@DeathProphet187. I'd like to see that. Craig has successfully demolished all his opponents to date. It's an argument, and he puts his case together extremely well. You are either closed to the philosophical/theological debate because you're ignorant of those disciplines, or simply have no argument, which is it?
Nothing is certain, And god is one of them. No one will ever know if god is real.... Just like people will debate if ghosts are real, Or if there is a bigfoot.... There will never ever be any evidence to prove god exists, So Christians please stop trying to force your religion on people.
@SgtM37slayer Nothing is certain? You certainly seem completely certain that your claim is 100% true. If nothing is truly certain, then your claim is not certain, it goes in a cyclical motion. Moreover, this is why debates are even happening because something must be capable of being at least somewhat certain other than your claim because that claim is incoherent. So, please stop trying to force your contradictory ideas on to people.
Who gives a shit, Debate over something that matters, No one knows if god exists and if you say you do then your a ignorant and close minded, I'm open to the fact that god MAY exist, But won't debate it like it matters

that being said the christian guy realy has some interresting points. But when the 2 other guys give their responce to the debate, the whole thing turns into pure slander agains atheists.

Religious Studies, Lesson 2: This starts with Abraham threatening to kill his son, relenting and taking a knife to his penis instead. Meanwhile his cousin, Lot, gave his daughter to be gang raped and she was. He blamed his wife for her mysterious death. Later he drunkenly screwed both his daughters and blamed them. Catholics think Jesus mum was a virgin. The Anglican Church is founded on a divorce. Mo raped a little girl of 9. And the moral of the tale is…?
In the beginning Adam and Eve so loved the world they made for themselves a beautiful garden. But one day a serpent, let’s call it religion, tempted them and said “I can give you a much better world than this. But first you must deny this world and when you die you can live forever with me in heaven” They agreed and their garden fell to ruin and the universal language of science was lost to them. Instead they and their descendants dreamed of heaven and became cruel and ignorant.
@BorgKing001 And you're the one with the new idea. For tens of thousands of years people lived their lives without believing that an old wise bearded man judged them from the heavens above. You have to prove why I should believe something so absurd. Why should I be the one to disprove your absurd notion? How could god even be disproven?
If I told you an invisible unicorn was rotating the earth right now and controlling our minds, you could never disprove it; but would you believe it?
@BorgKing001 The idea that one should prove his new concept in order to disprove an older concept has no logical basis. If one claims the earth is flat, 5000 years old, then that person caries the burden; irrelevant of any new claims. The fact that verification of athiest claims immediately debunk "old concepts" is simply a bonus. There are cases where new claims may encompass old claims. Example: theory of relativity encompassing familiar velocities.
@BorgKing001 The new theory does not have to debunk the old one. I said thats a bonus. The old theory is of no use, if there is nothing testable to debunk. If its not testable, it fails before it started. For example, we make predictions where fossils may lie in strata based on evol. theory. If we find those fossils, the theory stands.
If I told you there was a bowl behind a wall I would have to prove that, you wouldn't have to prove that it's not there since I have no proof that it is actually there.
Maybe God made the universe. Maybe there are lots of Gods. Maybe none of the Gods actually made the universe, and it just exists like they do. It could be that God made the universe, but not for us! He might have made it so that our cats might have eternal life. Possibly he made it for some aliens trillions of light years away. It might be that the universe made God, but never realized. We might even exist without God's knowledge. But most probably the universe just came from nothing by itself.
"Life is of the spirit, the flesh is of no avail"-Jesus. He could just as of said "Reality is formless, form is not real." or "Life has no form, form give the illusion of death" what else...."Reality is timeless, time is meaningless" or " Truth is eternal, the temporal does not exist" or "You are eternal, your skin is nothing" or "Life is real, death is but a dream" or "You exist, nothing is going to change this" or "Reality is changeless, time is the dream of change"
One of man's greatest follies is in the belief in time. Oh how sad, for he sees everything in time, limited by time and doomed by time. All this because he fails to look beyond the forms of the universe. Forms are but vails that hide the eternal truth. Their is no truth in a form but only in that which creates the form. Reality is formless, yet time is only in form. Everything is eternal except their forms. Forms are in constant flux. Therefore, no form is true. How simple truth is.
