Careful when you say Johnny that you don't slap the beginning of the word. Yes this song has an intense drive but it's not violent...phrasing? maybe? It's needs some. Sopranos back off a little.
Sopranoes always need to back off and Altos always need to bring it out more. . . this always happens sopranoes feel like they need to be the loudest and they intimidate the Altos who back off. . .
IMO, the blend for this song isn't good at all...and i might have suggested lowering it a step...ur soprano ones sound shrill...and the balance is off as well...

This is very unstable. You can easily pick out certain people's voice (which always annoyed me) and all I hear is a nasely voice from certain girls and I hear a few slides which are very unattractive. I'd fire your teacher. :/
the video is good, but this choir sounds really funny, and you can pick out certain voices. we're singing this song in cantatrice choir now, and we already sound better... and we don't even know the whole song...
We went to TMEA this February singing that song. We were so good. you guys have bad audience presence. you guys need to look at ur director the entire time. Work on keeping it in key by the end of the song.

i'm doing an audition for my district choir with this song. great job, but just work a little on the tempo and the soprano 1's need to tone it down a bit.
it was good except the overpowering of first sopranos, and a few voices stick out really bad. another thing i noticed was that the whole group wasn't together on some parts. it seems like the parts that are supposed to be together are a little off, which leads to more confusion than the song allows.
i sang this song in the 8th grade.. and to be honest the soprano 1 section was too strong and in parts like "want you" and "dont you" it came out at "wantchu" and "dontchu" sorry but that just annoys me so much..
i would try to work on making the first "johnny said no's" more stacatto because i do believe they are written to be that way. Also try to work on starting on the same pitch at the same time.
When its supposed to be quite try it as whispering while singing. Then you have the chance to grow with your sound more. If you start of loud you have no where to go and it gets boring.
On the "but" before you start again try to hit it and then back of and grow. It adds for a nice effect also.
My old high school choir sang this song my senior year, and I would say to work on vowel unification. It sounds like everyone is singing a different vowel, and is singing at a different tempo.
There are so many opportunities to grow and pull with that song, and I didnt feel it.
My school did this peice this past year and I honsestly didn't like your tempo. I didn't hear much dynamic contrast either. Your "louds" sounded like screaming in here, either its really screaming or the quality of the video. The Soprano 1 part is just too loud for me...I'm sorry, I'm on my way to becoming a music major and these are just things I hear from experience with this song.
