4 minutes hoping he'd fall off.

  • epic
