so nice to see this music is appreciated by the current generation. you might be interested in the "slow" version of this song he did a couple of decades later.
Life much hipper now - really - take a look around you - not a lot of people are happy these days. Majority of people are in debt and worrying about if they're going to still have a job.
You think women these days look better now - That's definitely debatable especially if you look at Snooki and the Kardashians - who are just plain trash.
amazing how people judge old music. people think this sucks because mr. neil here isnt singing about fucking, money, or drugs. i forgot we lived in a world where people think stupid and terrible music is awesome. just pointing out this was the beginning of the music boom. this song is great.
@batobantelis "He has been married to his wife, Leba (Strassberg), since 1962. They have two children: a daughter, Dara, a recording artist and vocalist for television and radio commercials (who sang the female part on the Sedaka duet "Should've Never Let You Go"), and a son, Marc, a screenwriter who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Samantha and three kids." -indicates straight or bi.. Who knows!.. :) Just FTR, effeminacy really doesn't mean a man is gay. Plenty of effeminate straight men too.
@batobantelis ..... :-) Also, gay/bi guys can be manly, and not effeminate. Everyone is different in this world. Everyone is unique. It's quite wonderful... as is Mr Neil Sedaka's singing :D
Ah, this is the type of song that makes you want to get up and dance!!!It really gets your blood pumping. I fell in love with this song a year ago. Now I listen to it every week.
I love this song! And what's so funny I was reading a Garfield comic the other day and he was sings Comma, comma, down, dooby, doo, down, down in the comic. LOL!
i rather love this song. i am unfortunately of the younger generation and due to this i find few with similar taste as me so i must enjoy it alone, but regardless it is quite fun.
im only 25 but ive been loving rock and roll since i was born, my parents always listened to rock and roll, and the radio used to play this oldies music when i was a kid
this type of music lives forever becuz its sooo good
and for the people who disrespect this music, well the music of today like hard rock and punk and all that would not even be around if it wasnt for this classic music
I'm taking a walk down memorie lane and I'm only 14. I had this 45 when I was 7 but in 2005 I lost it and to this day have yet to find it. =/ Thanks 4 posting :)
@LennonForever38 LOL omg same here I'm only 14 as well. There's that thud part in the music background that interests me alot. "...'Cause breakin' up is hard to do...THUD THUD THUD THUD remember when..." lol i love that part 0:32
@McNugget06 Who said I was. I was replyin it to someone not you. he said he was only 14 and loves the song, so i told him i was 14 and loved the song as well. im not saying i was unique and original for liking this. stop thinking that.
i love this song. i love old music! im just 12 and i love MJ, th beatles, and classic songs like this..cant get enuff of it, my mom says im an old soul
@MJJisAWESOME Me too! Ive been listening to this stuff since I was around 11 and now Im 16. My mom thinks I like died and then was reincarnated or something like that. Lol. =)
Yeah, usually the first few years of new decade are transitional until the fourth(ex.1963) or fifth(1964) year. 50s popular music didn't come around until 1953ish. Same with the '90s as until 1993-94, most music sounded '80s like.
@kasey85 : the 50s existed well into the 60s....the cutoff year was 1965 when folk and a gogo dancing became mainstream so what we think as "the 60s" (counterculture, flower power, etc ) was only 1965-1971)
@brainslow Agree with you 100%. 1965 makes plenty of sense as the Populuxe era lasted from 1954-1964. One would also think it was the 80s if looking at the culture of 1991.
@kasey85 : yea even as a coincidence everything seemed in black and white on tv like in the 40s and 50s until 1965-66.... the beatles recorded and issued "Yes it is " in the spring of 65 and that song sounds soooo 1958... only ONE spring later they were recording the trippyTomorrow never knows and the exotic Love you to....
this song was being played at the old Locarno ballroom in derby when my first girlfriend Ann was telling me she didnt want to see again! i still smile at this everytime i hear it..i wasnt to know then that this was going to be my first exursion into the realms of synchronicity lol
I loved Neil Sedaka as a kid. He was and still is a lot of fun to listen to and he's an excellent song writer. I'm so glad young people are enjoying him still today.
