Are you kidding? A planet that eats planets? It might have worked in the 80s, but that would definitely not go over well now. Besides, if they bring in unicron then optimus has to die and that's when transformers really started to suck.

well, for one I think the decepticons need to be drastically redesigned because they all have the same grey color scheme that makes them really difficult to tell apart. But I think Starscream should become the main villain, only to have his power usurped by megatron near the end in the middle of the final battle of the movie.

I found the battle with megatron to be infinitely easier. Only took me about 10 tries. I don't think I ever even beat Tidal Wave without cheating. In my defense, I was playing it on hard though.
