Another one of my fave H50 moments. The original is the best! OK, so it's not loaded with fistfights, hip-hop, tits & ass. It was about the writing...the plots, the twists, and the delivery. So much style with original, can't be touched. I guess lots of people dig the new H50. Suppose they hadn't used pretty lil' Grace Park, but some man. Let's be honest here...Ain't nothing like the real thing.
@MrJMontrose Thanks to Marie Lord, that designed his clothes... Jack was a fan of original clothes, for example long sleeved hawaiian shirt. A little bit unusual.
Love isn't sin. I like that to see it. This scene remembered me a scene that THE MUMMY 2. When Imhotep will hope that Ank Su Namun saves his life and she said no, and let him there and he cries. Many women loves him for it. This episode was equal.
Beverly Hills' Shopping District Will Be Finished or Else it Becomes a New Deaftone Empire Once Again Under the Hands of Gaylord's Dark Spirit Forever
The guy playing the killer is Jonathan Goldsmith (a/k/a Jonathan Lippe), now known to TV viewers as "The World's Most Interesting Man" in the Dos Equis beer commercials.
@StukInBuf : Lippe appears in two other Streets episodes, including a fave of mine, "The Twenty-Five Caliber Plague". He's in quite a few FBI and Barnaby Jones episodes as well.
@StukInBuf: There is a bit of resemblance between him and Birney, now that you mention it, and they have done a lot of the same shows, but as far as I know, no relation whatsoever. Yes, he has been around...interesting little anecdote from Jonathan Etter's great book on QM and their shows...Quinn Martin actually STOPPED giving work to Lippe, due to his approaching QM at a Christmas party and thanking him for all the work...that sort of thing made him VERY uncomfortable!
I love how Danno was so loyal to Steve, almost like a son to a father. If Starsky & Hutch were implying gay love, McGarrett-Williams implied Father-Son. LOL!
EASY STEVE, that is police brutality. AND it is captured on film. I am watching now on CBS the first two seasons. While is it hockey, it is fun. I live part time on Oahu and it cool to see the places in 1968. Great Series.
I wish some channel would pick this series up. I have the first six seasons on dvd so hopefully they will have all 12 out within the next three years. I have not seen any episodes past the seventh season except for "Year of The Horse" as my local affiliate stopped airing Hawaii Five-O reruns in 1992 while in the middle of the seventh season.
Funny...I remember watching this episode as a kid and thinking that Lord looked awkward playing a lover. I don't think he was into showing too much vulnerability.
In a "History of Communications" course, we saw the title character from "Inspector Morse"(Played by John Thaw) get likewise framed for the murder of his girlfriend. In a term paper, I compared that episode with this "Hawaii Five-O" episode, and treated a couple other British crime shows we saw with comparisons to other American crime dramas. It got an A-plus.
Long Scene of McGarrett beating the sh*t out of his girlfriend's murderer. it also has Closing Credits without Music. One of my favorite Hawaii five -0 Favorite episodes!

@recordman64 Lippe played in Streets of SanFran, "Thrill Killers." Someone has the clip elsewhere on YouTube.

@recordman64 For that time and era... he's been around.
All that time, though, I thought he was David Birney. Any relation?

@recordman64 Not hiring him because he had the decency to give thanks? That's a strange way to repay gratitude.

I've always loved that music style. Heard in some many TV shows in those days, like in The 6 Million Dollar Man.
