Illidan was the true hero, he was the one who was betrayed, not the betrayer. The writers forgot this in WoW when they made him a one-dimensional villain. Everything he had ever done had been in the name of his people or for his love of Tyrande. He was neither demon nor night elf, he became something much more because that is what he needed to become. His people were closed-minded bigots and hated him for being different, for being able to control that which no one had ever controlled before.

@mamba701 "War of the Ancients" trilogy is a good place to go for a start on Illidan and WoW lore in general. But yeah basically. He was a night elf and made many questionable sacrifices for power to help his kind. Mainly making use of demonic powers. This changed him and made him an outcast of his people who imprisoned then exiled him. Classic, guy goes to any length to find the power to beat the baddies/become the hero and becomes a "baddie" himself. Tragic. Probably my favorite character.

but when WoW came around they actually made him a baddie in BC so we could have an evil boss to kill at the cost of good lore by rewriting the best warcraft character entirely into a one-dimensional villain with designated insanity

@cowfordflorida1 exactly, its true that illidan would be a villian to the arathor alliance (and the horde just cuz blizzard aparently always balances lore even though some factions should never be close to the conflict) but illidan and kael`thas were my favorite warcraft heroes... im not saying that they shouldnt have killed them off but i do believe that those characters could have accomplished much much more... RIP Kael'thas, Illidan, and Arthas

@mamba701 for example he stole a vial from the well of eternity before it exploded and thats why he was first imprisoned, then when the legion attacked mt hyjal his crush tyranade(i spelt it wrong) released him to help fight, then he stole an artifact from one of the demon generals and thats how he got so evil looking, malfurion(illidans brother) saw what he has become and then banished illidan

Take any game as an example and the intro videos are ALWAYS better then the actual games graphics. Why? The game would be unplayable if the graphics in the game were as good as the intro videos. You're expecting too much if you want ANY game to look exactly like the intro video.

Blizzard probably won't be redoing Kara anytime soon. Vanilla WoW has been out for a while, and they are essentially refreshing the game for those who have been playing from the start.

From being a fan of Warcraft since reign of chaos, mingled with warcraft II as well I'd have to say War3 cinematics were awesome, it did a great job throughout the campaign at revealing the story in an epic manner. Some how WoW is such a HUGE downgrade from that aspect of War3 if the brought that influence in WoW it would be much better, improving voice acting, more cinematic/cutscenes/better, larger quantities of music and so on.

I still play WoW, but it's just never compared to the epic feel I got from this game. I think it's the repetition - no matter how cool you make a boss fight, once you have to do it over and over again for weeks it becomes stale and boring. With the RTS games when I finally beat the ending I always needed to take a break, but the feeling of achievement left me content.

Yes but there's a problem to making a Warcraft 4. What's going to be the storyline? The story of Warcraft ended in this expansion. It's not possible to make another. Might as well just start a new franchise with a new storyline.

when you say "ended in this expansion" you mean Cataclysm? or Wrath of the Lich King? because if you ask me, even after Cataclysm, there is ALLOT more content that hasn't been explored: We haven't finished with the Titans, (Sargeras hasn't been killed yet) the Maelstrom! (Blizzard said we WILL NOT fight Azshara in Cataclysm, even though she will make an appearance) and then you've got the Emerald Dream, which has countless possibilities in by itself, IMO, i'd prefer more expansions within WoW

I wish they could have made another Illidan cinematic like this for The Burning Crusade; Arthas got one for Wrath of the Lich King.

Anyhow, Illidan couldn't possibly be dead. Characters are only considered dead in Warcraft if a part of their body is removed during the kill. You do not take Illidan's head or anything, and he still has 1 of the vials of water from the Well of Eternity. He probably uses the vial somehow to keep himself alive.

In the new dungeon Arthas wont die not in a 5 player dungeon he wont he'll get to 1hp then talk n run and then you open a chest for the loot. They'll put his death in a raid if anything
