Watched about 1/2 of the Clemson game on and off and on 2 drives he took every snap from Shotgun(pistol). I couldn't find an article that gave me an answer other than lots of articles about FSU not running the ball well and people wanting Ponder in shotgun. Any answers would be appreciated. I'm assuming he's taking 70-80% but that's a guess.

Hey Greg, I have a serious question. Love Ponder he looks good and I'm sure he's a "real QB". Do you know what % of snaps he takes in the shotgun. Watched about 1/2 of the Clemson game on and off and on 2 drives he took every snap from Shotgun(pistol). I couldn't find an article that gave me an answer other than lots of articles about FSU not running the ball well and people wanting Ponder in shotgun. Any answers would be appreciated. I'm assuming he's taking 70-80% but that's a guess.

Real simple, Ponder can take snaps from under center, done it his entire life. Tebow had to learn how to take a snap from center halfway through his senior year in college. Look up the phrase "system qb" and you'll learn why he won't be an NFL qb.

Yeah, tebow has only taken snaps from the shotgun since Pop Warner, through high school, and up until halfway through his senior season. If you don't want your tender woman feelings hurt, don't ask stupid questions. As for Ponder, he takes about as many snaps from the shotgun as any real qb.

McCoy takes tons of snaps from the Shotgun, as do most of the QB's in college for that matter. It would be interesting to know what percentage many of these QB's take from shotgun.
