Those computer models have been shown to be wrong, because they did not predict this "plateau".

Just look at the global warming issue this way.

Suppose everybody believes it's happening and it man made and takes steps to reduce their impact. Worst case scenario, the world economies take a bit of a hit for nothing. Big fucking deal. That's hardly the end of the world.