The origin of the universe is revealed to use every time we sleep. Every dream we have is of a universe. Never do we dream and omit the universe. Yet the universe we dream of every night is from where? Of course, it is a product of our mind. Now you know where the universe can from. It's why the origin of the universe is so elusive. Who can study a dream to determine what is real? God must laugh his ass off as we create a universe in every dream and still not know where the universe came from.
Atheist BELIEVE there is not sufficient evidence to support the theory of God. There is their belief. They are not belief free. It is a condition based on beliefs. It is a position based on beliefs.
The Christian simply believes there is sufficient evidence. The Atheists and Christians are not so different. Their positions are based on beliefs based on the evidence they have evaluated.
@1971SuperLead While it's true that no human is free of beliefs, you're just being silly when you say that atheists have to believe there's not sufficient evidence to support the theory of "God"(whatever that means). Every agent is free to set their own standards of evidence for their own beliefs, however it is pretty easy to demonstrate that crappy standards lead agents to make far more mistakes and possess far more false beliefs than necessary.
@Gnomefro You will believe whatever seems to be true to you. Truth is not important. You'd be amazed at what you believe and don't even realize you never gave such beliefs any thought. Like your belief in "false beliefs". Obviously you must then believe in true beliefs, but if you gave your belief some thought you would conclude that there is no such thing as a true belief. You cannot have a true belief. You can have knowledge or false beliefs. Truth cannot be believed. It can only be known.
@wownov83 Truth is not important in that it has little bearing on what you believe. We all have thousands or more beliefs yet what truth have we? What do you really know? What are you so certain on that it cannot be risen to doubt? What fact have you that can't be questioned? Truth is an elusive creature. More people spot Bigfoot than real truth. I laugh at jury duty when they swear me in to tell the truth. Like anyone has a firm grip as to what is really true!
"Belief is the psychological state in which an individual holds a proposition or premise to be true."
The truth of a matter is the ONLY criteria for determining belief. That being said, there is not a single piece of evidence that supports the existence of god. I don't share your opinion that "we know nothing"; technically, you couldn't prove the existence of the keyboard that I'm typing on right now. The issue is really quite simple; you believe in the unlikely and the absurd.
What what sense is that, that lead you to believe in god, that is not available to me or to the other millions of disbelievers? Why are you so special?
Secondly, in your own words, you believe knowledge to be fragile, and certainty to be impossible. How then could you possibly know that god exists? You simply can't be consistent in this matter. You're incorrect.
@wownov83 """What what sense is that, that lead you to believe in god, that is not available to me or to the other millions of disbelievers?""" Of course the awareness of God is possible to everyone. You simply have to want to know. God will not knock on your door. He waits for your knock on his door. """ you believe knowledge to be fragile, and certainty to be impossible.""" Knowledge is not fragile. It's simply forgotten. Knowledge is not learned, but remembered.
@wownov83 """ what sense is that, that lead you to believe in god?"""" That sense is your mind. Sure, the sense of logic is in the mind and that is one sense, but there is another. Many call it the 6th sense or your third eye. Others call it the higher mind. I call it telepathic communication with the Holy Trinity. All can and some do have a relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If you talk to Jesus sincerely he will answer you.
@wownov83 """The truth of a matter is the ONLY criteria for determining belief.""" I wish to correct your statement with "The seeming truth of a matter is the only criteria for determining belief." We are silly creatures to believe what we see and call it truth when experience and science has taught us that the our eyes are hardly reliable instruments for determining truth.
But when it comes to God, the truth came to me without use of eyes. Far more reliable senses were used.
@1971SuperLead "The Christian simply believes there is sufficient evidence. The Atheists and Christians are not so different. Their positions are based on beliefs based on the evidence they have evaluated."
