  • The music sounds like it should be in a Legend of Zelda video game.

  • 0:56 ... ugh, those dancing mummies scared me as a kid... they still do now with their awkward half dead dancing!

  • takes me back

  • this melody has been stuck in my head for 20 years

  • We are of the butterfly.

  • One of my favorite segments of the video along with one of the best songs included.

  • WOW! mind blowing memories i tell ya...

  • @Dymez187 Mind blowing memories? Double that stoned, man. This shit's already trippy without the nostalgia.

    -Hockey Rulz

  • This song has been stuck in my head for nearly two decades.

  • @jschoolhannah and to finally find it! holy shit...

  • @Jax184 ...better not watch this if you are high

  • um....why the hell did that zebra skinned guy or something, just jump off the top of the pyramid, to catch a butterfly?

  • @roboguy75 He leaps off and transforms into a butterfly. He actually sheds his skin and flies away.

  • @Jax184 to catch a butterfly... you must *become* the butterfly ! :p

  • This was probably my favorite of all the little clips shown on YTV. Thanks for the memories!

  • we've come along way since then. animation like this used to cost tens of thousands to produce. now, i can make something equivalent on my desktop.

  • #1 stoned

  • I feeling so nostalgic, damn the 90's were the coolest times. now lets bring back Reboot they finished off in a bloody cliffhanger

  • "Will you hug the butterfly?"

    Nice, brings back memories.

  • @Tom8201 I thought "she" was saying, "we are of the butterfly" which makes more sense, considering their colors, and stuff. Kinda cool to think about really...butterfly people...lol

  • lol tapes? that shit is from laser disc bro

  • 2deep4u

  • used to be played before reboot came on

  • When I about 8 or 9 I watched this video all the time..we got it in Hawaii so it felt like a souvenier as well as state of the art animation...it really did feel mind blowing at the time! This song was my favorite...I played it over and over...for the music and the dog mostly :)...I was just a little girl.

  • i am ten years old and this is awsome mario and all this getto pokemon rap kids bop shit is no match to this

  • i feel strangely hypnotized

  • wow this video literally made me puke!!!!!

  • late night YTV ... if you were canadian in the 90s you had this shit stuck in your head.

  • this was my favorite song, man

    good times

  • My favorite song off the VHS tape.

  • wow, I've had this song in the back of my head for nearly 20 years. Thanks for sharing this, I never thought I'd see it again.

  • @BlueSilverStars

Ahhhh! Thank you so much for giving me at least a name to follow up on! I hereby vow that I WILL someday track down this clip.

  • blue figure at 1:10 has camel toe

  • I've been singing this song in my head for nearly 20 years and TODAY I found the video it belongs to. Welcome back, old friend.

  • @keallenart Signed.

  • Wow, I thought I'd never see this again! The music's been stuck in my head since I was a kid.

Now if I can only track down that similar 3D short with the parrots, eye balls, and dollar bills, and the song that involved the phrase "eye-eye-eye-eye"...

  • @Artoveli The segment you're referring to is from Gate to the Mind's Eye, but since music is by Thomas Dolby, it's impossible to find on youtube. The corporate shmucks pull that shit almost as soon as it gets uploaded. You can still view some of the animations I think, but the audio tracks have been removed.

  • This was my favorite.

Oh YTV, will you EVER be cool again?

  • OMG I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR 10 YEARS

  • ahhhh, this is great. Reminds of when i was a young one watching YTV.

  • I have a hard time watching this without crying or wanting to cry, haha. Nostalgia at its greatest here, folks.

  • Creativity at its best. post-modern 3d art in a simplistic expressive form with beautiful flowing music, its amazing to think my generation of canadian youth grew up watching this, slowly having the seed of music geometry and more planted... i think we are the luckiest generation ever. young with super nintendo, short circuitz, the early power rangers and late ninja turtles... godd so much to be grateful for as kids...

  • This is too awesome, i remember watching this when I was a kid,. I still have a copy on VHS

  • i haven't heard this since i was a kid and i was humming this very song at work. Always meant to look for this video on youtube and i finally did. I first search YTV short films. No proper results. Then YTV short animations. Found a bunch of Short Circuits and then BAM the pyramid caught my eye. I'm so glad i found it. It just blows my mind how something can stick with you for such a long time. I must have been 5 years old when i saw this, 18 years later it just feels so good to see this again

  • o m g memories!

  • Wow this is pure 90's... NOTHING like this could exist now. and I mean the animated sequences AND the music. Everything has to be so damn sleek, modern, or clever these days... its disgusting. With the burst of creative energy that was among a good part of the 90s, it gave birth to tasteful treasures like this.. in which I am very thankful for.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • Just listening to this takes me back so far. I love it.

  • <3

    Thank you

  • The song is captivating!

  • We are of the butterfly.

  • Oh my... I've had that song in my head for the past 2 days. Thank you for posting this :) Brings back a lot of memories!

  • Most of the video in this piece comes from The Little Death, a 1989 cgi short film by Symbolics. (There's a copy of it on youtube, on the VintageCG channel. )

I greatly prefer Jan Hammer's music here over Haze Greenfield's music from the original video.

  • If I had a theme song, this would be it! I love that electric guitar just ripping at the end, Im so gonna learn this!

  • oh the childhood memories! =,)

  • This looks so awesome. I've just bought this on LaserDisc off ebay. Can't wait to get it!

  • this sounds like something that would be from the legend of zelda ocarina of time.

  • The memories are just flooding back! Oh I miss the YTV days... I think I've watched all of these now! This and the Bird and Fish one are my favorites! I looked everywhere for these videos. Thanks for putting them up.

  • I was looking for this FOREVER!

  • this beat was one of my favorite

  • Why can't anything be exciting anymore like this in 2010.... we don't even give a shit about the new animation it's like we've seen everything but this mind's eye series isn't just a cheap gimmick it's fucking art.

  • This was cool. I keep forgetting that you can look stuff up on youtube. I've got this on a VHS somewhere, and taped it almost by accident one afternoon. Interesting to look at and Jan Hammer's music is cool as well.

  • @controlfunction Wow, you've saved me some typing. You're comments mirror my experience. I loved seeing this at the time and I was impressed by Hammers compositions also. It came on tv one arvo and we threw a tape into the VCR. I actually looked this up because of those magnifecent string chords at 1:53

  • nice graphics on the year 1993

  • Move over Avatar...

  • Awesome nonsense...

  • What the HELL is going on in this at a minute into it? Some really unbelievably crude animation.

  • @Ultrasecond 92' man, that was state of the art.

  • @Ultrasecond srew you you are just some getto retard whos obsesed with pokemon and black ops

  • Awesome. One of the best tapes from 1992

  • amazing quality thank you!
