So why don't you blame Bush for not protecting us on 9/11? Clinton would have had the planes shot down in a hurry, because it would have been a general's order. Bush allowed Cheney to get the order to shoot down hijacked planes, and for the first time in history, a VP had this right. He screwed it up big time. We had great foreign relations with Clinton, and no 9/11 would have happened if he somehow was president in 2001.

Shoot, Bush was in office for 8 months before 9/11 happened. Clinton had Osama bin Laden in his grasp multiple times and failed to take him out.  Clinton had 8 years. Bush was handed a ticking time bomb by the inadequete Clinton administration.

Wrong. Bush decided not to have any jet fighters ready that day. Instead, our entire air force (the ones that could have shot the planes down) was doing drills. He could have kept a few jets ready to protect our east coast, at the least, DC and NY. He allowed the attacks to happen, whether he meant to or not. Clinton may not have been the moral highlight of our country, but I'm sure he had jets to protect us every single day he was in office.
