  • I found out what I was doing wrong and now have a jailbroken iTouch.

    Great tutorial. Thanks!

  • When I try to create the firmware, Quickfreedom lags then I get the message "Error Creating Firmware!".

    Can anyone help?

  • at 7:10 in your video, can i choose, "Restore from the backup of iPod" instead of "Set up as new iPod"?

  • does this work for mc models

  • Help! How do I get all my apps and songs back after jailbreaking?!

  • After jailbreak, plug it back into your computer, treat it just the way you did when you bought it. Check auto sync, then go to File->Sync iPod

  • &it IS in dfu mode.

  • My ipod never turned white...

  • does this work on mac?

  • I was just wondering, why do you need to hold down shift whilst clicking restore?

  • Clicking the restore button regularly would restore your ipod with the original regular unjailbroken firmware. By holding down shift, you make it so that you can browse for the firmware that you want to update it with. You can visualize this by looking at the bottom left of the window and seeing that little button turning into a gear.

  • Thank you :)

I actually havent even got my itouch yet, im getting it next week, but I really would like to jailbreak it, and I am carefully trying to make a desicion here. I think its best to know as much as I can first, and then choose after.

Do you think it would be a good idea to actually jailbreak it before I even put anything on it, that way I wont have to sync everything back on?

  • Doesn't really matter...As long as you don't have 10 extra minutes to spare. But if you want to play with the original firmware version before jailbreak, then do whatever you want to it, it'll all be off soon!

  • Thank you :)

And if I follow your instructions here should I not encounter any problems? My dad would absolutly kill me if I managed to break it 1O minutes after getting it.

But now ive seen all the possibilities after jailbreaking, I just cant NOT jailbreak. xD

  • You might encounter a problem, in fact, it's likely, but it's impossible to break. If something goes terribly wrong, first restart it by holding down both buttons untill it turns of then turn it on again. Then plug it to your computer, go to iTunes, then click Restore (without holding down shift) and restore it to the normal firmware. Good luck!

  • Thank you for all your help <3

(just wondering though, what exactly are these problems I might encounter?)

  • Or what I have found is easier hold down both for 20 seconds and just don't switch ps last time I tried using blackrain to jailbreak and I couldn't get it outta dfu mode scared the shit outta me but I got it on then I was like Fuck this I'm not jailbreaking!

  • @elijahv369 haha, yeah. That's exactly what happened when I jailbroke my FRIEND's ipod. Think of how I felt then...

    thanks :)

  • omg now it works and it is cool, thank you soooooooooooooo much woo 5 stars and a subscription earnt :)

  • please helllllp, i do exactly what it says :(:(:(:(:(:(

  • now i got the firmware, because i got the new ipod update, 3.? firmware, does that make a difference?

  • No, it doesn't.

  • its great video and all that, its all working ok, but i cant get it in DFU mode :( :( i keeps saying its not connected, and it isnt in recovery mode, pleaseeee help dude !!!

  • Hold down both buttons until your computer beeps and says it disconnected, then continue holding the home button until it says it connects in (DFU mode in Quickfreedom, or recovery mode in itunes). Good luck.

  • i cant download the 2.2.1 firmware, my internet automatically cutsout on it, help :(

  • What does it mean by error 13?

  • dude when i do your holding butons thing it says connected in recovery mode, what do i do now????

  • After you do that, just click the "Pre-Jailbreak" Button.

  • i clik it and it says please connect to dhu mode...

  • That means that you haven't done the button holding right. Basically every time you switch the button holding positions, your computer should make a sound
