Did you line up so close to the edge of the runway to give these guys an extraordinary blast or was it for safety reasons? As far as I remember those marked runway areas should'nt use in any way, even for taxi...or?
@Brieselanger thanks. to answer ur question. would you not consider using every extra inch of runway for safety ? its not standard policy to use it, but thats what you're seeing there. optimum use of runway length, and as a result to that the extraordinary jetblast. the jetblast/static takeoff is by the way standard requirement for the md80 on this particular departure.
@umpalumpa101909 yes we did the right turn actually very late for our airlines normal procedure. but the reason you gave was acutally right. loosing an engine in the MD80 will give you very marginal clearances over the mountains on the right side, so with actual figures obtained from McDonellDouglasCompany, we start the right turn asap to a hdg of 180.
we see most jets with better single engine performance, or N-1 (1 engine out) will climb straight ahead for some miles then start their turn
Oh my God, Alvin and the other Chipmunks have taken over the Control Tower......... sounded like you were beeping at the crowd there at the end...... LMAO. Nice video though :-)

That's the dream right there!, Being a Pilot is not a job, it's a Dream come true :D
Also, i noticed that you made a right turn rather early, Is that to clear the mountains in case of a Engine failure or similar problem?

Some computer nerds thinking it's FSX. Hell no. Even the most realistic will never come near to real life.
